Good morning Cafe. Thinking of you today Ginger as you have your surgery. Also all three of those truck paintings are so cute. I would have no way of guessing which is yours. I love them all! We will wait to hear from you when you are feeling better. It seems like we all agree about the traffic. It’s just terrible these days. Today is my volunteer day so I am off in about an hour. I hope everyone has a great and sober day!

Good luck today Ginger, the whole gang is rooting for you! I'm also going with the one in the middle lol.
Vegreville doesn't have much traffic either Jude, but the highway is a different story altogether, especially with winter driving.
I have a Kindle as well Rava, I do enjoy using it for reading but still enjoy turning the pages on a paper book.
Not a bad idea to look into getting a Kindle dill, especially if you do a lot of reading like I do. I keep thinking I should get a membership to our public library though.
If we didn't have so much snow to shovel Mulburry I'd probably just stick with the regular snow shovel. But with the long double driveway, sidewalks in the yard front, side, and back, plus the street sidewalk, not to mention that I usually end up doing the street sidewalks for 3 of our neighbors, it usually takes me over an hour to get it all done. I'm sure I'll end up using the regular shovel on a few occasions as I'm not sure how the electric one will handle the -30 to -35 weather that we get.
No snow to shovel this morning, but we're supposed to get more throughout the day and overnight tonight. Snow forecasted for throughout Wednesday and Thursday then finally clearing off. But then the temps start to plummet, looks like more than a few days of bitter cold headed our way.
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

Ginger, Hope you are in recovery and that your recuperation is quick and as painless as possible!
Rava and Jude, I will look into a Kindle but not sure I need to have one. I'm very pleased with the way the Libby app works on my phone. Next time I'm at the library I'll talk with the librarians and ask their opinion of best ways to access audio books. I never actually sit and read much anymore because I like to keep moving while I listen to my books... Also, I really like the Bluetooth air buds that work with my iPhone. So, I'm pretty well satisfied with my current set up.
Cowboy, do you listen to audio books? Oh my gosh, speaking of the public library, the other thing I get from there are DVD's and just recently I got The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio. What a great movie! I was thinking it might be one you maybe would like. Some of it is pretty tough to watch though. I guess a lot of it was filmed in Alberta. You might have already known that.
Hey Mul, if you don't have a big area to shovel, perhaps you are right that you would be better off with a regular snow shovel. You're right that it is a good way to get exercise!
Not today.
Dill

Ginger, hope that everything went well with your surgery yesterday. I think that down the road you'll be glad that you had it done.
More snow on the way here but at least the bitter cold is easing up a bit, at least for now.
Mr. J's niece is coming to visit for a few days and I'm looking forward to it.
Waves to all!

Good morning Cafe. Dill sounds like you would not need a kindle. I was thinking you were reading a book from your phone which is almost impossible! LOL. Do you listen to podcasts as well? I really like them. Cowboy, I hope that snow stays manageable for you. I have not seen actual snow for years. I will have to be careful saying that as we travel north next week. Ginger Hope that surgery is over and you are recovering. Jude, I hope you enjoy your visit from your niece! Hi to Mul. Wishing everyone a great day. 24 more please and thank you.

Hopefully the knee replacement went well Ginger and that you'll be up and around with no complications and minimal pain soon.
Sounds like we're having the same type of weather Jude and dill. Enjoy your time with Mr J's niece Jude, you two seem to get along quite well.
I have seen The Revenant dill, thought it was a pretty good movie even with the gory parts lol. I haven't listened to any audio books as of yet, I might give it a go some day in the future.

I made it! So far all is well. Pain is tolerable. Cyrus is not happy we've messed with his world
They won't release you to go home until you've walked on it - full weight. PT starts today and I'll go 3x a week for 6 weeks.
One thing is for certain, I'm glad I'm not drinking. Thanks for being here in the Cafe! Let's all enjoy another day of freedom!

Oh ya, in your case it totally makes sense. We usually only get snow a few weeks out of the whole year and usually not that much (though we did have some pretty big dumps a couple years). I sure hope all this rain we're getting (supposed to hit 130mm by late tonight) doesn't work it's way over to you as snow, haha, that would be quite a load (looks like the jetstream is moving south so you should be ok). We should be ok here (knock on wood) but there's already some flooding in the Fraser Valley.Originally posted by abcowboy View PostIf we didn't have so much snow to shovel Mulburry I'd probably just stick with the regular snow shovel. Glad the surgery went well Ginger999 ! I'm sure you'll be up in the mountains again in no time!

Good morning cafe! It's blustery and cold outside with lots of snow coming our way. I had an appointment yesterday and the drive there was a nightmare due to heavy snow. The road and the fields became as one because of the blowing and drifting snow. Fun times!
Ginger, glad that your pain is bearable and hopefully it will stay that way. Sounds like you'll be going to PT for a while, but that's all part of the healing process.
Dill, I can't believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away! I did most of my shopping through Amazon which sure makes things a lot easier.
Waves to Rava, cowboy and Mul!
