That's too bad about your brother-in-law Ginger, especially this time of year. Amazing that they are getting him in so quickly for a replacement!

Good to see you right back on the wagon Rava, you'll get through today and this evening just fine I think.

I haven't been around a group that's drinking for quite a while Jude, but it is a good reminder of what can happen if we get complacent. When it got to about 4" of snow I went out to try and stay on top of it, my electric shovel worked great, but the battery only lasted about 1/2 hour. Lucky thing I have a bunch of those batteries!

It's definitely a white Christmas for us dill! And thanks for the book recommendation, I'll definitely be checking it out.

Cleared about 4" of snow yesterday and looks like a little bit less to shovel this morning. Got 2 batteries charged up but don't know if it will be enough as I also have 2 neighbor's driveways and sidewalks to do this morning. Might let Bubba use the electric and I'll use a regular shovel.

        Merry Christmas, "framily"!

Rava, I'm proud of you for sticking to your plan to play with gkids and drink coke. I'm with you about the next life. We need a break. Lol Today will be fine, you got this!

I talked to BIL yesterday. He's in pretty good spirits, all things considered. I hooked him up with a shoulder replacement group on Facebook. I joined one for knee replacement and have found it helpful. Much like MWO, really.

Waves to all my pals and Merry Christmas to you all.

          Merry Christmas!!!

Thank you, Cowboy, for that lovely greeting, and all the lovely greetings over all these years! Sounds like you're having a "white on white Christmas" this year. I wonder what Bubba will think of the electric shovel. Hope you let us know if she takes it for a spin!

Rava, I'm so impressed with you pulling back and stopping at a 1/2 bottle. I am certain I would have done what Jude said she would have done. So you should be proud of yourself for that, and for getting through all these family drinking events. I know how hard that must be. I came from a culture of drinking in my family and I sometimes think that if I hadn't moved so far from my childhood home that I would never have had a chance of getting free.

Jude, thanks for the description of the party and the drinkers. I appreciated you putting it in perspective. It's so good to remember what it is I don't want to be doing. I would be slurring and laughing and saying nonsensical things and wouldn't even remember half of the evening by the next morning! Not to mention the hangover.... A hangover on Christmas morning is not good.

Hello Ginger, hope you are enjoying your knee freedom! So sorry for what happened to you BIL! May I please join your Ladder Avoidance Club?

          Hiya', Mul!

A quiet Christmas morning here. It's actually in the 50s(F) this morning!! It's kind of foggy and gray. I bet Rudolph saved the day for us here in south/western Ohio!

          Not today...

Good morning friends! Hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I got a puzzle table as a gift and I'm really enjoying it. It has a cover to keep curious felines from stealing the pieces. It's also portable so I can work on it in various places. I love it!

Cowboy, that's too bad about the battery on your new shovel only lasting a half hour. It's a good thing that you have lots of batteries!

Hey Rava, dill, Ginger and Mul!

            Not today!

Good morning and Happy day-after Christmas one and all!

Jude, I never even knew there was such a thing as a puzzle table until I read about it here recently. I think it is a great idea and a wonderful gift for any serious puzzler. When you finish your puzzles, do you mount them and frame them?

Hope everyone is enjoying the peace of the morning after, hangover free.

Another 24 is on order for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good morning Cafe. I am so happy to have made it thru yesterday as well. It was a very small crowd and only a few drinkers. I was not tempted. To made things even better, the dinner was over early and Mr. R and I decided to just drive back home rather than spend the night. It’s great waking up sober in my own little home. Sounds like everyone had a good holiday. I didnt decorate so there is no taking down anything. I got myself a porch goose for christmas with some little outfits. You know I have lost my ever loving mind but it’s the little things in life. As long as I am not drinking anything is ok. Hi to everyone and hoping you have a wonderful Friday!

I've never heard of a puzzle table either Jude, sounds like a must have if you're into doing puzzles.

Waves to the rest of the gang...

No snow yet to shovel here this morning thankfully lol. I'm going to have to take a run out to the farm soon and open the gates so that Corey can plow out the lane. I'm positive that I won't be able to make it in even in 4 wheel drive.

Jude, I love my Puzzle tables! I have one here and at home. The top keeps Cyrus from puzzle mischief. Lol

Rava, great job! When do you head back?

ABC, be careful driving out there!

                      Hi, Mul and Dil.

We had a lovely dinner with friends. No drinkers, no temptation! Our home here will start hopping in the next few days as the "birds" start migrating now that Christmas is over!

                      I'll gladly take another day!

Belated Christmas tidings to everyone! Stay strong at this difficult time of year!

Surprisingly we had a White Christmas afterall. None of the forecasts called of it, but it actually snowed a bunch yesterday (but not too much), so that was a bit of a Chritmas miracle, haha.

Dill, I never knew about puzzle tables either until I saw an ad for them while scrolling on Facebook. If you love puzzles but have cats it's a great option. I love the fact that it's portable so my dining room table isn't taken over with a puzzle that you can't move.

Looks like Mr.J is going to have to get the tractor out to plow the driveway this morning. We had about 8 inches of snow overnight and the wind created huge drifts which of course are mostly in the driveway. Looks like I'm staying home until he can get it done.

Rava, so glad that you didn't drink at the dinner party. Waking up hangover free is one of the best gifts of sobriety.

Waves to Ginger, cowboy and Mul!

                          24 more please...

It's nice you got a white Christmas Mulburry, but I know the snow won't last very long where you are so enjoy it while you can.

I didn't end up going out to the farm Ginger, decided I'd wait till after this snowfall is over and get the lane plowed then.

I think my lane will be the same Jude, lots of snow and drifts to deal with. I'm sure Mr J will have fun clearing it all.

Good job on staying away from the booze Rava, I know how hard it can be sometimes. I had to look up "porch goose" to see what it is, definitely not showing Bubba or we'll have them as well lol.

Sounds like you're staying snow free dill, I can send some your way if you'd like lol.

Jude, I don't have cats indoors here, but I totally understand the pros of being able to move the puzzle off the dining room or kitchen or coffee table. That has always been the hangup I've had with starting a big puzzle. That's fantastic! Sorry about your snow. We had rain yesterday but temps in the 60s, so no complaints here. We're due for a huge drop in temps tomorrow. What kind of tractor does Mr. J have? We have a Mahindra.

Hi Mul! Love the story of the White Christmas Miracle!

Rava, I think the porch goose is really fun and would bring me great joy. I bet passers-by appreciate it too. It's definitely the little things in life that make life grand. Now that you mention it I think I'll get out my snow man collection and put it out for the winter months. It puts a smile on my face.

Ginger, I know you were talking about people when you mentioned the migration, but it reminded me to mention the gift my SonIL gave my daughter for Christmas. It's a special birdfeeder outfitted with electronics. It shows the bird at the feeder, gives you the type and info on the bird and even tells you if it's a repeat visit from the same bird. She can share the videos with friends and family, too! It's really something! I've been a bird enthusiast my whole life ever since my Dad put a feeder up on Mom's clothesline pole outside the kitchen window and put the Golden Book bird guide on the kitchen counter. LOL

Cowboy, have you had any time between snow falls to enjoy your train hobby? And thanks for the offer of sending the snow ....that would actually be a "thanks, but not thanks"!!

                                Not today...
