5:19am in Alberta, 24 more please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:
    Jude58 dill Ginger999 Rava

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

That's too bad about your brother-in-law Ginger, especially this time of year. Amazing that they are getting him in so quickly for a replacement!

Good to see you right back on the wagon Rava, you'll get through today and this evening just fine I think.

I haven't been around a group that's drinking for quite a while Jude, but it is a good reminder of what can happen if we get complacent. When it got to about 4" of snow I went out to try and stay on top of it, my electric shovel worked great, but the battery only lasted about 1/2 hour. Lucky thing I have a bunch of those batteries!

It's definitely a white Christmas for us dill! And thanks for the book recommendation, I'll definitely be checking it out.

Cleared about 4" of snow yesterday and looks like a little bit less to shovel this morning. Got 2 batteries charged up but don't know if it will be enough as I also have 2 neighbor's driveways and sidewalks to do this morning. Might let Bubba use the electric and I'll use a regular shovel.

        Merry Christmas, "framily"!

Rava, I'm proud of you for sticking to your plan to play with gkids and drink coke. I'm with you about the next life. We need a break. Lol Today will be fine, you got this!

I talked to BIL yesterday. He's in pretty good spirits, all things considered. I hooked him up with a shoulder replacement group on Facebook. I joined one for knee replacement and have found it helpful. Much like MWO, really.

Waves to all my pals and Merry Christmas to you all.

          Merry Christmas!!!

Thank you, Cowboy, for that lovely greeting, and all the lovely greetings over all these years! Sounds like you're having a "white on white Christmas" this year. I wonder what Bubba will think of the electric shovel. Hope you let us know if she takes it for a spin!

Rava, I'm so impressed with you pulling back and stopping at a 1/2 bottle. I am certain I would have done what Jude said she would have done. So you should be proud of yourself for that, and for getting through all these family drinking events. I know how hard that must be. I came from a culture of drinking in my family and I sometimes think that if I hadn't moved so far from my childhood home that I would never have had a chance of getting free.

Jude, thanks for the description of the party and the drinkers. I appreciated you putting it in perspective. It's so good to remember what it is I don't want to be doing. I would be slurring and laughing and saying nonsensical things and wouldn't even remember half of the evening by the next morning! Not to mention the hangover.... A hangover on Christmas morning is not good.

Hello Ginger, hope you are enjoying your knee freedom! So sorry for what happened to you BIL! May I please join your Ladder Avoidance Club?

          Hiya', Mul!

A quiet Christmas morning here. It's actually in the 50s(F) this morning!! It's kind of foggy and gray. I bet Rudolph saved the day for us here in south/western Ohio!

          Not today...

          Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.
