Evening Cafe. Oh Jude I feel for you. We, in Australia, have had some really weird weather too. Not as harsh as you but places have been flooding which have never flooded. Record amount of rainfall in our desert areas and lots of rain wrecking our agricultural areas. Prices of food rising exponentially and now, of course, petrol prices rising too. Bloody hell! What next? Really hope your patio roof holds up.

I am really pleased I have shaken myself off and decided to forge on. Gratefulness is such a powerful thing, especially when you think of what a lot of people are suffering through at the moment. I HATE war. Just can't and refuse to understand it.

Anyway time to watch my favourite show on TV and really hope everyone has a lovely day. I truly do.

    Night night.

Good morning Cafe. Jude, I am so sorry about your porch roof. WOW that is crazy! This weather is nuts. Up north at our tiny house they are calling for severe storms today. Flights are cancelled, etc. Should be interesting to hear about it and hope no damage to anyones homes. The tea thing is working for me so far. I took my wine coozie filled with blueberry ice tea and no one flinched an eye. It was satisfying to drink from it with no buzz. I used to make kombucha and this gives me those kind of vibes. Brewing, straining the loose tea, etc. I hope everyone has a good monday with decent weather! 24 more please and thank you.

Hopefully the old shingled roof will keep most of the rain out Jude. I imagine with the cost of things the metal roof will be expensive to replace, will it be covered under insurance?

Getting out early for your hikes to beat the heat sounds like a good plan Ginger, and try and stay away from those snakes!

Our weather has been a bit crazy this winter as well Peachie, such drastic swings from day to day.

I think your tea idea is a pretty good one Rava, and you can send some of those deviled eggs my way!

          Waves to dill and Mulburry...

Speaking of weather swings, we're supposed to get some snow this morning then warming up and changing to freezing rain in the afternoon. As if things aren't icy enough around here already!

          Not today...

Well that's a bummer, Jude. Do you have a temporary plan with the rain coming?

Rava, I'd love to make my own kombucha. It's so good for gut health.

Hey Mul! I've been putting on a few trail miles but now it's getting too hot to do much outside except float in the pool. Twenty degrees above normal. Wowza! I'm ready for spring hikes in the PNW.

Peachie, how do you like to spend your days? Hobbie?

Dill, are the games you play all New York Times games? I've seen several different wordle games in the app store.

ABC, I think your winters keep you pretty active. I'd hate to try and keep up with you!

Exercise and floating in the pool is my big day. Ready for the 25th to get here! I'll take another day

Ginger, the Connections is through New York Times, the Quordle is on Merriam Webster I think, and the Octordle is through Brittanica. Quordle is a grid of 4 5 letter words to solve and the Octordle is 8 5 letter words to solve. Connections is about trying to find sets of words that go together by category. It can be a bit overwhelming on a daily basis, but it's one way my brother and I have to check in with each other daily even though we are miles apart. He's in Florida.

Jude, what a bummer about the roof! We have been having all the wind too and today the temps are dropping as well. I think we have another day of the wind. It's awful!

Hello to Cowboy, Rava and Mul. I'm keeping this short because I'm still working things out here with the new laptop. For some reason MWO came up with teeny-tiny text and I can barely see what I am doing! I have to figure out how to change that....

              Not today.

Happy St. Patrick's day! There will be a lot of partying going around today but I won't be amongst them.

Thankfully we didn't get the heavy rain that was predicted yesterday so the roof held up. The entire back porch needs to be torn down and replaced. We have been putting it off but now it looks like it had better be done sooner rather than later.

Peachie, what is your favorite tv show? I'm always looking for something good to watch. I'm glad that you are feeling better emotionally, and making a gratitude list is a great way to shake off the blues.

Rava, you seem to have found a good way to help beat those cravings, and no one can tell that you're having a non-alcoholic drink. Yay!

Waves to Cowboy, Ginger and Mul!

Good morning Cafe! Jude, so glad the roof held up and that the storms did not bring heavy rain. Cowboy, sending 6 deviled eggs your way! LOL. I accidentally drank caffeinated tea yesterday afternoon and was up at 3 am. UGH. I wont make that mistake again. The loose tea trick is working so far. Mr R and I have a cup around 330 or 4 pm and I am not thinking about drinking so it’s a win win for me. I am hoping to keep it up. Caffeine free teas only for me. Heading to my volunteer job today. Many people are leaving due to new management. I will just see how it goes. Dill, I hope you increase that font so you can see what you are doing. Hi to everyone and Happy Tuesday and Happy St Patricks Day! 24 more please and thank you.

Mul, I just saw your post about refurbished items. I expect you are right that it is just hit or miss. We just happened to get a "miss"! When the tech at the computer repair place opened it up to wipe the hard drive to remove our personal info, he said it was corroded and looked like it had been exposed to moisture at some point. Anyway, all's well that ends well. We got a full refund of our money for the purchase. And I love casseroles too!

Hope you got through all that wicked wind and rain/snow, Jude, and that your old roof held up for the most part. I, for one, will be glad to see this winter go! I doesn't seem to want to though. Speaking of interesting shows, I have been looking forward to PBS putting on the mini series of the Count of Monte Christo. It is set to start on our local station March 22nd. You might look for that one, Jude. I've heard that it is very well done and true to the book.

Ginger, Rava, Cowboy and Peachy, big waves to you all! Maybe you all would like the Monte Christo series? I bet so.

Cross post, Rava! Yes! I did manage to increase my font size! Thanks for asking. I wondered about the tea when you mentioned it. I figured you were going with herbal teas. I can't drink regular coffee or tea in the afternoon without paying the price! Nice that the tea is working for you otherwise.

Is your back porch very big Jude? If it's the one you sit in for coffee in the morning then it might be nice to have a new one to use for that purpose.

There are probably a few settings you're going to have to get used to or change on the Mac dill, but at least you've got a nice working computer now.

Floating around in a pool sounds like a good way to beat the heat Ginger, and swimming is good exercise as well.

                          Glad you're feeling better Peachie!

Are you able to make different teas Rava, or have you found the one you like best already. I've never been much of a tea drinker except for Arizona Iced Tea and I do drink a fair bit of that.

If I go anywhere this morning it will be with skates on lol. We did get quite a bit of freezing rain last night and everything is like a skating rink out there. It should melt off this afternoon though as it's supposed to be sunny and well above freezing.

Headed out to the desert at 730a to beat the heat. I don't know how people survive this heat in the summer! Well, some don't I guess. More floating this afternoon!

Waves to all my pals! I'll take another day of freedom
