100mm of rain, wow! We got a decent amount here but nowhere near that much... but enough to put a damper on the fire just outside of town at least.

We haven't had much rain here lately and it looks as though we won't be getting any soon. Mr. J hooked up a motor which pumps water from the creek so that we can water the garden without draining our well. Works pretty good!

Rava, it's a great idea to have a plan for not drinking at the wedding. You can't get drunk if you say no to that first drink.

Mr. J's niece is here visiting and it's her birthday tomorrow so we're going to make her a carrot cake from scratch. Yummy!

Jude, Mr. J sounds very much like Mr. D. He too set up a pump to run water from a nearby creek that is sometimes swelled with rain and he can top up our pond with it from time to time.

Good morning Cafe. Dill and Jude, good thinking on the diverting the rain water to help with your garden! Hi Mul, good to see you checking in. Hi to Ginger!! Last night was the rehearsal dinner and the wine was flowing. I was able to drink Diet Coke and when the waiter went to pour champagne for the toast I covered my glass and said no thank you. I then poured water in the champagne glass and still toasted with everyone. A woman sitting across from me had 6 glasses of wine. I was amused and thankful that it was not me! I feel like I got this for tonight! Hope everyone has a sober and safe day. 24 more please and thank you. I will be here for tomorrow’s breakfast Cowboy, sober and accountable!

ABC, we are renting a house. It belongs to a friend so it's not in a rental pool. It was built in 1895 and has 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It's been in her family since the 40s. It's the coolest old house and they've maintained it well. You'd have to on the coast or it would be a pile of rubble by now. Lots of our family will be coming and going the next few weeks. None of us that will be staying the full two weeks are drinkers so that's off the table.

Jude and Dill, I know you appreciate your handy hubbies! Mine is not at all. If I can't do it and my sons are busy, it has to be hired out. But he's fantastic with $ so I won't complain.
