Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Waves to the gang... not much new here, need the rain to stop and the sun to come out so I can get the grass cut before I need a swather to do it lol.
Have a great day y'all!Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Ha! I hear you on that grass, Cowboy. Ours really high too. Often at this time of year is stops growing and turns brown. Not this year though! Well, if you do have to use the swather, at least you know how to handle one.
Yes Jude, we got our electric bill in the mail yesterday and I just didn't have the heart to open it up. Electric costs are going up too.
Another couple of days in the 90's and then finally we get a break.
Not much going on around here. We are contacting some Amish tradesman to see if they can make us a set of custom barn doors for our old barn. The lower story won't close anymore so we can't shut to cows out if they are in the paddock. Something tells me we'll be in for a shock about how much the repair/replacement will be!!
Hi Rava, Ginger and Mul!
24 more for all of us here, please.

Last day for all the young ones. They leave tomorrow and then it will be quiet again. I'm too old for night after night of noise. This will not happen again! At least not with us. Lol
I'll take another day! God grant the patience to get through it!

Hopefully the cat will be okay Jude and the vet bill isn't too bad.
I imagine the barn door repairs might be more than you expect dill with the high cost of everything right now, but I would think the Amish would be pretty reasonable with their labor rate.
I can't put up with a lot of noise anymore either Ginger. Bubba and I live a pretty quiet life and noise gets to me real quick.
I didn't get the grass cut yesterday but it's supposed to be sunny most of the day today so hopefully I can get at it after lunch.

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, your post made me laugh out loud. After 1 full day of the grands I am done. I cant imagine many days with noise and chaos. I am too old for that as well. LOL. We love our quiet evenings! Jude, I hope your cat is ok. I guess tomorrow you can tell us the vet bill and her condition. Cowboy, hopefully you can get those fields mowed without a sweater on! Dill hope you can get those barn doors fixed for a fair price. However I dont even know what is fair anymore. Everything is so expensive. We took our vehicle to ask about repainting the hood which is messed up. We were quoted $4k. Mr. R ordered spray paint from Amazon for $22 and sprayed it himself. It is not perfect but not bad for an old truck. Thanks for the excellent breakfast Cowboy. OK off to do absolutely nothing today. Wishing everyone a great and sober day!

Whew! I'm glad I'm not alone with the noise. I was feeling like a cranky old lady. Wait, I am! Lol The young people hit the bottle after I hit the hay. Glad I missed that nonsense.
Jude, I hope your kitty is OK. Sending kitty prayers.
ABC, thanks for breakfast! Hi, Dill, Mul, Slo.
I'll take another day of freedom!

Well, I don't understand what the fuss is about! I absolutely love noise and chaos. I thrive on it! If it weren't for Mr. D being such an old crank, I'd have folks in every night!
(not!)
Jude, I hope your cat is doing OK.
Rava, Mr. R is a man after my own heart! It sounds like a good fix to me, for an old truck.
Excellent breakfast, Cowboy. I'll let you know what we find out about the materials and labor cost as we move forward.
One of the volunteers brought in a big bag of jalapeDill

Here's to another Two-four! (by which I mean another 24 hours, not a "twofer" of beer, haha)

After a three hour wait and 500 dollars later, we were able to bring Ellie home yesterday. The vet isn't real sure what caused her symptoms but they gave her some pain medicine and antibiotics. She seems a lot better today, but she's still not eating. Hope that she will be ok.
I agree about having a low tolerance for crowded noisy people and places. I'm so done with all of that!

Mul, ha! I knew right away what you meant with your "Here's to another two-four!" comment. But I can see why you clarified, just in case. "Twofer" sounds so similar and means the polar opposite! It's crazy green here, too for August.
Jude, I'm glad your kitty seems to be feeling better. Hope the appetite picks up today. Is she an indoor/outdoor cat? Maybe she caught and ate something that made her feel ill?
I can see my post got cut off somehow yesterday. I didn't notice until this morning. The rest of it said that a volunteer brought me a bag of jalapeno peppers last week so we made a batch of Stuffed Poppers to make in the air fryer. We froze most but ate a batch yesterday morning with our scrambled eggs. They were spicy, but delicious! I can't remember the rest of the post.
Thank you for another excellent breakfast, Cowboy!
24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.
