That was a devastating, heartbreaking way to lose. Not gonna lie, I definitely felt like pounding a few shots after that one, but not today (well yesterday, I should say).
This amazing weather continues, sunny and nice moderate temps with a breeze (the kind of weather you could just be outside all day), sure helps keep ones spirits up though!

Back in the day, in the house where I grew up, one summer we had this toad that kept coming into the house. We'd put it back out into the forrest, like 100m from the house, and the next day, it'd be back in the house again. It was hilarious.

I traveled 2 and 3/4 hours each way the other day to visit the relatives, Cowboy.
      Love me some pancakes too!

That’s a funny story about the “pet” toad, Mul! We are getting some nice weather here now too -such a relief after the Winter.

Yes, that’s totally it, Ginger! Today I was so scared about being alone again, like my bad day yesterday in poor health; that I called my daughter & son-in-law, and was able to go up there for the day! Oh, it was wonderful!! The three little grandchildren were all so happy to see me and so welcoming. It just completely warmed my heart. I wish I could live there!

Hope you got a good crab count, Rava!

Loved the story about the determined little toad, Mul! I agree it was hilarious. It reminded me of a friend of mine who once told me at the staff lunch table of finding a toad hopping across her kitchen floor all tangled up in dust-bunnies. I laughed and told her she must be a real "rube" to have a toad living in her house. She had to look up "rube" because she had never heard the word before and we both ended up laughing over the whole thing. It was the beginning of a really fun work relationship. To this day we call each other Rube and Mudge. She's the rube and I'm the curmudgeon, "mudge".

        Have a great day, everyone!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Yes, a tough way to lose Mulburry, but there's always next year.

I also had to look up rube dill, I'm sure I could be classed as one as well lol. Sunday breakfasts can't stop, don't want my friends going hungry lol.

Hope the crabbing went well Rava, I'll bet they are darn tasty!

Waves to the rest of the gang!

Yes, I am a rube, too and proud of it!

To save other's the time of looking it up, it basically means a country bumpkin.

Yay! I slept in today so I was able to enjoy one of Cowboys fabulous breakfasts! Woo hoo! Yummy!

Rava, I agree with you about not putting toads in your freezer. Can you imagine reaching for a bag of peas and grabbing a frozen toad instead? No thanks!

Dill, for what it's worth, I don't think that you're a curmudgeon. Funny story though.

Slo, would it be impossible for you to live near your daughter? I know you have that condo but it doesn't bring you joy. Does it make sense at our ages to deny ourselves what brings us joy? I think not

Waves to all! I'll take another day

Wow! I just read my post from yesterday and I apparently thought that it was Sunday. I slept in again today and it's so refreshing!

Mr. J's sister is not doing well and is in the hospital under comfort care. The cancer has spread to her kidneys, spleen and liver. Cancer really sucks!

I'm in for another 24 hours of freedom...

Hmmm, I wonder if you call it sleeping in once your retired Jude, or just slept a bit longer than usual lol

Not much new here, still moving along pretty steadily without and major issues, but we could sure use some rain!

Good morning Cafe. Jude I am very sorry for your SIL. Cancer does suck!! I am here today after screwing up yesterday and drinking. Woke up sweating, guilty and all the awful feelings that go with being hungover and sick. It’s my own damned fault. I know what to do and I will do it. No trigger except a pool party with neighbors. It was available and I said why not. And I kept saying why not. I am just not wired like a normal person. I know better. Today will be a good day with no drinking. UGH….. Thanks for listening. 24 hours please!

Jude, when I read your post yesterday, I wondered if you were off by a day because you slept in and it somehow disoriented you! LOL I didn't sleep in this morning, but I did just stay in bed and rested. It's a dreary, rainy morning so there was no need to get out of bed in a hurry. So sorry to hear about Mr. J's sister. I agree wholeheartedly: cancer sucks.

I'll join you in 24 hours of freedom.
