Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

We don't get to see all of our kids as often as we'd like either Slo, time and distance is a hinderance for all of us I'm sure. That's why we have to enjoy whatever time we get with them and chat in between visits.

You have such fantastic views from your windows Ginger, not sure I'd leave that room lol. We hardly use our TV as well, except for the odd movie and Bubba and her Hallmark channel lol. We do like watching the reality series "Farmer Wants A Wife" though.

I bet it's nice to be home Jude and getting back to the new daily routine.

I did give up chocolate once for Lent a few years back dill, but it won't be happening again lol.

Have fun with the ladies today Rava and enjoy the lunch.

I have to run to the city one day this week to pick up industrial bleach to shock chlorinate the well at the farm. I haven't done it for a few years and I could tell by the end of harvest last year that it needed doing. It won't be long now till I open up the camper for the year and I want the water ready to go.

ABC, I've not heard of shocking a well. Interesting.

No plans for Easter here either and I'm kind of hoping it stays that way. I'm beat!

Waves to all. I'll take another day

You all are right: it’s ok to not have plans for Easter. I was hoping my little sister & her family or my brother & his wife might invite the extended family over for an Easter gathering, but they didn’t. The girls & their husbands and children are going to ex-HB’s for Easter.

I drove today, and have just arrived home now! It doesn’t feel like home here, but technically it is. I stayed one extra day, so three full days and two travel days. Hopefully that still counts for three days before “houseguests & fish start to stink”!

I have gotten into the habit of having chocolate every day lately. It helps get me through the day.
D3 & her HB have a bedtime snack together every evening while they watch TV for awhile after the babies are in bed. They’re young yet though!

I never heard of shocking a well either, ABC. You know so much about how everything works! I admire that.

Jude, I enjoyed being away from daily reality and daily chores & errands as well.

Have a great AF luncheon today, Rava!
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Cowboy, Mr. J and I also enjoy watching The farmer wants a wife. I enjoy seeing the different farms that the men live on, but sometimes the drama between the women is a little much. Are you watching the Australian or the American show?

Slo, I'm sorry that your place doesn't feel like home. Have you ever thought of getting a dog or cat, it really can help with the loneliness. Just a thought.

Who wants to join me in another 24 hours of freedom?

Hello Cafe! Cowboy I watch Farmer wants a wife too. LOL. It’s just a fun and mindless show! I have heard of shocking your well. We had to shock ours a few times throughout the years. One time was when my husband accidently dropped his flashlight down the well. We were advised to shock it. Slo, have you ever considered moving closer to D3? Just wondering. I am off to volunteer job today. Hope everyone has a good and sober day. 24 more hours without obsessing about wine please and thank you!!!

Slo, I have a habit of having a couple of Doves dark chocolates every evening after our meal. That's what I was intending to give up for Lent, but failed. 'The spirit was willing but the flesh was weak" as the saying goes.

Cowboy, we have been through the process of shocking the well a few times here over the years. It'll be good to have it done before your season starts.

Jude, I just noticed that program, The Farmer wants a Wife, the other day. I'm not sure where I saw it advertised. What service is it on? I'll give it a look-see.

Rava, I have been looking at fish monitors but have not yet bought one. I want to surprise Mr. D with it but I am not good at buying "tech" devices, so I'm going to ask around and see if I can get some input from others that are more savvy about these things.

Ginger, now that you are settled back in, do you have any projects planned? How is your knee doing these days?

Mul, hope you're back to 100%.

24 more for all of us please and thank you.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I'm just wondering Slo if there's a place near you that provides meals for the homeless or less fortunate, that might be a good place to volunteer to help serve their Easter meal? Our kids share their time between their mom and Bubba and I so sometimes the holidays seem lonely without them but we always chat with them on the holidays.

We are watching the American version Jude, I wonder how much of the "drama" is real or scripted, but it makes for light entertainment anyway lol.

I'm not sure why they call it "shocking" the well Ginger, I usual say shock chlorinating and I'm not even sure why that is said. I guess it's about the high concentration of bleach used over a short time. It's usually done to clean the well, pump, and waterlines as well as kill any iron bacteria that's in the water.

Shock chlorinating seems an apt description of the process, Cowboy.

I will have to look up that show, now that I know when & where it’s on! I used to be able to look up what’s on TV online on Zap2It, but that is defunct now.

I’m all done having cats & dogs; I want to be able to pick up & go when I want without having to arrange pet care. I had to put my 17-year-old cat down a year ago; that was awful.

I can’t serve meals to the homeless; I get too dizzy and weak and too in pain with the neuropathy and the POTS & all that. I can barely manage my own activities of daily living -need to take lots of breaks.

It’s just that we always got together as a big extended family for Easter. I hosted so many large Easter gatherings over the years. But now my brothers & sisters just have Easter with their nuclear families, or skip it. They make sure Mother is invited, but not the rest of us. Not sure why the change.

D3 lives too far away from everyone else, so no; I won’t move there. Tomorrow I will head up to D1’s for the day!

I'm still struggling with joint pain, Dill. Thanks for asking. I'm working with my doc but don't have much hope of a resolution. It's osteoarthritis and there's very little they can do for it.

ABC, that makes complete sense about shocking the well!

Waves all. Counting my blessings! I'll take another day of freedom.

Good morning cafe! Dill I've been watching Farmer wants a wife on Hulu, but I believe that I also saw it on the Roku channel. (Streaming)
Cowboy, I'm pretty sure that a lot of the show is scripted, so much drama. There is a Farmer wants a wife that is filmed in Australia which I like a lot better than the American version. Either way, it's good for when you want to watch something mindless.

It will just be Mr. J and I for Easter, and we'll probably just have a baked ham with potatoes and a veggie. Keeping it simple.

24 more for all of us please...
