Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

We got quite a bit done yesterday considering we should down for 5 hours during the heat of the day. Looks like a few more days of this heat then we return to more normal temps. We are doing swathed oats right now and I'll see if I can get a video of it today to share with y'all.
Have a great day everyone as we head into a long weekend!Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Ginger, did you get out of your hand brace? You never said. I hope you did.
Jude, Mr. D isn't much of a drinker, but like Mr. J, he does keep beer in the fridge and he often drinks a single can in the afternoon. It's funny that he has developed this habit relatively recently...maybe a year or so ago. And I find it troubling, but I haven't ever asked him not to. I'm trying to just live with it, but like you, it sometimes really is hard to resist. I resent the fact that he can drink so normally and I can't and that beer reminds me of that fact when I see it in the fridge.
Rava, I will stay AF for as long as my crazy brain will let me too! But I am not doing so well today because yesterday, for no particular reason, I bought wine and drank it last night. I'm feeling the remorse and shame of it today. So don't think you are the only one who fails occasionally. I guess the "reason" is just the addiction and a moment of weakness on my part.
Cowboy, you are so lucky to have Bubba in your life, and she is lucky to have you, too. Did she have anything to do with why you quit?
Hello Mul! So glad you got hold of your drinking so young.
Well, I best get on with my day. It will be a long one because of the self-inflicted depression caused by the alcohol. Ugh.
24 for all of us here today.

Dill, I am out of my brace. Just have to wear a small one when I'm working or around the littles to protect it. It takes about 12 wks to heal (I'm at 8 wks)and a year to get back to 100%. Sometimes when I drink, it's just to get out of my crazy brain for awhile. Birdie and I talked about this years ago. We are both type A and just need to shut that out. The way I did that, was to drink it away.
Rava, you've got this!
Jude, glad you're feeling better! !
ABC, do you work through the weekend?
Hey Mul!
I'll take another day!

Ginger, so happy to hear you are out of the brace and making good progress! Also, I meant to comment on your plans to limit your time in AZ to avoid the drinking situations. I think that sounds like a good plan. I know that for me the temptation would be too great if I had a lot of exposure to social events where al was a major component. I'm really happy to spend quiet evenings watching movies or reruns of good TV shows. However, I think what you and Birdie talked about years ago is my problem too. Sometimes you just want to shut everything out. But I always regret it in the end.Dill
