ABC, when you say 2,900 acres to go, it sounds like it will take forever but I know you guys will make short work of it, weather permitting and it's ready.

Peanut! Love that name, Jude. Cyrus has many nicknames. He was seven months old when we adopted him and his name was Cyclone! Well, old people don't need cyclones so I quickly changed it. Haha

Dill, have a good volunteer day!

Rava, thats bull about your window! Can you submit that bill to your insurance without a premium increase? Might be worth checking.

I'm going to do a mosaic table top. I've never done it before so I'm gathering tools and watching YouTubes in preparation! My thumb is almost 100 percent! Wish me luck! I'll take another day of freedom!

Ginger, you sure are busy! What's involved in making a mosaic table top? Glad that your thumb is doing well. It's amazing how we take our bodies for granted until something goes wrong.

Cowboy, glad that your new choppers are in and hope that they fit better than the last ones.

Rava, I hear you about all the hate in the world right now. I'm trying to focus on the good in people, but some days it's not easy.

      Hey dill and Mul!

      24 more please...

Ginger that's great that you and Mr. G gave some time to volunteer for your SIL's organization. Do they try to help locate lost children? I googled the name but didn't find a specific website. Some that I found were for lost pets. Great news about your hand! Have fun with the mosaic project.

Cowboy, I think the odds are good that your replacement lower teeth will work better. It was just a matter of giving them a bit more height. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for sure. That sounds like a whole lotta acres to harvest. Is that just you or are you part of a team?

Rava, I have been very upset by the events you mentioned yesterday as well. Also by all the chaos and hate that we have been experiencing across the country in the past decade or so. I'm not surprised by it so much
as unnerved and saddened. I hear what you are saying about staying off social media. I'm trying to limit my social media use as well. But at the same time, I don't think one can get information about what's going on if you rely only on conventional news sources. So it's kind of a conundrum.

Jude, I imagine your new kitty's name will be evolving as you get to know each other over time. I'd like to throw in the suggestion of Sweet Pea to see if that suits her.

Waves to Mul, thinking of Slo.

        Not today.
        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, I was wondering about your volunteer job as well. Is it helping with lost children at the fair? I think that would be a great job helping with lost kids. Cowboy, glad for your new choppers and the fact that you are half done with the crops. I found a cool little app which i downloaded yesterday called Pocket Breath Coach. I actually broke down and paid the 6.99 annual fee. It’s got a lot of breathing exercises to help quiet your brain. I like it. You can also just use the free breathing exercise it comes with without paying anything. Just another thing in my tool kit when stress overwhelms me. Sunday night is the beach bbq so i have to get myself ready for a NON drinking night on the beach. Slo, if you are reading our posts please check in. Same for you Techie! Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday. 24 more please and thank you

That's great news about your thumb Ginger, I'll bet you're glad you have full use of it again. I had to Google that mosaic tabletop, looks impressive! How big are you going to make it? 2900 acres does sound like a lot, but we average about 325 acres a day so it drops quickly.

It will be nice to get my teeth back Jude, and not be afraid of scaring people when I smile lol.

Yes dill, it was giving the four front teeth more height so that my eye teeth didn't look so tall. Hopefully they did a good job of it. There are a number of us on the crew, I'm always in combine #2, Jacob drives the grain cart, Corny and Corey do the trucking, and Scot or Meyer run combine #1 depending on who is available. It's a great crew to work with!

We did finish up the wheat last night so this morning it will be moving all the equipment back to the yard and give everything a good cleaning and servicing before getting started on the canola. It'll be nice using pick up headers for awhile instead of the straight cut headers, so much less to be watching..,

I imagine we'll be cross posting Rava as I see you're online as well lol.

I was right Rava, we did cross post lol. Sounds like a pretty cool app and hopefully it helps quieten down your brain chatter.

Good morning! I planned to go see the littles today and keep them busy while Mom canned pears. They've all been exposed to Covid so now I'm wavering. I'm not afraid of covid but have my final visit with hand doc next week. He's so busy, I'd hate to miss that. I want to get this adventure behind me! What to do, what to do?

The table I'm doing is about 36". I want to use old china and cut my own pieces. I'm not in too much of a hurry because its a lot of hand tool work. I doubt I start before we head south. Just depends on doc next week.

Rava, that app sounds cool! I'll check it out. You got this beach BBQ! You know what to do and maybe this app can help.

ABC, it's nice your wrapping up with something that feels "easier" ;-) for you. All looks hard to me!

Dill, "Sweet Pea" that's a great variation to Peanut. Hey, how's Lily and Pumpkin doing?

Jude, mosaic work entails finding China plates with cool patterns and cutting shapes to glue to the table top. You can do free-form designs or pictures, if you want. Once thats all done you use a fine grit grout and fill in the spaces. That's all it takes. You can make the design as intricate as your creative juices feel like doing! It's very much like doing regular tile work, just tiny pieces.

Hey to Mul, Techie and Slo.

I'll take another day of freedom!

Ginger, thanks for the explanation of mosaic tile work. It sounds like a fun project and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Cowboy, wow, 300 acres a day? That's impressive! When do you get your new choppers?

Dill, love the name Sweet Pea! I'll see what Mr. J thinks about it. I'm also saddened about the events in the news lately. So much hatred in this world today. Thankfully there are still a lot of good people around and I try to surround myself with them instead of worrying about things that I can't change.

Rava, the breathing app sounds like a good way to relax, and hopefully it will help you get through the beach BBQ.

We've had a beautiful stretch of weather here with sunshine every day and temps in the seventies. I could take that year round.

                    Hi Mul and Slo!

                    Not today...

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, I look forward to seeing your finished mosaic table at some point. Sounds like hard work but I bet it will be beautiful. Jude, glad you like the name Sweat Pea and I hope Mr. J likes it as well. Good job on the naming Dill! It’s a sweet name for sure! Cowboy, have fun in those fields 300 acres a day. WOW. Sounds massive to a non farmer like me. Going to Grandsons soccer game this morning then talking a walk to the beach boardwalk with Mr. R. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday! 24 more please!!

I get my teeth back Tuesday morning Jude and I can't wait to be able to chew again lol. We're having much the same weather but the daytime highs are running in the mid to high eighties. Definitely good harvest weather.

That is a tough decision Ginger, little or Doc. You said they were just exposed to covid, are any of them experiencing symptoms?

You'll do just fine at the b-b-que Rava. Take along your sparkling water and enjoy the meal.

Sweet Pea is such a good name dill, what made you think of that?

Spent 7 hours cleaning and servicing all the equipment yesterday and then got started on the swathed canola. Only a few days of that though and then it's back to the straight cut headers for the standing canola. I might get a few days break in-between as it doesn't look like the standing canola is quite ready yet.
