Good to see you're getting prepared if you're stormed in Rava and that you have a place to go if you're forced to evacuate. Yes, we do turkey with all the trimmings for Thanksgiving, with pumpkin pie and whipped cream for dessert. We'll be doing our Thanksgiving dinner here in Veg with Bubba's mom on Sunday.
I'll give Bruce a belly rub or two for you Ginger for sure! Hope you weren't too sore to enjoy your lunch with the old work buddy.
Yes, the other Bruce will be visiting as well dill, we'll actually be looking after him on Monday as Amanda will be dropping him off when her and my ex drive through on their way to Adam and Darcie's. They'll stop and pick him up on their way back to Vermilion later in the day. Then they will be back Tuesday along with Brandie for another day visit and Brandie will stay and spend the night with us.
We're off to Costco this morning, then stopping in at Adam and Darcie's to see their new place and visit with them and Ashley. Cowboy, you're in for a wonderful weekend! Have a great visit and give Bruce a pat on the head for me! I had you on my mind this week, Cowboy. Mr. D and I borrowed Lonesome Dove from the library. I bet you enjoyed that when it came out way back in the 80's. It was really fun seeing it again.
The perfect cowboy movie! I wonder if I can get the audio book from the library sometime.

Heading out around 830a. Our house is only an our from here in a mountain town called Roslyn. We keep the fall trip closer to home. However, today we will drive over the pass to the big city for the day so we can stop at Trader Joe's. Love that store! Looking forward to 5 days with my sisters! No one drinks anymore so that's off the table! Woot woot

Ginger, having fun with your sisters must be much easier now that no one drinks anymore. What a difference that can make. I really miss my siblings, especially during the holidays. Sure wish that they lived closer. How many houses do you own? I've never heard you mention having a house in Roslyn.
Dill, I love the idea of having a pig roast at the local feed store. It sounds like you live in an area much like mine, and I'm sure that you love it as much as I do!
Looks like apple sauce canning is on the agenda for today because we went out and picked 24 pounds of apples. We are having a ham dinner tonight and a nice jar of apple sauce will go good with it. Yummy!

A pig roast?? Count me in! I'll bet it was delicious dill! Yes, Lonesome Dove is one of my favorites, so many great actors in it.
Have fun making and canning the applesauce Jude, I'll bet it will taste great with the ham.

Any more news on the storm Rava? I haven't seen much about it on the news up here. We did have a heck of a wind all day yesterday and a bit of rain but nothing like what's in store for you I imagine.
Got our Costco shopping done and had a great visit with Adam, Darcie, Ashley, and Brandie! Good morning Cafe. Cowboy sounds like you have a great few days planned. Enjoy your turkey today and your time with the other Bruce and family! Thank you for breakfast. I am drinking coffee, eating your breakfast, and smelling my wonderful pumpkin pecan candle. It’s windy and pouring rain but looks like the storm may be almost past us. So far, so good. We tied down the patio furniture and will probably just leave it since we only have 2 weeks left. Ginger, We dont leave unless he have to. There is nothing worse than spending time in someone else’s home just waiting. I will take my chances. If this was a Cat 5 hurricane, I would evacuate. Ginger, have fun with your sisters! Stopping at Trader Joes would be fun. Your mention of it reminded me of long ago times when I used to go to Joe's for a bottle of "two buck Chuck". I don't remember how it got the name, but it was a bottle of chardonnay that was a promotional item to get folks in the store. Did you have that in your area? You wouldn't need anything like that now that you and your sisters have all moved on!

Happy AF thanksgiving to all the Canadalandians on here (and happy weekend to the rest)! I'm back in Vancouver spending it with my brother. Of course the first few days I was welcomed with typical Vancouver rain but it's supposed to be gorgeous and sunny tomorrow and all of next week! Looking forward to some ocean walks and some different scenery!Comment

Jude, I'm so sorry to hear your pneumonia returned! I'm absolutely amazed at the amount of work you were getting done while you were sick with developing pneumonia! You're amazing! Take all the rest you need and follow the doctor's advice until you are all well. If you haven't managed to do the applesauce yet, don't worry...the apples will keep until you can work them up.
