ABC, the snakes move around at night and into the morning because it cools down a little. They are getting full bellies before their big sleep.

Jude, good luck to Mr J.

I got my cardiac clearance for surgery yesterday but they did want me to have an echo and stress test. It's not required before surgery but needs to be done due to a right bundle branch block that I was diagnosed with years ago. Anywho... getting closer to having all the I's dotted and T's crossed.

Waves, Rava, Dill and Mul. Let's all take another day of freedom!

Rava, I haven't seen the Northern lights with my own eyes as it seems to happen after my bedtime! But I have seen some beautiful pictures of the phenomenon! I asked a friend at the hospital yesterday if she has seen them and she was delighted to show me her pictures.

Have fun with Bruce, Cowboy! I love Great Danes. They are just so impressive.

Ginger, the snakes is a very good reason to stay indoors at night! I'd be right there with you.

Jude, I hope Mr. J has a successful hunt.

      Hi Mul!

Not much happening here today which is how I like it.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

The lights have been beautiful here too
I'm jealous. I went out to take a look the night they were really supposed to be flaring but I couldn't really see anything (maybe too much light polution here in the city). So I still have them to check off on my bucket list.

Cowboy, are you not able hunt mule deer or are they not as tasty as the whitetail? Mr. J is out hunting right now, and the weather is cooperating with clear skies and cold temps. Fingers crossed...

Ginger, glad that you got clearance for your surgery, and hopefully your upcoming tests are normal. Snakes at night eh? Sounds like the title of a B rated horror film.

            Waves to all!

            24 more please...

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, glad you are almost done with your clearance before surgery. You are on your way! Hope everyone has a great Saturday planned. Im having lunch with a florida friend who also has drinking issues like me. She is a good support. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. 24 more for this old gal!

Mule deer (both buck and doe) licenses are only available through the draw process Jude and we stopped putting in for those draws when we found out that a few of them harvested in our area tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease. Supposedly the disease has never been passed to a human by eating the meat, but we figured just to hunt white tail as they don't get CWD.

Sounds like you're getting closer and closer to getting that new knee Ginger, I'll bet you're looking forward to it.

The Northern Lights are much easier to see and more vibrant when viewed in the country instead of in the city Mulburry, but they are still nice to watch from anywhere.

                Waves to dill and Rava!

I had a good day with Bruce yesterday, took him for a couple of walks and also some play time in the backyard. He's getting better at being here without Amanda being around.

Cowboy, wise choice to stay away from the Mule deer due to the detection of CWD. Better safe than sorry. How many times have we been misled by "experts" giving assurances, either accidentally or intentionally? I bet you did have a great time with Bruce! Glad he is more and more comfortable with you there. I was thinking about Great Danes and how impressive they are and I realized that for me they evoke a sense of the regal, yet also the comic. (Think Scooby-doo)

Jude, B rated horror film captures it perfectly! Title: "Midnight Snake Madness"

Ginger, I'm glad you are getting closer to having your knee done. I hear from so many people with knee problems that it is a game changer!

Rava, nice that you have someone in person that you can talk with. I know how hard you are struggling right now. Hang in there!

Mul, Mr. D had the same experience. He looked, but he couldn't see anything. He was looking at the same time that my friend 7 miles away was snapping her pictures. We live out in the country, so I would have thought we'd have a good chance of seeing it. Maybe he looked out the wrong window. It was so cold and windy that night he didn't want to actually go outside.

Think I'll be baking a birthday cake today for my son. He's turning 44. I can't quite believe it!

                  Not today.

Cowboy, good idea to stay away from mule deer; I wouldn't take a chance on eating the meat either. Glad that Bruce is warming up to you, gaining trust is a slow process but so worth it in the end.

It's cold and rainy out, with temperatures dropping rapidly this afternoon followed by lake effect snow. I was going to go grocery shopping today but that might not happen due to the crappy weather.

I'm in for another 24 hours of serenity...

I'm surprised that Great Danes are such couch potatoes dill. Bruce sure loves his naps but also loves getting in his exercise outdoors. I'll bet the birthday cake was enjoyed by all!

We'll be getting a bunch of snow mid-week by the looks of things Jude, probably not as much as you'll be getting though.

Glad you have a face-to-face friend in the same situation Rava, it's always nice to have the support from someone who understands.

It was a more promising day hunting yesterday, saw quite a few more white tail, as well as mule deer and even a few moose. Nothing with horns though so we'll try again next Saturday.

Good morning Cafe. 80 and sunny here today. Not bad at all. Yesterday I mentioned to my friend at lunch how nice it would be to enjoy a glass of wine since we were sitting basically in the bar area. We both laughed it off, ate our lunch and went shopping. At the end of the shopping trip she asking me how I felt about actually getting 1 glass of wine to end our day together. I said No that would not be in our best interest. Sure glad I said that because today I would be picking myself up off the floor because I know I would have stopped for a bottle of something….. Jeeze this place is an alcoholic state with alcoholic grocery stores! Hope everyone has a great day relaxing! 24 more please and thank you!
