One thing we do to stay sober empyr3al, is that we check in here daily bc we find comfort in knowing that we are all dealing with the same issue and we all here know that it is a daily battle. Some of us here have had incredible success, Cowboy being the clear winner in that category. But some of us still have days when we lose the battle and we need to be with people that we know will understand. We are all here for each other. You seem like a very intense person. When you decide to pursue something, you throw yourself in mind, heart and soul. You probable can't do anything halfway. We don't often talk anymore about alcohol. Just every now and then when we are having a particularly hard time. But even though we don't always talk about alcohol and sobriety here, we all still know it's why we are here. It is the elephant in the room. It's the tie that binds. I'm glad you came here to check in with us. You are obviously having a really hard time right now, and you know, that we here know what that struggle is like. We understand.

Rava, that sounds like a fun thing to do, but I'm like Cowboy....wouldn't want to be stranded there! Did you phones have signal? When we travel to my BIL's house in southern Ohio we go for long stretches without phone signals.

Ginger, I bet it just takes a little longer than you think for those bones to heal. Let us know what the doc says about it.

Jude, I picked up a 750 piece puzzle at Menards today. That ought to help pass some time! Speaking of getting out early, I had to do it again this morning. Mr. D had a knee injection appointment at 7:00am and I decided it would be best if I drove him. My night vision isn't what it used to be, but it's a far sight better than his. So, two early mornings this week for me.

Cowboy, I think you might just be right about that. I have been considering leaving my volunteer position. It's easier said than done though. You do get attached to the people you work with. But, I'm going to be taking time and thinking about it.

    Not today.

PS - Jude you are the one that got us started saying "not today", aren't you? Can you remember the story you shared about it's origin? I think you picked it up at an AA meeting?

From the sounds of things Rava, I wouldn't want to fun out of gas in the areas you go critter scouting lol.

I think you're right Jude, most AA groups don't use the religious approach anymore although I'm sure you can find meetings that still use that approach.

How long do you think you'll stay with your volunteer job dill? I know it's something you like to do but maybe you've put in enough years with them.

Hopefully your PT session was manageable Ginger and the new therapist tuned it down a bit.

Beautiful pic withe drone empyr3al, a far better hobby than drinking. You asked what I do to keep sober; remembering what alcohol turned me into when I was drinking is my biggest motivation to stay quit, and checking in here everyday reminds me that no matter how much sober time you have, it's still just one day at a time for all of us.

Good morning Cafe. Empyr3al I am very sorry about your sister. It sounds like you are having a hard time. Sending good vibes to you. Jude, the drive ended rather abruptly as we forgot to gas up the car so after about 5 miles into the trip we turned around and headed to the nearest gas station. We did see several alligators basking in the sun. 20 miles into the everglades on a bumpy dirt road would probably take a long time doing 15 mph. We will try it again. Ginger, how is that PT going. Hope your pain level is manageable. Hi to Dill, Mull and Cowboy! 24 more please and thank you.
