Good morning! Wish that it would stop raining soon, but it looks like the damp cold temps aren't going anywhere soon. Hopefully it will stop before Memorial day. People seem a little grumpy lately due to the damp gray weather which has been hanging over us for too long. Uggh!
Rava, I didn't know that you had been widowed in the past. That must have been very difficult for you and I'm sorry that you had to go through that.
24 more for all of us please...

You are definitely an artist, whether you think so or not, my dear Ginger! But I guess what matters most is the joy you find in your arts and crafts.
I am fortunate to have missed both divorce and widowhood, thankfully. My thoughts and best wishes go out to you Slo and to all who have gone through and/or are going through it.
It's another rainy day here as well, Cowboy. Not good hay making weather, unfortunately.
24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.Last edited by dill; May 21, 2025, 10:59 AM.

Mornings are a wash for me with this B6 toxicity illness & withdrawal. I am weak, sick, & dizzy all morning.
Dill, Lilly does have a great setup on the farm -what a perfect place for a dog to live! Plenty of space to run and sniff.
Yes, finally someone with real expertise can attend to my foot, if I need orthotics and a lift and a built-up sole. Already he has temporarily modified the orthotics that I have to be more comfortable.
Cowboy, I hope you’re not restless at home and can enjoy it.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with me as I adjust to family gatherings post-divorce. It’s hard.
An appointment was canceled due to rain, so I went up to D1’s house yesterday and spent the day with her and my three little grandchildren! Oh, I loved it. My body & mind feel terrible with all the nerve damage, and it’s a welcome distraction.
Still raining!

Thanks everyone but I sure don't think of myself as an artist. Just a person that loves to stay busy! I'll post the pup when she's done but don't laugh.
Crazy day! Three appts and a meeting. It feels like a work day. Yuk
Waves to all! I'll take another day of freedom

I knew you liked doing crafts Ginger, but a darn fine artist on top of it as well!
Hopefully this new foot doctor will be able to help much more Slo. Glad you're still seeking ways to improve!
Waves to the rest of the gang, still rained out so I get another day at home...

Good morning Cafe. Lots of good sharing today. I am lucky to say that I have never been divorced but I was widowed which really really sucked. Lucky to have met Mr. R who was twice divorced. We have to interact with the mother of his kids many times throughout the year. It used to be awkward now it’s not so bad. Dill, I have a daughter and son in FL, ironically we see them the least. But we are there closer to them during the winter. I would love to have a dog but my common sense tells me no. I am too old for a 15 year commitment. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. Off to the gym for me.

Good morning all! Ginger, I'm sure that your pup drawing will turn out fine. I didn't realize how good of an artist you are. Maybe you could post a pic of the pup drawing when you're finished and are happy with how it turned out.
I am lucky that my ex and I don't have any hard feelings after our divorce and still remain friends.
Slo, so glad that you found a foot doctor and hopefully they can get you some relief.
24 more for all of us please...

Slo, I prefer my former husband's wife over him. Lol I even pitty her sometimes when I'm around them both.
I'm drawing a picture of my friend's pup as a thank you for all her quilting tutoring she's given me. So far it looks like a third grade art project. Not sure she'll ever see it. Bahahaha
I do miss having a dog once in awhile but I've found just being around other people's dogs fixes that. Give me a cat any day. Easy peasy!
ABC, I think all of those things you mentioned plus all the partying, drinking and gathering add to that. Seems like we are constantly saying "no thanks" to gatherings. At home the only gatherings we attend are family ones and that's how we both like it.
Thank you for the kind words. It's inspired me to try a little harder on that pup drawing.
Waves to all! I'll take another day of freedom

Jude and Cowboy, I think you are both wise to forego any more pets at this point in life. I love Lily, of course, but I do think getting her was the wrong choice for us. One of the reasons we got her was for gdaughter to have a dog to play with and train, but she has more or less grown past that interest and is onto other things. She enjoys Lily, but she's not here as much as she used to be and Mr. D and I are left with the fulltime care of a pet that, as you say, ties us down. Oh well. Lily does bring us the joy that pets bring, watching her run, watching her chase the deer across the pasture, playing fetch with her, etc. so I will focus on that.
Rava, you also have a daughter near you in Florida, right? It's good to split the time in both places as long as you feel up to it, I should think.
Hello Slo and Ginger!
Let's all have another 24!

Rava, it sounds like a good setup between Florida and being North for you. The long northern winters get hard. And this way you can keep your tiny house!
Dill, what a nice treat for your grandkids & son!
It’s raining here too.

Thank you for empathizing and for sharing your take & experiences on post divorce awkwardness. My favorite time was at Young Daughter’s swim banquet. Ex-HB, Daughter, & I all sat together, and I felt normal again and slotted back into my regular life! But the last number of events have featured his new significant other, and that has been hard to get used to. I can’t believe how hard divorce is! I must get used to it though.
I have a new foot doctor now, thanks to my daughter who is an O.T. He has more expertise than that dumb regenerative pain clinic that I have been blowing all my money on, and will help me with new orthotics and with a more appropriately modified shoe than what that cobbler has been doing.

Sounds like you and Ginger have the same mindset about staying north year round Rava, do you both think it's because of the travel time, family, or the work involved for each time you change residences?
The nut bread sounds like something I'd enjoy eating dill, send some my way please!
Our furry friends do tie us down Jude, and that's one of the reasons Bubba and I haven't gotten another dog. Bubba does sometimes comment that she misses having Hank around for company when I'm either seeding or harvesting but we both agree that we're better off the way we are now.
I've been divorced for over 25 years Slo and I still find it awkward being around my ex. It's a good thing that there are very few situations that happen where we both have to be in the same room.
Got rained out again yesterday morning so came back to Veg. Sounds like more rain for today and possibly tomorrow so it's just a wait and see for now.

Good morning Cafe. Slo, I am glad your weekend at the graduation turned out well. It was awkward for me for years being around Mr. Rs ex but it has gotten easier over the years and now I think of the ex as his sister. Makes it easier to compartmentalize her presence. Ginger, I could probably live up north full time (although our tiny house is in a seasonal place which you can’t live in year round so we would have to sell it) but Mr. R loves Florida. The truth is who can not be happy in the warm sunshine in the middle of the winter. So no plans to stop the migration. I am happy now with a 7month 5 month split. Hi to Jude and Dill, Mul and Cowboy. I was having a lot of trouble on this site this morning. It asks me to type in my password after every “like”. I signed out and started all over and so far seems to be working. 24 more please and thank you.
