Rava, you deserved a nap! We are leaving the 28th so we have a little more "eating" time. We need to get in several visits between now and then too.

Hi to all! I'll take another

Jude, our closest grocery store (Kroger) is 12 miles. They offer delivery but I never looked to see what the limit is to how far they'll go. However, they also offer a great service where you can order your groceries online and drive to the store and they will load them into your car. It's free for orders over $35, which as you all know is a very low bar these days. Mr. D and I have taken advantage of that many times.

Ginger, I think the solar watches have batteries that are solar charged but hold a certain number of hours of charge once they are topped up. But I don't know all the ins and outs. I looked around a little bit online yesterday but didn't really have time to explore in detail. That coworker yesterday also told me they make watches with batteries that can be charged by shaking of the wrist! I happen to have a flashlight that charges that way, but I never heard of the same in watches!

Glad you had a great time with the grands-on-bikes yesterday, Rava! Those closet lights sound perfect! I have a closet light that is an old, fluorescent that runs on a battery. I could use an upgrade!

    Hi ho, Cowboy!

    24 more, please.

I've never heard of a solar powered watch either dill, I'll have to look into that. There's lots of people wearing Apple watches or other brands of smart watches but I don't think I'd get enough benefits from one to justify the cost of them.

Our local Coop grocery store offers delivery as does our local drug store Jude, but we've never taken advantage of those services. I don't think they deliver out to the rural customers though. I don't mind doing a bit of shopping because I always seem to run into someone I haven't seen in a while.

A puff pastry pizza? That sounds interesting Rava. Something else for me to look into.

You just about ready to head south Ginger? Not many days left till you leave if I remember correctly.

It's supposed to be a fairly nice day today so I think I'll get out and get the rest of the yardwork done so that everything is ready for winter.

Good morning Cafe! Jude, we leave for florida next Wednesday. We are slowly eating our food and not really buying any more groceries. Hope you are feeling better! We had a great day with the grands yesterday. We made pizza and rode bikes and they left by 3 pm and we took a nap. LOL. Today is soccer games. I purchased something from Amazon this week and so happy. They are LED magnetic lights. I stuck them in all my closets. So bright and they are motion sensored. No batteries required. I love the cool white for the closets. We even got some for our outdoor shed which has no electricity. Good purchase that I had to share! It’s 45 degrees here which is cold for me. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Ginger, I've never ordered groceries online, but I doubt that they would deliver to where I live. We are about 20 miles from the nearest grocery store. I don't think that they'd make much profit on a 40 mile round trip.

Dill, solar powered watches? I've never heard of that, but it's not surprising. I wonder what would happen if someone lived in an area that doesn't get a lot of sunshine?

Rava, hope that you had fun with the grands yesterday! When are you leaving for Florida?

    Hey Cowboy!

24 more for all of us please...

Morning all! Jude, I'm glad you're feeling better each day. Do you ever buy groceries online and have them delivered. I don't but I sure can see the value in that service for busy people or housebound folks. My granddaughter and her mom haven't grocery shopped in-store since covid. They are hooked. Lol

Rava, have fun today! Hey ABC. Hey Dill! Let's all have another day of freedom

Good morning Cafe. Dill, I have never heard of solar powered watches? I will definitely be looking into it. Cowboy, glad you saved your strength and decided not to rake in the wind! Jude, glad you are feeling better. Once you get your cupboards restocked you will be feeling even better! Today our g kids are off school and coming over to ride their bikes here at the tiny home campground. Most of the residents are gone so the streets are pretty empty and it’s a good time for amateur bikers to ride around. Looking forward to spending time with them and making a pizza with my puff pastry. Hi to Ginger and Mul. Wishing everyone a safe and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Jude, I appreciate your reminder about focusing on gratitude. Sometimes I completely forget to do that. You're so right about how it resets you mind and outlook.

Cowboy, I remember when I first learned about the vacuum packing and I am forever grateful to the lady that I was working with back then for telling me about it. It was a total game changer for us. We buy meat especially when it is on a good sale and freeze it like you do, in meal size packages. It keeps so great and comes out with no freezer burn. It is a lot of work but it's work that pays off!

Ginger hope you got home safe and sound. So happy for you that you have the opportunity to get together with your sisters.

Rava, during our hey day we got together every Thanksgiving but it was usually about 13-14 of us. Sadly, many are gone now but we do have the sweet memories from those times.

Have any of you ever heard of solar powered wrist watches? I was admiring a coworker's watch yesterday and he told me it was solar powered. I'm going to be looking into that!

    24 more.

Good to hear you're feeling up to doing some grocery shopping Jude, just don't overdo it. And a good morning to you as well.

Good morning all! Thanks for your kind words and each day I feel a little better. Our cupboards are kind of bare right now so it looks like grocery shopping might be in order today. Not something I enjoy doing but it has to be done.

Gratitude is one of the tools that I use to help me stay sober. Whenever I'm having a pity party in my head, thinking about everything that I'm grateful for really seems to help.

Hope that everyone has a great and booze free day!

    24 more please...

It was fun reading your posts. It's a late check in for me again because of the volunteer job and then a few errands while I was in town. Once again, I'm feeling a bit tired. I haven't had much luck lately in the sleep department.

Glad you're starting to feel better, Jude.

24 more for all of us please.

ABC, yes, sisters usually come for a couple weeks each winter. It's a nice break for them to get out of the cold!

Jude, I'm glad you're feeling better. Hopefully, you'll be back to 100% soon.

Rava, I hear you about the major holidays without family. Whatever adventure you choose that day, I'm sure it will be lovely.

    Hi Dill! Hi Mul!

    I'll take another day!

Hope you had a safe trip home Ginger, I imagine your sisters visit you in Arizona?

Our vacuum sealer gets a lot of use as well Jude and dill, we try and buy bulk whenever the price is good, then portion out and freeze. The vacuum sealing keeps it much fresher in the freezer. It's nice Mr J's niece spends the time with you guys Jude.

I didn't do the leaves yesterday Rava, it was too windy. Today is supposed to be the same so I'll wait till I get a calm day to do it. I'm sure there'll be lots more days for visits from the family, Thanksgiving is just one of them that you'll get to spend with Mr R doing something together.

Not much on my agenda today, so I might take a drive out to the farm just to check on things.
