Good morning Cafe. Ginger, thanks for clearing that up for me regarding your travel north or south. I am sure a 22 hour trip is grueling. I am exhausted just thinking about it. How long do you stay in Arizona? Dill glad your walk was for the most part successful and your gr daughter got to help. Great for her to learn about helping different causes. Jude, hope you get some sleep tonight. Nothing like not sleeping to ruin your entire day. Cowboy hope you dont work too hard today!! Wishing everyone a safe and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Another short night in the sleep department and it looks to be a long day.

The weather was wet and windy and basically miserable for our walk yesterday, but we were set up under the roof of a shelter house so stayed dry for the most part. At the scheduled time for the actual walk, the clouds parted and we had some sun! Isn't that wonderful?! The event raised about $25,000 and all proceeds go directly to cancer patients in need. The turnout of walkers was low this year due to the weather, but that didn't affect the bottom line. Registrations were paid even if the participant decided to stay at home. There were several corporate and community sponsors. I'm really proud to be able to contribute my time as a volunteer from the hospital. Our Auxiliary makes a monetary contribution as well. My granddaughter loves participating and feeling like she is helping cancer patients. She did a wonderful job yesterday.

Cowboy, don't overdo it! We just had our furnace serviced last week and are confident that it is ship-shape for winter. The service man had an unpleasant surprise when during the course of his work he came across an active wasp nest! He said he comes across all kinds of situations like that in his work though. He took it in stride.

Ginger, I hope your outreach to QW bears results. I'd love to hear from him too! I wonder what happened to Techie?

Rava those motion sensing closet lights are a grand idea! Mr. D loves tinkering with electronics and he actually made a light that comes on when we open the door to step out into the garage. It is a motion sensing light that is an led. It works like a charm and now we don't have to worry about tripping over the dog in the dark (who naturally loves to lie in front of the step up to the door. I think I'll suggest a couple other places we need lighting and see if he wants to take on another project.

Jude, glad you are almost 100%. Don't push yourself too soon.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Rava, that whole mail forwarding is a bit of a dance! One I've failed at a time or three! Our cupboards are almost bare so I guess we'll be heading south soon. We live in Central Washington so we head due south to Arizona. It's about a 22 hr drive from here. Thank goodness for audio books!

I think the Christmas lights are a little over the top but I'm not around family that time of year. Maybe she likes to go all out for her grandson?

Jude, it's so good to hear you're that much better. I hope it's the first and last crud you get this season! May we all stay well.

ABC, don't work too hard! You are retired. Lol

Dill, how did your walk go? Did you stay dry?

I sent QW another email. I miss his wit and would love to know how Mrs QW is doing. Hopefully, he'll check in. I shamelessly asked him to.

Off to try exercise with this bum knee. I'll take another day of freedom!

Good morning Cafe. Cowboy the LED lights are not solar. These go in closets or our outdoor shed. They are rechargeable and set to motion so they say a single charge lasts a long time. It’s nice to open a closet in the evening without having to turn all the lights in the bedroom on. We went outside last night and opened our shed (which has no electricity) and wow it lit right up with two LED cool lights. We are happy consumers! Dill I hope you didnt get too wet at your walk yesterday. Also the puff pastry will add calories. Best to just stay away. LOL. I bought the last of the puff pastry and used them with all the grands. No more for now. This is our last full week here and trying to eat our supply of everything. Ginger, I get confused on your travel, do you travel north or south for the winter? Three full days is hellish. I feel for you. Our drive is 18 hours and thats why we fly. We have airline credit cards and put all of our bills on it and pay it off each month. So we fly basically free using our points. Jude, glad you are at least 90 percent better. Each day that goes by helps you get stronger. Have you decided about the volunteer job? Hope everyone has a good Monday. I was waiting for a package from USPS and realized it has not come yet and the mail starts going back to Florida today. UGH. So now I guess I have to wait. 24 more hours of sobriety please and thank you.

I don't put many lights up Jude, mostly because the neighbors in our area don't go all out with Christmas decorations. Glad to hear you're starting to feel almost normal again.

I'm not sure I'd pay to have my lights put up even if it was a two storey house Ginger, think I'd probably go with just some lawn ornaments. I usually put ours up around mid-November before the really cold weather settles in. But we don't start turning them on untill mid-December.

Are those LED lights solar powered Rava? They sound like a quick way to light up dark areas.

How did the fund raiser go dill? Hopefully lots of people got out to participate.

I've got a couple of furnaces to service this week for existing customers and a summer house to winterize for another customer so that will keep me busy for a few days this week. And it's Municipal Election Day in Alberta today so Bubba and I will go vote for the 6 Councilor positions open. There are 9 candidates running so it should be an interesting election. Our existing Mayor got in by acclamation as nobody else tossed their hat in the ring for that position.

Dill, hope that you stayed warm and dry on your volunteer walk yesterday. Cancer research is really important now with so many people affected by and suffering from the big C.

Ginger, thanks for asking and I'm about 90 percent recovered fro the creeping crud. Mostly I'm just really tired but improving every day.

Rava, enjoy your golf cart enclosure. It will surely allow you to get out even if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Cowboy, glad that you got all of your chores done. We don't put up Christmas lights anymore, it just seems like too much work.

24 more for all of us please...

Ginger, I can't imagine having enough money to pay someone to put up Christmas lights! Must be nice.

Thanks, Cowboy, for another great Sunday special! Yummy bacon!

Jude, I'm joining you for sure. Thanks for the invite.

Rava, I can't get the idea of puff pastry pizza out of my head. I will sit by the fire later today and google recipes. I can't decide if you are a good influence or a bad influence!! Since my pants are getting a little tight around the waistline lately, I'm thinking perhaps for now, you're a bad influence!

I volunteered for a Cancer Fundraiser that is a walk, taking place later this afternoon. Unfortunately, Mother Nature is going to make it a little uncomfortable with rain possible and temperatures dropping throughout the afternoon. Oh well! We'll dress for the weather and all will be well.

24 more for all of us please and thank you.

Rava, you sure are making the most out of the last few days! Good on you! It takes us three full days to get there, two nights in hotels. Not looking forward to that.

ABC, yummy breakfast! Great job getting everything ready for winter. When do the lights go up? Our neighbor had hers put up yesterday. Her house is two story so the company used a boom truck to install them. It took me awhile to figure out what they were doing! Some people just have too much money. Lol

Jude, are you back to 100%? Sure hope so!

Hi Dill and Mul. Check in Slo.

I'll join you all in another day of freedom!!

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the breakfast cowboy. Loving those crisp hashbrowns!! Ginger, we will be traveling around the same time. How many days does it take you to drive? We leave the 29th and pending no airport delays should arrive by late evening. We also have to get more g kid visits in. Today we have 3 littles visiting and they want to catch minnows. So another puff pastry pizza and minnow catching today while their parents go out to lunch. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. 24 more please and thank you! I just got an enclosure for my golf cart from Amazon allowing us to drive it in the colder temps. Comes tomorrow!

Count me in on a day of freedom Jude!

It was a beautiful fall day yesterday and managed to get all the fall yard work done. Only thing left to do before the snow flies is to put up the Christmas lights, but it's a bit too early for that lol.
