Good morning cafe. I am enjoying all the northern lights pics that people are posting. Beautiful. Supposed to be visible tonight also. As far as the tumeric goes, the website I used was biorootlabs.com . They seem reputable and to me it’s worth a try vs taking lots of ibuprofen which is something you need daily. This stuff seems better and I cleared it with my doctor first. I will give it a try for 30 days and see what happens. So far, so good. Got my cortisone shot yesterday in two spots. He said I have a trigger finger too. UGH. It’s always something. Cooler temps here too like everyone else. I hope everyone has a safe and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Glad you found something that helps with your discomfort Rava, even better that it's a natural product.
It has warmed up a bit here Jude and dill, most of the snow we had has all melted.
Waves to Ginger and Mulburry!
I rarely take anything other than my thyroid and cholesterol medications. I usually don't have any aches and pains unless I overdo it, and then I just suffer through it as I know it won't last long. But then again, I have a very high pain tolerance or so I've been told lol.

Still cold here, too but looking forward to a high of 51F with sunshine! It's going to feel so good!
Yesterday was great fun. I really enjoyed seeing my former colleagues/friends getting caught up as well as reminiscing.
Today will be a day of house chores and quiet. I will enjoy that too!
24 more for all of us, please and thank you.

I didn't realize that turmeric was good for arthritis. I try to use NSAIDS sparingly as my liver has been damaged from all the years of drinking. I'm kind of wary about taking natural supplements because most aren't regulated by the FDA and you don't always know what else is being put into them. It might not be a bad idea to do some research on it to check for possible side effects or warnings.
Still cold and snowing lightly. I have no plans to go anywhere for a change, so maybe I'll have a relaxing day with my knitting.
24 more for all of us please...

I've also tried using cricumen (tumeric) in replace of IB Profen but I just haven't found it as effective. That being said I only take NSAIDS occaissionally (as little as I need to) so it might not be the same cause apparently curcumen takes some time of regular use to be effective. NSAIDS are very bad for you if taken regularly (affect blood pressure, kidney's, cardivascular risk and can lead to uclers), so having another option for those who do certainly seems like it could be very useful.Rava, I've tried turmeric without success. Maybe I'll get some of the stuff you're using and give it a try. I'd love to take less NSAIDs.Last edited by Mulburry; November 11, 2025, 09:45 PM.

Mul, so glad your plumbing issues are resolved and the bill isn't your responsibility!
Jude, your dedication to the kitties is wonderful.

Dill, enjoy your lunch!
My grandmother depended on the almanac. She had a huge garden that literally fed them year round.
ABC, maybe the Rangers will be hybrid by the time you're ready for a new truck!
Not much going on around here. Cooling off some, which makes me happy! I'll take another day

Sure glad your plumbing issue has been resolved, Mul! Now for the reconstruction....
Jude, I'm super glad you had a good day at the volunteer job. It's such an important service! I'm glad there were more hands to share the work load.
Rava, I am very interested to hear how you go with the cumin. I have lots of back and joint issues and take ibuprofen, but I do worry about taking it so often. Thanks for the info. I will read up on it.
Hi Cowboy and Ginger!
I'm having lunch with two former colleaues today and really looking forward to it. I'm glad the skies will be clear for travel.
Not today.

Ditto what Jude said Mulburry. Hopefully it won't take long to get your repairs done.
Sounds like you're enjoying your volunteer position a bit more now Jude, hopefully the extra help will stick around.
Waves to the rest of the gang....not today...

Good morning Cafe. Jude, Im so glad that your volunteer job is working out well now that they got more help. Mul, so glad you got that leak fixed. What a mess. I have been seeing lots of news on the media about turmeric for arthritis. I read all the information and ordered 2 bottles. It’s been three days which is not long and today I noticed that I could turn in bed and actually sit up without that aching back pain. I am thinking this stuff is working. The ads are very specific about a certain kind with black pepper and curcumin. They say it’s more effective than ibuprofen and much safer. I am a cautious believer in this new stuff. I will let you know in another week if the pain is still reduced. I just wanted to share in case anyone wants to look into this. The company is BioRoot Labs. Today is volunteer day and cortisone shot in the hand. Fun days ahead but at least the back pain is manageable! Wishing everyone a great and sober day. 24 more please.

Dill, I did see that the Farmers almanac will be ending publication soon. Very sad... Sounds like you're having the same kind of weather that we are right now, cold and snowy. I have to bring 2 of my cats to the vets for their annual vaccines. today, but I'd rather stay inside next to the fire.
Rava, I agree with you about Dr.'s appointments. It seems like that's all I do lately. Uggh!
Mul, glad that you finally got the leak fixed and that your landlord is footing the bill. I'm also glad that you didn't drink during all that stress. Definitely not worth it!
We actually had enough help yesterday at my volunteer job and it sure did make things a lot easier. I actually enjoyed myself and had fun chatting with the other volunteers. It's still heartbreaking to see all of the cats that need homes but at least I'm doing what I can to help them.
Waves to cowboy and Ginger!
24 more please...

They did manage to still fix the problem that night, there was a second leak higher up which may have been made worse by the commotion of fixing the first leak (go figure eh). Very lucky that the upstairs neighbours were home and allowed them to do some work up there that was needed. was very very glad to have the problem resolved before the weekend. Now onto the restoration part (some of the ceiling will definitely have to be replaced as well as parts of the wall), but at least my apartment down here is a rental so I don't have to pay for any of it.Originally posted by abcowboy View PostHopefully they can find the source of the leak and get it repaired soon Mulburry, you don't need to add replacing your bathroom ceiling to the problem. And glad you kept your head about you instead of in a bottle.
I'm seeing reports of people getting snow all over the east. I'll gladly take the balmy 15C weahter we've had the last couple of days. I'm not ready for winter yet!Cowboy, we're expecting 3-6 inches of lake effect snow tonight and tomorrow. According to the Farmer's almanac our winter is going to be cold and snowy. We shall see...

I see your post got cut off after you typed a number Ginger, hopefully you're not going to have the same issues as Jude was having.
That's not too bad of an amount of snow Jude especially with the amount of lake effect snow you can get. But it's still snow that has to be dealt with.
I also saw that the Farmer's Almanac would be ending next year dill. I did enjoy reading through them and not just for the weather forecasts. Sounds like you'll be the one shoveling along with Jude, my shovel will be getting a break for the next little while lol.
It does get easier as time goes by Rava, just try and deal with those AV moments as they hit you. Good luck with all the Dr appointments this week!
