Wow Rava, that's a switch! I actually slept in today until six and you were up for a few hours already. Hope that you can get a nap in sometime today.
Ginger, congrats to your grandson on taking his first moose, What a beauty!
Dill, when Mr. J's daughter was in high school she played the viola in the orchestra. We went to many of the concerts, but I especially enjoyed the ones at Christmas.
Mr. J and I haven't been on vacation together in years because of the animals. I won't put them in a kennel as it would really stress them out and the cost of boarding has gone way up.
Waves to cowboy and Mul!

Wow, that's a nice bull elk Ginger! From the looks of the sidehill and terrain they had their work cut out for them getting it out. Nothing better than grilled elk steaks!
Yep, I'm guessing you'll be napping today for sure Rava by the looks of the time you were up. I don't like waking up early and just laying in bed letting my mind overthink things either, so I'd probably gotten up as well.
I'll bet you were the proud grandma watching your granddaughter sing in the choir dill.
I'm probably cross posting with Jude right now lol.
I texted Adam to see if he would send me some pics of the drywalling and then I'll post them as soon as I get them.

Hi Cafe. Well I have been up since 230 am. Unable to sleep and instead of laying there overthinking stuff I am up drinking coffee and reading my kindle. Thought I would be the first to check in. Dill, sounds like a wonderful fall music program. I am glad you enjoyed watching your g daughter in it. I get it totally about not wanting to kennel your pets. We did it occasionally and hated it. When I used to pick up my dog after vacation he literally would not look at me. He stared out the side window the entire time home. I know he was mad at me. Ginger, congrats to your g son. That is a huge elk. He must be so proud. Well I just wanted to check in. Good morning to everyone! I will probably be napping today! Wishing everyone a sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Dill, I'm with you! I couldn't go without my pets, so planes as an option, have only come back after losing Ginger. She was too big to be in the cabin and there was no way we'd have stowed her below! Cyrus would do fine under my seat on a plane but if hubby has any say, that may not happen. Lol
Rava, there's a lot of golf cart riding in the evening in AZ. Lots of people with pets, bring them along. It's kinda cute. I'm glad you didn't have that bottle!
ABC, you guys got that cabin pretty close to done! Look forward to pics, if you get them.
My 16yo gson got his elk yesterday. He got to play hooky with his dad and uncle. This put a smile on this boys face! Makes me sad for this majestic animal but he will go in the freezer and be used completely, so I'll put that in a bubble! His uncle is a taxidermist and will mount the head.
Jude, we started traveling early so I think that's why we are considering the sell and just staying home in the winter with a couple of month long trips to get out of the cold. Who knows tho....
Off to try and exercise with this bum knee. Monday was brutal! Ill take another day!

Last evening we had the pleasure of going to the Fall Music Program at the High School. Granddaughter is in the choir. Those students are so talented it was a joy to watch. They featured the choir, orchestra and marching band, so it was a bit of a variety show. Really great. I feel like all the years of sitting through the primary and middle school programs has finally paid off now that the kids are in high school!
I too would like to see the latest cabin pictures, Cowboy. And I was wondering, have you ever been to the eastern coast of Canada? We took a lovely trip some years ago now....maybe 20 years ago now. We went to Nova Scotia and toured the entire peninsula and many light houses. We loved that trip!
Rava, you are much better off today without that wine yesterday. Well done!
Jude, one of the biggest things that hold us back from travel is our pets. I hate the thought of putting them in a kennel. It's silly I suppose, but that's just the way it is. The second thing that holds us back is that we really like to be at home. Be it ever so humble....
Hi Ginger!

I'll bet you're happy that you didn't have that wine last night Rava, and your thoughts are all the more reason to keep wine out of the house. There's lots of folk out around Adam and Darcie's cabin that tour around on golf carts, I think it's a great idea and quiet also.
Bubba and I don't travel much either Jude, maybe once her mom passes away that will change. We've always wanted to tour the east coast so that may well be in our future at some point.
I have to book an appointment for a Dr's appointment for my thyroid meds and yearly driver's license medical, thanks for the reminder dill. Yes, keep on top of any dental work needed, I'm a good example of what happens when teeth are ignored lol.
I don't think you'd stay north for the whole winter Ginger, but selling your Arizona property would give you the opportunity to travel to different parts of the country during the winter months. Mr G might have to take a few more airplane rides for that to happen though.
I didn't spend a lot of time out at the cabin once the insulating had to be finished. Adam and Darcie did that on their own. Then there was a lengthy wait till the drywallers were able to get there. As of now it's all drywalled, mudding and taping done waiting for paint next spring. Then I'll be busy out there once again finishing up the plumbing and ventilation systems. I'll see if Adam took any pics before they closed everything up for the winter.

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, are you still considering selling your AZ home? If you did that would you stay north all winter? Jude, we leave next Wednesday and flying. Hopefully no delays as it’s a connecting flight. With the government shut down we are hoping that does not affect us. That last travel home with a 12 hour delay was just awful. Jude, I hope you slept better last night and are getting better, stronger. Dill I had to laughs at the bloodwork and running for coffee. I usually take a mug and leave it in my car for right after the bloodwork. Cowboy, I need a cabin update also. Is it finished. How about a picture if it is finished. It’s getting colder here compared to florida, so I am getting ready. Cleaned the refrigerator and threw out expired stuff and rearranged some closets. One thing about having two places is I seem to organize more. I have to get rid of most foods like sugar, flour, etc because last year we had those bugs that got into all our dried foods.. We were driving around last evening in our golf cart and I was just wanting a glass of wine so much. Glad I dont have any because if I did, I would have cracked the bottle. 24 more please and thank you.

I'm not sure what I dislike more, long drives or flying. Thankfully, Mr. J and I don't do either very often. At this point we like to stay in one place but in the future we may want to have another house in a warmer climate during the winters. Who knows?
Dill, sorry about the cavities but it's always best to take care of your teeth before things get out of hand.
Cowboy, I had forgotten about the cabin until Ginger mentioned it. Did you and your son ever get it finished?
Rava, when are you leaving for Florida? I'm sure that you mentioned it but of course I forgot. One of the many perks of getting older. Ha!

Super late check in for me today. I had to do fasting blood work so I got up and went as early as possible so I could get it over with and get my morning coffee! I then had a dentist cleaning and checkup and wouldn't you know that darned Dentist found two cavities. One on a heavily used molar is going to need a crown. YUK. That happens next week.
I don't envy either of you the long treks to your winter homes, Ginger and Rava. But I'm sure it's worth the effort!!
I hope you get some good weather for the stock waterer project, Cowboy.
And Jude, Cowboy is right: Naps are in order for the day!
When I got back home I had to do my house chores and so am just now taking a rest.
24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

ABC, I haven't heard a cabin update lately. Did you and Adam get it done? I may have missed it.
Jude, definitely get a nap, if you can. Is coughing keeping you awake?
Dill, you have a special relationship with gdaughter. It's wonderful. What a great cause to share with her.
Rava, before we started talking about selling, we were going to start flying back and forth. Hubby dislikes flying but was going to take one for the team. He doesnt mind the drive at all.
Hi Mul, I bet you're enjoying this wonderful fall weather!
No word back from QW. I hate this part of anonymity. My head makes up bad stuff. Here's to only good things for QW, Techie and Slo.
I'll take another day of freedom!

I don't envy you that drive Ginger, 14 hours is about all I can handle in a vehicle. Not so bad when you break it up over a couple of days though.
I like the "cool white" led lights as well Rava, they are way brighter than the "soft white" and don't have that yellowish tinge. I've converted most of the light bulbs in our house to the cool white led's.
Sounds like the fund raising went very well dill and so nice of your granddaughter to get involved as well. And yes, I've also run into some hair-raising situations over the years doing service calls and repair work lol.
Best get in a couple of naps today then Jude if you didn't get much sleep last night, being run down and tired doesn't help when recuperating.
I didn't work too hard yesterday, went out and winterized that summer farm house which doesn't involve much physical labor, just a bunch of driving lol. Supposed to rain today according to the forecast so I doubt Corey will want to work outside today on setting up the new stock waterer. Probably will be a job for tomorrow or Thursday.
