ABC, it does get cold here. This morning it's 25F and we can have strings of days in the teens. Occasionally, negative temps but not many of those anymore.

Jude, I hope this isn't starting back up! If you get out of MWO and go back in and go to the message box, do you see an option to select or discard last post? It's in the box where you type and is in yellow. I've used that a few times to restore a lost message. I am on my phone though so it might not show up like that on other devices.

As for diamond art-ing while traveling. I have a tray on my lap and all my diamonds are in tiny individual containers. I just do one color at a time and don't jump around. Works great. I use to crochet but my hands are cranky about that right now. With diamond art, I can switch from my right hand to left to get a break. Keeps my hands busy so I don't get bored when it's my turn to be the passenger. We usually drive two hours then swap drivers now that we no longer pull a house behind us!

Dill, is Pumpkin your only barn cat or does she have company out in the barn?

Rava, safe travels. I'm hoping for perfect flights for you!

Going to workout then home to get everything buttoned up! Cyrus knows something is up and is staying closer than he normally would. I think it had something to do with closing his catio for the season. This boy is not usually a lap cat. Had our last family meal yesterday then little sis came and took all our perishables. She left with a pretty good haul!

    I'll take another day!

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, once your driving trip is over I am hoping you will be happy to be in the warmer temps. We said our goodbyes last night. I try not to make a big deal of it because there is no sense in creating drama. We will see everyone at Christmas. Hope you dont spill your diamonds as you drive and diamond paint. LOL. Dill, I remember the Sinclair method. It would not work for me. I used Rational Recovery which was so insightful. It taught me that not everyone needs AA to quit drinking. If that was the only way that worked I would still be drinking. AA is great for those that have quit drinking but it’s just not for me. It’s nice that there are more and more options regarding sobriety. Sober Tik Tok, Sober October, etc. Seems like it’s more acceptable to simply quit drinking. 20 years ago you were automatically labeled a drunk. It’s more acceptable these days to NOT drink. Good morining to all my cafe friends. 24 more please and thank you.

Hopefully those posting problems haven't come back to haunt you Jude, fingers crossed that everything works okay tomorrow.

I'd probably do the same dill, fix what needs immediate repair and then hold off on the rest. I might order the rest of the material to have on hand though when it comes time to fix the other ones. I'm skeptical about the Sinclair method as well, but if it helps some people then I'm all for it.

No, I don't think they'll retire out to the lake Ginger, but you never know. He hasn't mentioned that it would be their retirement home. Does it get very cold in the winter where you are now or is just the snow you don't like? And maybe being away from all your kids etc is playing on your mind more now?

I'll bet the crab was excellent Rava. Seems like any fresh seafood is way better than store bought.

Very windy and cold here this morning with a bit of rain mixed in, thankfully no snow yet though!

That's frustrating, Jude! Hope that doesn't happen again tomorrow!

I head to the dentist this morning for work on two cavities. One is a filling, the other will be a crown. I'm not looking forward to it, but I am very grateful to be able to have the work done.

There is a podcast I sometimes tune into called "Honestly" with Bari Weiss. Last week she did a program about a controversial method of getting sober, so of course, I tuned in. Funny thing was, it was just the "Sinclair Method" using naltrexone. The method allows you to drink while taking naltrexone which inhibits the desire for alcohol so you begin to learn how to moderate. I'm sure I read about it on MWO at least 10 years ago and probably much longer than that! Apparently her guest, Karen Herzog, has written a book called Drink Your Way Sober, had success with it and wanted to talk about it. I'm happy for her that she found success with the method, but....color me skeptical.

24 for all of us here today, please and thank you

I'm with Ginger, Jude! I would have been heading for the nearest toilet I'm afraid! If I'd have had that venison burger as my first experience with game meat I may never have tried it again! Wow, you really slept in. Nice to do on a cold Sunday morning. I usually get up at 5:00 and put Lily out. Then sometimes I go back to bed or I just stay up and have coffee and log on here.

Ginger, you really don't sound enthusiastic about heading south this year but hopefully that feeling will pass as soon as you get on the road. I'm still trying to imagine how you can work on a diamond art project while traveling. I started wondering when you mentioned it a couple of days ago.

Rava, how nice of your neighbors to share their bounty! It was your lucky day!

Cowboy, we did get the door frame finished and hung in the track. Now all we need is the metal to side it with. It'll be here in 2 weeks, hopefully. Mr. D is wondering if we should just do the one for now and do the rest after winter ends. They are all in good enough shape to get us through another winter. It would be really bad if we took them down and started work and then the metal siding gets delayed. We'd have no protection at all from the elements and poor Pumpkin (barn cat) would be really exposed to the windy and wet winter weather. Thanks for another awesome breakfast!

24 more clear-headed hours, please and thank you.

ABC, thanks for breakfast! Do Adam and Darcy plan to live there full-time when they retire someday?

Dinner was great! Got to see almost all my "babies". Only one granddaughter was working and had to miss. Prime rib, no elk.

I literally would have thrown up if that happened to me, Jude!

    Hi Rava, Dill and Mul.

One more goodbye meal and then we've said goodbye to everyone. Seems like we just got home and we are leaving again. I see snow in the foothills so I know it's time but my heart's not in it. In any case, I'll take another day.

There's nothing worse than finding a bunch of hair in your meat Jude. Adam and I are very particular about that when we field dress any game.

Prime rib or elk steaks both sound delicious to me Ginger. We do our moose roasts in the crockpot, but steaks are usually always done on the wood pellet grill.

We have 3 Chinese food restaurants here in Veg Rava, all of them are mom and pop style. We usually end up always going to just one, but the odd time we'll try one of the others.

Sounds like the door project is coming along nicely dill, hopefully you'll get them all finished before the winter weather sets in.

The pics Adam sent me are of the kitchen area. You can see the plumbing rough-in for the corner kitchen sink. The two walls will have cabinets upper and lower along with a smaller stove and fridge.

    Good morning all!

Well, I slept in until 6:00am today, and I'm waiting in line for breakfast.

Thanks for the pics of the cabin cowboy. I bet that your son can't wait to begin using it!

Dill, sounds like you and Mr. D are making good progress on the barn door. Building material costs have gone through the roof but at least you saved a lot of money by doing the work yourself.

Ginger, that crockpot meal sounds yummy. The first time that I tried venison was when someone made hamburgers with it. As I was taking a bite I realized that the meat was full of hair and other things that I couldn't identify. It was many years later that I had venison and thankfully it was prepared properly and it was delicious.

    Waves to Gaga and Mul!

    24 more please...

Good morning Cafe. Dill, I hope the door frame project goes smoothly and your parts get ordered. Cowboy, thanks for the nice pictures of the drywall in the cabin. Looks like it is really coming along nicely. Ginger, hope you enjoy your family dinner tonight. The reason I suggested Chinese food tonight is the fact that we have NO good Chinese restaurants nearby in Florida. They have super high pricey ones, but I like a good cheap (well nothings cheap anymore) mom and pop carry out. We have a great one down the street from here that offers 2 egg rolls, soup and a can of soda with each meal. Great deal. Got to see my neighbors last night for a crab feast. Our neighbor caught 2 bushels and invited us to eat. Ginger safe travels this week. Hi to Jude. Wishing everyone a safe and sober day.

Jude, I enjoy both knit and crochet and have a lot of yarn that I should use up. A "stashghan" sounds like a great plan! Making an afghan is a great winter project. I don't know if I have the patience for it right now, but I have made afghans in the past and they are great to have around!

Cowboy, thanks for the pics. The cabin looks like it is coming together nicely! We got one door frame put nearly put together and will finish that up today. Then we'll have our son come over to help hang it on the track. That will take 3 of us. The doors will be metal which Mr. D has on order but it's not going to arrive for two more weeks. Until then the door frame will just be hanging, waiting for the metal to be put on. Only one of the 4 door panels was absolutely necessary to get done as the others are still holding up. But we are going to do all four. Since Mr. D didn't know how things would go, and because materials are so expensive, he only bought enough to do the one door. It's going pretty well though and we will probably be ordering more materials soon.

Rava, I love Chinese food. I am still upset about the time that our favorite Chinese restaurant in town was torn down to put up a Walgreens, of all things!! We really haven't had any good Chinese food around here since then and that was about 20=25 years ago!

Ginger, that crockpot meal had my mouth watering!

I best go get best with the door project. 24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.
