We had zero trick-or-treaters, as expected. It's not a big holiday in this little town. It used to be a big holiday in the little town we lived in before. But not so much here.

I quit buying bottles went boxed wine became a thing, because it was easier to hide the evidence, not just from others, but from myself as well.

Have a great time today with Adam Cowboy!

Jude, I haven't seen Pumpkin in a few days so no opportunity to try training the dog. Pumpkin is fine though. We check the game camera we have set up in the barn and he is appearing on it every night and is going to his feed bowl. I'm hoping he will be present during the day once we get into the harsher weather.

Ginger, hope you're home safe and sound!

Rava, I have trouble getting through Walmart too.

Mul, have you got that leak repaired? Plumbing issues are annoying....and expensive!

Nothing going on here today, but it's going to be a pretty Fall day.

    24 more more, please.

We had 36 kids come to the door Jude which is the most we've ever had in the 5 years I've been in Veg. And it surprised me that we has so many considering the weather, it was pretty cool but very, very windy which made it seem even colder.

Waves to the rest of the gang!

Up early this morning to get all my hunting gear ready and lunch made as it's the first day of hunting season up hear. Then wait for Adam to get out here from Ardrossan. We won't be out for the full day as we both want to be home to watch the baseball game tonight. No special hunting draws for us this year, so only hunting for white tail deer.

Ginger, hopefully you made it home without any problems.

We had one trick or treater last night so there's lots of leftover candy. Yay!

Cowboy, I can remember feeling really embarrassed about how many empty bottles were in the recycling bin. One less thing to worry about!

Good idea skipping the booze aisle Rava. No need to tempt fate...

    Hey dill and Mul!

    Not today...

Got on the road early! Mul, great job. I hope those bottles went straight to the dumpster after you found them.

Waves all! I'll take another day of freedom

Good job on avoiding the lure of those bottles Mulburry, hopefully all the leak issues will be resolved soon.

And good for you as well Rava for staying away from the wine displays, no need to make shopping difficult. I'd love to see Mr R's train set-up if you can take some pics please.

Not sure how many kids we'll get at the door tonight Jude and dill, it's pretty chilly here this morning with a heavy frost covering everything but it's supposed to be a decent day once it starts warming up.

It'll be nice to get there to a clean and refreshed trailer Ginger, and I imagine grocery shopping will be one of the first things on your agenda.

I'm going to be taking in the recyclables today as the bin is full. It's nice not to be ashamed of the amount of beer cans and other booze bottles that are in the bags because there isn't a single one! And what used to be a once-a-month trip is now just one or two times a year.

    Happy Halloween y'all!

Good morning Cafe. Mul, I am so proud of you. That situation could have easily sent you spiraling. You handled it perfectly! Coming back to Fl has set new cravings for me. I grocery shopped in Walmart yesterday because their wine is hidden in the last aisle of the store. I made a conscious decision to not go near there. In our local grocery store there is wine at every corner. I am not that strong yet. Ginger, I hope you arrive safely to your super clean RV! That will definintely take some stress off having it clean when you get there. We do the same and unfortunately (or may luckily) our lady found a leak when she turned our water on . So yesterday we had a new garbage disposal installed. Ice maker is also broken so I am using bagged ice for now. It’s always something!!! Dill I hope you have a good day and same to you Jude! Cowboy good luck with the railroad project. Mr. R has a train going right around the ceiling in his little den at the condo. Right this minute he is drinking coffee watching the trains go around! LOL. Gonna find a gym today. I need to get back on a routine to keep from slipping! I have all the tools I need, just need the will power to keep my quit in place! 24 more please and thank you.

Mul, hang in there! That took a lot of strength on your part, and you should feel proud!

Enjoy getting settled back in, Rava.

Jude, our weather is supposed to be cool and dry for the trick-or-treaters around here. We never have any come to our door though. We are too far off the road.

Hope you and Mr. G are having smooth sailing, Ginger.

Have fun with your railroad expansion planning, Cowboy!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Hang in there Mul! Sometimes when we're stressed that alcohol voice starts screaming in our heads; don't listen to it! Alcohol is cunning, baffling and powerful. It promises a blissful escape from all of your problems until you sober up and realize that none of your worries have gone away. They're actually worse because now you have a hangover to add to your misery.

Happy halloween all! The trick or treaters around here are going to have to brave some nasty weather tonight with rain, high winds and cold temps.

Safe travels Ginger and I hope that you reach your destination safely today!

Cowboy, looking forward to seeing more pics of the railroad expansion. Such a cool hobby!

Rava, glad that you made it home yesterday. Definitely put on your blinders when grocery shopping!

Dill, I would try the shock collar again on Lily, hopefully she will get the message.

24 more for all of us please...

Sorry about the cat jude, that's tough. Rava I was thinking of you when I saw what Mellisa did to Jamaica, but I guess it's not supposed to hit Florida or the USA at all right?

Anyways, i guess it's been a bit since I've been on here. Have been dealing with a water leak issue at the apartment here all week (have had plumbers, restoration people coming all week), which as stressed me out. On top of it a different (non serious) medical issue that I though was over and done with flared up again... all leaving me feeling a bit anxious and depressed. And we had to clean out a bit of the closet to make sure there was no water damage there, and of course one of the things I had to take out (which was nicely tucked away) was a big cardboard box full of all the booze I had left when I quit drinking. Well I'll tell you that was not a great combination, not feeling great mentally and having all that booze sitting there. Damn it would be nice once in a whlie just to drown it all out with a bottle of whiskey, but I know all too well that any temporary relief will just magnified in reverse 10 fold down the road... so staying strong and holding out!

Rava, glad you made it safe and sound!! We won't reach our destination until tomorrow around 230ish. The 5th wheel is open, hooked up and being cleaned today, including windows! We pay a guy to wash and wax it. I'll get that scheduled ASAP. I usually do all that myself but no more!

Waves to all. I'll take another day of freedom!

Glad your trip was uneventful Rava and that you made it safe and sound! I bet it won't take long to get settled in and start enjoying the sun and warm temps.

Not sure if that is old in cat years Jude, but it's better that she's not suffering anymore. And I'm sure Peanut will soon come around and start wanting your attention.

Have a good day at the hospital dill.

Will you make it to your Arizona place today Ginger?

Got my work done yesterday and enjoyed coffee and fresh baked chocolate cookies with my customer, delicious indeed. Not much on the agenda today, maybe start planning and laying out my railroad expansion for when winter hits.

Good morning Cafe. We made it home to Florida last night around 630 pm. No airline delays or any problems. So we were very lucky. Ginger,I hope you will be home soon as well. Today will be spent getting this place back in order with some food. I decided to order those fake plants from amazon for my flower boxes which face north and are usually full of bugs during the heat. So this year we shall see how this works. Jude, hope you are doing ok today. Dill hope your volunteer day goes well. Cowboy, dont work too hard. Wishing everyone a sober day. Gonna walk thru the grocery store with blinders on when I pass the wine section! The struggle is real. FYI books I am reading is about Elizabeth Vargas who was famous on 20/20 and some other news shows. Very insightful into her downward spiral. Ok 24 more please and thank you
