Good morning Cafe. Dill I hope Lily enjoyed the dog park. Today it looks like we are getting some rain. I am making some Thai soup I found online. Maybe playing some mahjong with my neighbor. Cowboy, the breakfast was delicious. Thank you again for providing that for us each Sunday! I hope everyone in the cold stays warm and those warm folks stay cool. Jude, I love hearing the birds too. Spring is coming….For Florida spring means the rainy season which starts in May. Thats our cue to head north! 24 more please and thank you.

It is feeling like an endless winter Ginger lol, and it's not over yet. We got more snow headed our way for tomorrow and Tuesday but at least the temps won't be as cold.

It's been a long time since I've seen that many deer in a herd Jude, lucky if we see 6 or 7 together now.

Waves to the rest of the gang!

Dill, did you end up taking Lily to the dog park yesterday? If so, hope that you both had a great time! I agree with you about alcohol being a depressant. When that urge for a drink comes I try to think about how I will feel the next day, both physically and mentally. It's a good way to help me resist reaching for the bottle.

It's currently 25 degrees outside and snowing, but later this week it's supposed to be close to 50 degrees. Woo hoo! I can definitely see signs of Spring though. I can hear different song birds in the morning which means that some birds are coming back from the south. Also the deer are starting to yard up in the surrounding fields. It's wonderful driving down the road and seeing 30-40 deer grazing in the fields. Hoping for an early Spring, but we shall see.

Waves to Cowboy, Peachie, Ginger, Rava and Mul!

I'm not a big fan of high winds Mulburry, but at this point I think I might take that over the cold and snow lol.
It feels like we're in totally different world sometimes, even though we're only a province apart, lol. We haven't had snow since Christmas, and are back to nice pleasant sunny 12C days. The snow bells have already come and gone, and now the crocuses are out, spring is upon us!

Ginger999 yikes, heat at this time of year, no thanks. I've never been to south and I don't think I ever will. Enjoy your time with your sister (and travelling) though, I'm sure there'll be plenty nice moderate spring weather wating for you when you get back!

ABC, is it starting to feel like the endless winter yet? Lil sis will travel home with us the end of March. We are taking the longer way home so she can see several national parks in Utah. She's great fun to travel with and hubby seems to enjoy her company too.

Rava, we cross posted yesterday. Sorry about your slip but you know what to do. You got this and we've got you!

Hi, Mul! I'm starting to get the itch to get back to the PNW. Record highs here in AZ! Breaking records and people are falling out from heat on the trails around here.

Hi Jude, Dill and Peachie! I'll join you all in another day of freedom

Sorry to hear about your slip as well Rava, but you're back trying again and that's all that really matters.

Great to hear your little sister has got her first year in Ginger, no doubt you're been a positive role model for her.

Sounds like my kind of restaurant Jude, I love those mom and pop style diners, the food also has a homemade feel to it.

Have fun at the dog park dill, I imagine all 3 of you will enjoy it.

I'm not a big fan of high winds Mulburry, but at this point I think I might take that over the cold and snow lol.

When you say coach it down Peachie, I'm presuming you mean bus, or at least that's what we call it. The coaches or buses they have now are pretty comfortable to ride in and someone else does the driving for you.

My electric shovel and the leaf blower are going to get a workout this morning but thankfully it's stopped snowing for now.

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, I hope you have a great month with your sister. 1 year sober is a great accomplishment! You both will be good support for each other for sure! Dill I totally get F it moments. They seem to be my problem too. Oh well we are back showing up and thats all that matters! Jude your restaurant sounds like a perfect place! We have a little Thai restaurant owned by a young couple that do all the work and we love supporting them. I am meeting a friend in the park today to teach her how to crochet. I am looking forward to seeing her and catching up. Dill, I hope Lily has fun at the dog park. My little dog was a beast. He could never go to one. OK wishing everyone a great and sober day. 24 more. Hi to Mul, Cowboy, Peachie

Jude, that restaurant sounds like my kind of place, too!

Ginger, that is really wonderful that your sister has maintained sobriety for over a year now! You and both of your sisters are an inspiration to me! As for the why of my slip, it just happened and without much thought. Old habits die hard and the place I used to buy wine is on my drive home from the volunteer job. It was like a magnet to me that day. I'm going to go back to using a different route home for awhile. I guess bottom line is, it was an "f" it moment.

Peachie, it might be good for you to visit with Emma, and good for her, too. But perhaps the travel is too much. If that's the case, there's always the phone or facetime.

Rava, after my slip I felt fine physically. It's the mental/emotional effect that is tough on me. Alcohol is a depressant, to be sure.

Cowboy and Mul, waves to you both!

Today will be another visit to the dog park for Lily.

    Not today.

Rava and dill, sorry that you drank, but leave those regrets behind. Breathe in and move on.

Peachie, you should definitely try to get the funeral if possible. I'm sure that Emma would love to see you!

Isn't it funny how we don't feel our age when we look in a mirror, but any hard physical exercise tells a different story. Ugh!

Ginger, that's great news about your sister being AF for over a year. How long will she be staying with you?

Last night Mr. J and I went out for a fish dinner. The owners of the diner are farmers and it's where all the locals go to. It has a homey feel with no big screen tv's blasting loudly. My kind of place for sure!

    Waves to cowboy and Mul!

That's awesome that you were able to catch it down under! It was a great game, but tough to take the loss, after Canada played so well (they had soooo many chances) and came so close. I really enjoyed the olympics overall, things seem a lot more boring now that hey're over, lol.

I saw about that snow storm you east coasters had, wow, that was quite something. Here we've had a 2 day long windstorm but somehow have managed to avoid any power outages, but back to nice weather again finally tomorrow!
