Good morning Cafe. Cowboy, hope you have a wonderful day with Brandie before you take her to the airport tomorrow. The Thai soup was very good buy honestly there were too many ingredients and too much work involved. I will not be making it again. I hope everyone has a good Monday. Can’t believe it’s March already. Shew the months really do go fast!!! 24 more please and thank you. PS Dill take the long route home!

Did your little sis arrive yet Ginger? Wasn't sure exactly what day she was supposed to get there.

Bubba is always trying recipes she finds online Rava, how did the Thai soup turn out?

We don't eat any lamb Peachie, don't think I've seen it in any of the local stores either. Not many sheep are raised up around here so that could be the reason.

I haven't seen that movie dill, I'm going to have to look it up. QW is from Calgary which is about a 4 hour drive from Vegreville. They seem to film a lot of movies around that area.

I've not heard of a Shilo breed either Jude, going to have to look that up as well. Have fun at your volunteer job today.

Adam and Darcie dropped Brandie off with us yesterday so had a good visit with them before they headed back to Ardrossan. Brandie will be staying with us till I take her back to the airport tomorrow morning for her to fly home. Not much else happening around here other than that.

Peachie, a chill in the air must feel good to you at this point. Autumn is my favorite season!

Jude, that Shilo breed was developed in New Jersey by a woman who wanted to make a more even keeled family dog from the German Shephard. He was absolutely beautiful. Like you, I tend to get my dogs from rescue situations. But I have bought pure breeds a couple of times. The dogs I bought that were pure bred were Border Collies. They were wonderful pets, but really so were all the shelter dogs.

Auxiliary Board meeting today and I have to be very careful not to make that stop afterward. If I'm feeling weak which often happens after a slip, I'll definitely take a different route home.

    Waves to all!

    Not today...

Hiya everyone. I know what you mean Jude. They are always shutting down puppy mills here too. So cruel. I get angry too.

Dill, yep we do have dog parks here too. Lots of regulars and lots of chatting. All of the dogs made friends. So cute. Everyday at 4pm we all headed down. Luckily our park was just full of little white fluffies who got on.

Ginger, hope you're enjoying your sisters company. Lucky you.

I'm sensing a touch of Autumn here. Have had some cooler nights. Hope your spring comes sooner rather then later.

Dinner time here. Tuna patties and salad. Hope you all have a lovely day. AB, yes there is a bus down to Busselton but have decided to watch the Funeral on line. The last thing Emma's Mum needs is a house guest so will not intrude on her grief.

Off to turn the TV on and have my dinner.

    Night night
    Xxx

    Good morning cafe!

Dill, I've never heard of a breed of dog called Shilo. It seems as though there a lot of new breeds popping up everywhere. I wish that more people would adopt a dog through the many rescues out there instead of buying one. When I worked as a vet tech we saw all of the results of poor breeding coming through the clinic. There are some ethical dog breeders out there but many are just out to make money and the result is often puppies that have a lot of health problems down the road. (Think puppy mills) I get angry just thinking about it!

Well, I've bitched enough this morning so I'd best get ready to head off to my volunteer job.

    Waves to all!

    24 more please...

Cowboy, thanks for another great Sunday brunch. You made one of my favorites: spinach omelet! I was tramping around in your territory last night (virtually). Mr. D and I have been on a mission to watch several Rober Duvall movies since he passed recently. Last night we had the DVD of "Broken Trail". It was filmed in Montana and Alberta. I don't know how close we actually were to where you live. The movie was made around Calgary. I guess Robert Duval made quite a splash with the locals while he was there. He loved Alberta.

I love Thai food, Rava! Did you make the Thai soup with leftover chicken? We roasted a 6lb. chicken a couple of days ago and I'm looking for ideas for leftover chicken. I made a really great chicken salad yesterday but I still have 2 more cups of cut up chicken left! Maybe I'll just make a simple chicken and rice.

Jude, I've never seen that many deer at one time! We usually don't see much more than 20 at a time. I bet that was really something to see. Birds are singing a little bit now when the sun is shining. Spring is definitely coming.

Peachie, I didn't have a walk with the dog at the dog park. When you go to this dog park all the dogs are off leash and are encouraged to run and play with whatever dogs are there. The owners meet and chat and trade stories about their dog or the breed or whatever happens to come up. My gdaughter had fun throwing the ball for whatever dogs were interested. The area is all fenced in so the dogs can run and no one has to worry about them getting into the road. It's a great way to get outdoors and have a bit of social time. Do you have places like that where you live? Last week an actual "Show Dog" stopped in. He was beautiful and perfectly groomed bc he had just come from a competition. He was from a breed that's not official yet so he was competing in a non AKC event. I was fascinated to learn about the breed. It's called a "Shilo".

    Hello Ginger and Mul!

Hope we all have another 24 hours.

Evening all. Your supper was just the ticket Cowboy
    Thank you.

My tablet went dead yesterday so after much mucking around I managed to get the forum back on my phone. Spent a lot of the day installing all my old apps.

Dill, hope your walk went well.

Jude I love hearing the birds too. I have had a little willy wag tail hanging around my garden for a few days. The cats just watch it but they have left it be. Phew.

Rava hope your Thai Soup turned out to be yummy.

I made a lamb casserole yesterday. Was lucky getting a cheap cut of lamb and loaded it with heaps of veggies. Oh yummo.

Night night everyone. Have a great day.
