The pain in my knee comes and goes but it's not the same as before the surgery. I've been assured it's perfectly normal and may last up to a year. A lot of muscle and tendons were traumatized and it takes awhile to get back to normal. Thanks for asking.

Empyr3al, new furniture to make your "nest" more cozy sounds like a great idea to me.

Dill, I'm sorry about the slip. That's all it is, a slip. It doesn't define you or your long term sobriety. You've got this!

Jude and Dill, I hope you both avoid the worst of the storm. It's bringing rain to our area. The desert will be happy!

ABC, were you able to get those garage doors installed or are you still waiting for a good weather window?

    Hi Peachie and Mul!

Hoping to get out and explore today. Not today!

New furniture sounds like a good thing empyr3al and can make the house look totally different. And getting it at a steal of a deal make it even better.

You're headed in the right direction dill, just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Hopefully you and Jude won't be too badly affected by the storms headed your way.

Showing gratitude is so important to all of us Peachie, especially when we're having bad days. I'm like you, when I'm having a bad day I try to remind myself that the good days far outweigh the bad ones and I have so much to be grateful for.

Glad you got out on your bike Ginger, it won't be long and you'll be right back to your regular self.

    Waves to Rava...

Our temps started plunging overnight and will continue getting colder for the next few days, looks like it's going to be stay inside weather lol.

Good morning Cafe. Hope those in the path of the upcoming storm stay safe and warm. Dill, don’t beat yourself up. Think of how far you have come and remind yourself that you are a completely different person. I, like you, do not know how you go from having fun, or not having fun to buying wine. It has happened to me too many times. Sometimes for absolutely no reason. The fact that you keep showing up is all that matters. We got your back and we understand. Al, I bet you are loving your new furniture. That is a fun and positive thing! Ginger I am impressed how well you are doing. Just proves you are still a spring chicken! Hi to Jude, Cowboy and Peachie and Mul! Hope everyone has a good and sober day.

Dill, don't beat yourself up over a slip. I agree that you were probably triggered by spending the day with a friend that you used to drink with. Don't dwell on it and move on. We are also in the path of the upcoming storm with a foot or more of snow possible with sub zero windchills. We shall see...
Peachie, it's always good to be grateful for what we have and it's a huge part of staying sober, at least for me.
Ginger, so glad that things seem to be getting back to normal, and that's awesome about being able to ride your bike again!
Al, enjoy your new furniture! I haven't bought any new furniture in quite awhile, and I make do with what I have.
Waves to Cowboy, Rava and Mul!

    24 more please...

Hey Mulburry, I've had that happen to me, too. When it happens I usually just message Jod (Administrator) and he gets it straightened out for me. I wonder if it happened to you because you were quoting me? Jod doesn't mind at all when I contact him. He's very nice. Thanks for the suggestion of The Studio. We'll check it out when we get thru all the Seinfelds.

Ginger, I'm so glad you are officially graduated! But like Jude, I was wondering if that pain you mentioned a couple weeks ago has gone away.

Jude, yes we are in the path of the storm. Not looking forward to it!

Peachie, I enjoyed your reflection on things you are grateful for . It put me in a good frame of mind.

I am really kind of down today because I screwed up yesterday. It was weird really. I spent the day with my friend and we had a good time. But when I left her I went to the store and bought wine! It was like a really old habit pattern was triggered bc she and I used to enjoy drinking together. I truly regret it and am feeling very down on myself today. But I will be back tomorrow and stay on the path. I set myself back, but I'm not going to let it defeat me.

    Waves to everyone.

    Not today....

Peachie, so true! I've made a ton of mistakes due to alcohol abuse. If I go there, it can steal my joy so I try to focus on being grateful for my sobriety and all the things that brings!

ABC and Jude, it's wonderful to have that PT commitment behind me. It's like getting my life back. There's still stiffness and a little pain but nothing like it was. It can take months to completely recover so I'll try to be patient. Not my best trait. Lol

Mul, enjoy that spring like weather while it lasts. I'll look for that show you mentioned. We love a good comedy.

Rava, is your good weather expected to return soon? Hi Dill!

I was able to ride my regular bike yesterday. I didn't go far but it sure felt good! I'll take another day!

Hi everyone. Been a very cranky old lady today. Just tried to go outside for some fresh air and it is still unbearably hot out there! Ugh. I see you are having really bad weather over there in various Counties. Seems we are all in the same boat. I remain so grateful for what I have. A roof over my head, kind people around me and relief for not letting my drinking totally destroy my life. Some personal strength and a happy disposition has never let me down. I see that in all of you here.

I'm not perfect, far from it but despite all the mistakes in my life I still have

the core of me and that is priceless to all of us.
    Night night.
    Xxx

Good morning Cafe. Hi to Mul and it’s weird about your post. Maybe because you quoted someone? I dont know. Just a thought. Ginger, I cant believe 6 weeks has gone by. I am glad you are finished and hope your doctor gives you a clean bill of health! Cowboy don’t work too hard shoveling that snow. The east coast, where the tiny home it, is supposed to get a snow storm this coming weekend. I will be watching on the camera. Still having a cold snap in Florida. Hopefully that will end soon. Hope everyone has a great and sober day! 24 more please and thank you.

I'll bet you're happy that PT is done Ginger even though it's a necessary evil for recovering. I think you'll do just as good with the surgeon's appointment as well.

I don't have any problems with my posts Mulburry, at least as of yet anyway. Flagged as spam sure sounds like a weird one though. We've been enjoying some milder temps as well, not quite as warm as you but better than what's in store for us the next few days.

Waves to the rest of the gang...

I picked up everything I need to help the farm neighbor get his diesel heater installed in the snowmobile trailer, so I'm headed out there this morning to give him a hand, after I shovel the bit of snow we got overnight lol.

Ginger, congrats on graduating from PT! Is your knee still painful at all? Hopefully when you see the doc on Monday he will give you a thumbs up and tell you that you're good to go.

Mul, that's weird about your post getting flagged for spam. I just read my post from yesterday and see that the end of it is missing. Poltergeists???

Dill, are you supposed to get any snow from the major storm that's going to hit so many states? There are many states in the path of the storm that aren't used to seeing much snow. Hopefully, no lives will be lost during this event.

Waves to cowboy, Peachie and Rava!

    24 more please...

Weird, I made a post yesterday, and it got "flagged for spam" and it's still showing as "unapproved".... anyone else have these sorts of problems lately? Anyways, here's the post:

"Originally posted by dill View Post

Big Seinfeld fan as well, there are some episodes I must have seen well over a dozen times by now, lol. We still watch it once in a while when I'm out at my mom's house, but not too often, cause we've over-watched it so much already. Kramer is awesome of course, but George has some great episodes too. I really like Curb Your Enthusaism as well (the co-creator of Seinfeld, Larry David's show). George in the show was loosley based on him.
I watch a ton of stuff, but for comedy I would highly recommend The Studio, it was both hilarious and a scathing satire of the hollywood film industry.

"Headed to the desert today for a short, easy hike."
That's amazing Ginger999... I'm sure you'll be doing the longer harder hikes in no time! We've been having an absolutely amazing stretch of weather the last week, sunny every day and mild (8-10C), feels almost like spring is here already. Have been getting out for some hikes, so nice when the sun is shining!

I graduated from PT!! 3x a wk for 6 weeks is a long time but so necessary with a joint replacement. They were very happy with my end results. I see the surgeon next Monday. I'm hoping he feels the same.

    Peachie, I bet that was a big adventure for a 10yo! I
My cat tells me when it's bed time too. Lol

We also had fried spam when I was a kid. My mom loved the stuff.

    Hey Dill, Rava and Jude.
