Good morning Cafe. Hope those in the storm path stay safe and warm. Hopefully no power outages or other issues to complicate things. I agree with you Jude, I would have had my wine/vodka/cigarattes in full supply. Maybe no milk, bread or TP but everything important to me would be there. Boy those were the days!! Peachie, your story is interesting. I look forward to hearing more. I am going across the street today to learn more mahjong. 24 more please and thank you!

Mul, snowblower crocs? It made me laugh out loud when I saw them. We're supposed to get 12-18 + inches of snow this weekend with -20 or 30 degrees due to the wind chill. Do you guys think that I should buy a pair?

Dill, how much snow are you supposed to get from this storm? People around here are flocking to the stores buying groceries, generators and whatever else they can think of. When I was drinking, I didn't care if I ran out of milk, but I made sure that I had two boxes of wine on hand. My priorities sure have changed!

Peachie, love hearing about your past. I never would have guessed that you were in the army. Do you guys have winter where you live or is it always hot.

Al, like Ginger, I'm curious about why you would say "Don't hate me" as well. No one here hates anyone on this forum.

Cowboy, those are some cold temps so I can see why you want to wait until Spring to install the garage doors. Brrr!

    Not today...

I join Ginger in being confused about why we would 'hate' you, Empy. Maybe you were writing tongue-in-cheek? That's a beautiful planter. So tastefully done!

Peachie thanks for sharing about your life. I look forward to learning more about you as time goes on. I was wondering how long you have been reading our thread. Your info about your dad being a WWII pilot was interesting. My dad was a Lieutenant in the transportation department spending time in the European countries. After WWII he was called back for the Korean war. That was all before I was born, of course.

Cowboy, it's a crying shame you couldn't get those doors up. It's really been a harsh winter. I'm hoping for an early spring, knock on wood!

Waves to Jude, Rava and Mul!

    Not today.

Oh my goodness Cowboy how cold is that! I actually shivered lwhen I read that. Please stay warm and stay inside., It is quite amazing how one small planet can produce such extremes and, in my opinion, getting more so. I fear for the planet a lot.

My previous life included lots of adventures and different paths. I joined
the Army when I got back from my trip to England because my Dad had been a pilot in the second World War. He actually trained in Canada Cowboy. I trained in electronic warfare and that was very exciting although in my heart I am a true pacifist. Still am. Met my husband who had just come back from Singapore working alongside the British Navy., We fell In love, got married and had two beautiful boys.

l am actually missing Ben tonight. I have a lock of his hair in my dresser.

Night night everyone. Will continue my story tomorrow. Hope that's OK. Life is so precious ., Both good and bad. Depends on how we see it.

I get it, ABC. Two different doors would bug me too, even if it was temporary. My crazy brain!

Dill, I'm glad you're feeling better. A slip does not define us.

Empyr3al, the flowers are beautiful. Can I ask why you say, "don't hate me". I'm confused why we would? Am I missing something?

    Hey Rava, Jude and Mul.

I'll join you all in another day of freedom!

I'm glad you're able to work at your dream job empyr3al, many people aren't that fortunate.

It sounds like a lot of the U.S. is under that storm watch Jude and dill, hope you guys get through it okay.

It's amazing how many people get joint replacements these days Peachie, from young to old.

The new doors are still sitting in the garage Ginger, didn't get enough days of warm weather to get them done, and I hate to just do one at a time as they are quite different in appearance, but I might have to do that if I don't want to wait till spring.

    Waves to Rava and Mulburry...

It's definitely a stay inside day here this morning with a temp of -37C (-34F) with a wind chill of -46C (-51F)

Respect from my workplace and my next choice to the families of patients to support success. Please dont hate me, actions change the world even if within one persons mind. Find your purpose.

Hi everyone. Late night for me. The weather has finally cooled down. Phew.

Dill don't give yourself a hard time. As everyone says here it's just a slip . I feel for you.

Ginger not one person I know who has had a knee replacement has regretted it. IncludiIncg one of our gorgeous residents here who was in his eighties .

Luckily I have not had to have any replacements so far. But, trust me, many of the oldies here have. LOL

Was great to hear from you Empy and Mul.

May you all have a peaceful and happy day today and those in the path of the storms stay safe.
    safe.
    I'm off to bed now.
