Rava, hope that you made it through the wedding unscathed. Social situations where there is a lot of alcohol can be pretty challenging, but we have a lot of tools to use which allows us to say no to the booze. We just have to remember to use them!

Dill, glad to hear that your test results were not a concern. It's never easy waiting for test results to come back.

It's going to be another beautiful day today so maybe Mr. J and I can find something fun to do. We're thinking about taking a hike in the woods or maybe taking the bike out to check out the fall foliage. We shall see...

Lava, I guess you knew what killed that snake. Did you save the egg? We are still hoping Slo stops by. Do you know if her leaving like this is normal?

Rava, you got this! If you anticipate a crazy time, just sneak away early. They'll never notice. Lol

Hope all my Cafe pals have a great day! I'll take another day

Rava, I'm just as confident as you that you will get through this last wedding challenge without even breaking a sweat! (unless it's from dancing ) Sad about the damage to your local park. The park will be rebuilt, but you are right that it will never be the same.

Lav, that's kind of sad about the snake with the ceramic egg inside. We keep chickens too and have trained the hens using plastic eggs Mr. D made on his 3D printer. I never thought of them actually being swallowed by a snake! Geez!

Ginger, I don't have a follow up appointment scheduled. I got a call from the PA on Thursday afternoon confirming that the results were good and everything was stable and that it was all very good.

Jude, I'm interested to hear if the cross bow turns out to be better for your husband or if the shoulder problems continue. Let us know after he gets to try it out for a while.

Cowboy, "Rattlesnake Relocator"?!! Spoken by a truly entrepreneurial spirit!

    Not today.

Good morning Cafe. I completely forget to check in yesterday. Spent some time this morning reading all the posts. Happy Belated Anniversary Jude! Lav, that snake pic is crazy! YIKES! Dill, i am glad your echo showed no changes. Thats a relief for sure! Ginger, you mentioning your “back yard” fire is very similar to our “back yard” beach which is still gone from Hurricane Ian 3 years ago. The hurricane took down all the structures in the park and sand covered all the parking. It will never be the same. Much like fire, flooding ruins everything too. Well today is my last wedding. Since I have done so well at the last 2 I am expecting to be good. I have packed some diet sodas and snacks for after the wedding in my hotel room to enjoy. I am thinking this wedding will be the wildest with drinking and shenanigans. Hi to Cowboy and Mul. 24 more please and thank you!

Well, with 3 separate seasons for him, hopefully he'll have some luck Jude.

I had no idea that you had to train the young chickens to lay their eggs in the nesting boxes Lav, using fake eggs sounds like a good way to do it though.

How did the jerky turn out Rava? You reminded me that I still have some antelope meat that needs to be made into jerky.

Hmmm, Rattlesnake Relocator...that would make for an interesting business card Ginger lol. Definitely not a job for me! And yep, slowly getting started on the fall yard work.

    Waves to dill and Mul...

Dill, glad that your echo showed no changes. I always get anxious waiting for test results to come in.

Cowboy, yes Mr. J does hunt with a bow as well as rifle and muzzle loader. He bought a cross bow this year as he's been having a lot of shoulder pain when using a regular bow. We shall see how that works out.

Ginger, that's interesting about someone who relocates rattlesnakes for a living. Not something that I'd want to do but to each his own I guess.

Lav, that's wild about finding a ceramic egg inside of a snake skeleton. Do you live in Pennsylvania? I'm about 1 1/5 hours away from the Pennsylvania state line so probably not too far from you.

    Waves to Gaga and Mul!

    24 more please...

Now that I have everyone’s attention LOL
I will NOT handle those snakes, not ever. They are Pennsylvania black snakes (sometimes called rat snakes). Supposedly harmless but they do bite as my husband can attest to a few times. He did end up getting the snake stick & relocates them down the road a bit. I always tell him to forget the eggs, I don’t really need all those eggs anyway. And they absolutely do swallow the eggs whole. We found a snake skeleton in our compost pile a few years ago with a fully intact ceramic egg inside. We use the ceramic eggs for ‘training’ the young chickens to lay their eggs in the nest boxes. This has been a 22 yr long education?project & we’re stil learning haha!!!

Lav, what kind of snake was that? Do they swallow the eggs whole? Do you have one of those grabbers they use to pickup garbage? We have a guy in our place in AZ that's called for rattlesnake removal. Here he comes in his golf cart with a 5 gallon bucket and a grabber. He relocates them out back in the desert.

Mul, I'm glad you're getting the much needed rain and it's coming at a time that let's you enjoy the fall afternoons. That's a win/win.

Happy anniversary, Jude. Enjoy your lunch out.

Dill, I'm glad your echo appears normal. Hopefully, the doc agrees. When is that appointment?

ABC, how does it feel to be home? Are you ready to hit the honey do's?

This is a good day to have a good day! I'll take another

Happy Anniversary to you and Mr J Jude! I didn't realize he was a bow hunter as well as rifle.

I think I'd leave those eggs just where they are Lav until the snake moseyed along!

Glad you got some rain Mulburry, we could sure use some as well but after all the farmers are finished with harvest.

That's good news on the Echo dill, staying healthy is important especially as we get older.

Waves to Ginger and Rava, and hope to see Slo check in again one day.

Lav, all I can say is YIKES! How did you gather those eggs?

Cowboy, that "jump out of my skin" comment I made about Ginger's snake story was not intended as a pun but I too saw it after I wrote it. I really didn't expect anyone would pick up on it. Sharp eye!

Rava, that's really great that you are going to leave that gift of the jerky for your family.

Happy Anniversary, Jude! October is a beautiful time of year for a wedding.

Ginger, I'm not a fan of snakes but they usually keep a distance so we get along. I don't believe there are any poisonous snakes in our area so nothing to fear from them.

Mul, glad you got a decent rain. We sure could use the same.

I got the results for my Echo and as far as I could tell there was no change since my last test two years ago. I haven't had the doctor's interpretation yet but I'm not concerned at this point.

    Not today.

Lavande, that snake picture sure woke me up this morning! Yikes! Did you ever get the eggs out?

Mul, can you send some of that rain my way?. We haven't had any measurable rain in a couple of weeks and we aren't supposed to get any until Tuesday.

Cowboy, rifle season doesn't start here until November and bow started October 1st. Mr. J went out again yesterday but didn't see anything. Today is our wedding anniversary so I won't let him go play in the woods. We will probably go out somewhere and have a nice lunch or dinner.

    Hi dill, Rava and Ginger!

When my boys were young, it was our back yard, basically. Makes my heart hurt to know all of it will be gone the next time we go. My middle son and gson hiked in that area just the week before it started. They had a wonderful time and are so glad they made the trek before it started.!
Yup, we've gotten a decent amount of rain over the last few days, and most of it has come at night and early morning too, so could enjoy some beautiful coolish mix of sun and cloud afternoons as well!
That's such a shame that you are losing you're "back yard" so to speak. I always think how devastated I would be if one of my favorite nature areas burned to simthereens. Tragic.
