Good morning Cafe. Not much happening here but gym and mahjong at the clubhouse. I am not quite in the excited mode to be traveling north yet. I still have 3 more weeks. For right now it’s mainly trying to eat up our food and declutter. Tomorrow we are heading 3 hours away to meet our sons girlfriends parents who don’t speak English. This should be fun. They are cooking dinner for us. Wishing everyone a great Friday. Another sober day for us all!!!

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

That should be an interesting visit Rava. What nationality is your son's gf? I'm hoping we've seen the last of the snow for this year, a bit of rain in the forecast for today and temps are starting to climb each day now.
I haven't been to a horse auction in years Jude. Bubba and I used to love going to them, not necessarily to buy but to keep track of horse prices. I must admit that the burgers and pies were an additional reason to go lol.
Farmland all over seems to be getting bought up for urban development dill, luckily we're far enough away from any major urban cities to be affected by it but it sure raises the price of land everywhere. I'm not sure how the farmers can spend that much money on land and make it pay.
Did you get out and buy some socks Peachie to keep your feet warm haha.
Thankfully we haven't had too much for high winds Ginger, but some wind and warmer temps would sure help to dry things up around here.
Not much on the agenda for me today, just start getting things layed out to replace the garage doors next week.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Jude, that sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day! Enjoy the horses!
Rava, safe travels. Enjoy your visit with son's gf's family. It should be interesting!
ABC, I bet you're excited to get those doors up and it's great Adam will be able to use one and keep it out of the landfill!
Hi Dill, Hi Peachie.
I'll join all of you in another day of freedom!

Dill, yes there will be draft horses at the sale, which is why I want to go. There will also be light horses and ponies for sale as well. I miss having horses and I just need a day to mingle among them. It's supposed to rain today but hopefully it will hold off until after we get home.
Rava, have fun at your dinner tonight. What language do your son's girlfriend's parents speak? It should be interesting!
Not today...

Good morning Cafe. Gonna cut Mr. Rs hair, pack and head north to for the visit. The parents are from Cuba. The father speaks English but the mother does not, even though they have been in this country for years. She will be cooking for us. We are staying in a hotel nearby. I think it will go well. Their daughter is wonderful and we hope she is the one for our son. Only time will tell. I see a spark in both of them that lets me know it’s the real thing. Who doesnt like seeing that!!! I hope everyone has a great and sober Saturday. Jude, have fun at the horse show and getting some yummy food. Hope you are still having a good time Peachie! Hi to everyone!!!

Have fun at the sale Jude, probably best if you don't register for a bidder number lol.
Bubba cuts my hair as well Rava, not hard to do with a set of clippers haha. Sounds like your son is in the same situation as me, Bubba's dad spoke very good English, but not so for Bubba's mom. I presume she (the mom) speaks Spanish, is your son fluent in it?
Waves to dill, Ginger, and Peachie!
Got most everything laid out in the garage yesterday, just have to run out to the farm to pick up a few things that I'll need and then I'll be ready to change them out next week.

Have a wonderful day, Jude! I'll be with you in spirit!
Rava, have a great day meeting your son's daughter's family! My nephew married a girl from Bolivia. Her recently widowed mother just came to the country to live with her daughter and hopefully become a citizen. She speaks no English, so my brother and his wife are doing much the same as you and Mr. R. We love our nephew's wife and look forward to meeting her mother one day. Oh, and I am Mr. D's barber too!
Saw the coyote again yesterday. It's definitely still in the area. It just passed through and there were no incidents. Lily just barked her head off until it disappeared again.
Greetings Cowboy, Peachie, Ginger and Mul!
Definitely a good day not to drink!Last edited by dill; Today, 06:31 AM.Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I cut hubby's hair too. Honestly, I don't like doing it and wish he'd go to a barber but after all these years, he wants no part of that.
Not much going on around here today. Sister is coming out for awhile. May get in a walk with her. Otherwise, low key day.
Waves all. I'll take another day of freedom!
