Good morning Cafe. Rainy and dreary here but I am excited to play mahjong with some friends here in my neighborhood. That will at least get me thru the afternoon. They are calling for rain thru the entire weekend. With it being Memorial Day weekend, thats bad for our local businesses. Jude Let us know if you check out the movie. Peachie, I don't really shop Temu but have recently ordered from Alibaba is is about the same. I ordered thru my Pal Pal account which I hope is safer than using my credit card directly. Items not to arrive until July. Fingers crossed. Ginger, I hope that cough gets better each day. It must be so exhausting to be coughing all the time. Jude, I am glad you and Mr. J are loving Susie. I think she probably has her new home right at your place! Cowboy, laundry day sounds so exciting. LOL at least you can get caught up on this rainy day. Dill and Mul, Hi to both of you. 24 more for us all.

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Have fun playing mahjong Rava, how many people are usually coming out to play? I've never shopped Temu either, I stick to Amazon for most anything I order online.
Sounds to me like you've added another fur baby to your family Jude. It's probably a good thing I think.
Waves to the rest of the gang...
Quick check in for me this morning as Corey texted late yesterday afternoon to say we'd be back in the field this morning. I didn't feel like driving out last night just to spend the night alone in the camper so I'll head out earlier this morning to get back at it.

Hi everybody. Watching footy so will be a quick post.Jude, chooks are chickens. I had a giggle. Thought it was a worldwide name. So good Susie is settling in.
Rava I don't know if you're like me but grey and dreary days just do my head in. My mum was the same.
Ginger, if you're not happy re your docs decision please get another opinion. It's your health and should be taken seriously! We deserve better. I remember when I had my stroke being asked if things went bad did I want to be resuscitated and given all the reasons why I probably shouldn't ie broken ribs etc. I'd just lost Ben but thought no, bugger you, I'll take my chances.
Sorry just got a bit emotional there.

Oh Peachie, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine the pain in your heart. I also struggle with seasonal depressed in the gray weather. That's one of the big reasons we started going south. I've been this way since I was little.
ABC, safe travels. I bet you'e already there and on that machine!
Rava, have fun today!
Jude, tell me about Susie. Color, hair, size? Im trying to picture her.
The ER doc gave me Benzonatate for my cough. They work fast and stop the spasms caused by dry coughs. You can only use 2 times a day so I've been using them sparingly.
We started Dutton Ranch last night. It will be good, I'm sure but I think I'm a little tired of all the violence. We are watching Marshalls too.
Test results are back. Bloodwork is perfect so that's good. No valley fever and pneumonia is almost clear. I just need to be patient but you all know that's not one of my virtues.
Counting my blessings! I'll take another day of freedom.

Rava, we used to watch Yellowstone but gave it up toward the latter seasons. We lost interest in the direction it went. Haven't tried any of the spin offs. I really didn't know there were any. I think maybe we'll give Marshals (mentioned by Ginger) a try and see how that goes. Have you ever watched it?
Ginger, I'm really glad to hear the pneumonia is clearing up! I was worried about you! Now if you can just get the cough to leave you alone!
Jude, Susie sounds like a really nice addition to your family.
Peachie, I did not know what a chook was either! Thanks for clearing that up. We have 4 chooks for eggs and the last thing you would ever hear me say is that I would enjoy watching the chooks in our garden!!!
But of course, for us 'garden' means a patch where we grow veggies and flowers, and a chook would be murder on a garden! We say yard instead of garden. And we do very much enjoy watching the hens out in our yard. We have electric wire that keeps them out of our vegetable garden.
Cowboy, I never shop on Temu either. I wonder if you have Walmart up in Canada? I shop online and in-store at Walmart. Of course we also shop online at Amazon for lots of things. The Tim Hortons in our area went out of business. No more Tim Hortons coffee for me to get at the drive thru when I'm in town shopping. It was my favorite!
I'll take another 24 please and thank you.
Dill

Late Friday Night and I am hanging online with some friends and so grateful for you all who have helped me with my sober journey. I am loving the sober life. Everytime that my al mind tries to get me to miss drinking I think of you all and God and poof its gone. I no longer desire to drink and I won't ODAATI quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

Good morning cafe!
Good to see you Drifty, and glad that you are winning the sobriety game!
Rava, I started watching the octopus movie yesterday and I love it! Glad that you have friends in the area to play Mahjong with. I'm sure that it helps you stay away from the booze.
Ginger, I'm glad that your blood tests were all good and that the pneumonia is getting better. Susie is a solid black long haired cat with a medium build. She's absolutely gorgeous with a sweet disposition and she deserves better than what she had in a previous life.
Dill, I don't shop at Temu either as I've heard bad things about the quality of the product and long shipping times. I pretty much stick to Amazon when I need to buy anything.
Peachie, thanks for clearing up the word chook for me. I thought that it was something that grew in your garden!
Cowboy, enjoy your time in the fields today!
24 more for all of us please...

Hi Cafe. Glad I cleared up the chook mystery. Dill you had me giggling at your post. I feel like I
should change my name now. Old people here are often called old chooks here too. Lol. Not very complimentary but us old chooks put up with it with a smile.
Great to see you Drifty. Well done on your continuous sobriety. Wow.
Ginger thank you so much for your understanding as always. It was a horrifying time for me. The Professor who took care of me after my stroke held my hand when I cried my eyes out. Something I'll never forget. But, hey, here I still am getting on with life. So pleased you are getting better. Two tough old chooks.
My footy team won last night and now sit very comfortably on top of the ladder. Yay.
Hi to all and can't wait to see what's for supper tomorrow Cowboy.
Night night. Have a great day.

Chooks is a new word for me as well Peachie, now I'll probably be using that word instead of chickens lol.
Great to see you again Alison, don't be a stranger, you're welcome here anytime.
We actually have a Walmart right in Vegreville dill and we do a bit of shopping there. We buy most of our groceries from the local coop but shop for other things at Walmart. We also have a Tim Hortons which is way to convenient for me to indulge in their caramel ice caps lol.
Glad you're starting to feel better Ginger and everything else appears to be good.
How is the demolishing going Jude? Everything gone and just waiting for the Amish crew now?
Hopefully you'll get some decent weather to spend time outdoors this weekend Rava. More family time for you this weekend?
We got back in the field yesterday but it is still a bit wet. I'm getting tired of going round and round instead of the usual back and forth lol. So many water holes to seed around this year, I don't ever remember a year this bad for water.

Good morning Cafe. Another dreary day. No outside activities for us. Probably a day to play mahjong with Mr R or the grands if I cant get them to come over. We have about 6 ladies in the neighborhood that play so maybe we will get together at the community clubhouse. It’s a great way to pass a crappy day. Good to hear from you Drifty and that you continue successfully on your sobriety journey. Ginger, I am so glad that your tests came back negative. thats a relief! Jude, glad you started the octopus movie and liked it. It’s fun to find something you like ! Peachie, hope your weather is good. The dreary days get old real fast! I used to sit under a bright light which they say helps with seasonal depression. Hi to Dill and Cowboy. Hope everyone has a great Saturday. Also Dutton Ranch is dark so those that don’t like blood and gore, don’t watch it. That is just a warning! 24 more please and thank you!

Hmmm.....Peachie, I don't think I'd mind so much being called a chook. It's way better than the Brit's habit of calling women cows. That truly irks me!
Great to see you, Driftly! Don't be a stranger!
Jude, Susie sounds gorgeous!! The more I hear about her the more I understand why you couldn't leave her in that cage!
Cowboy, It's funny how going in circles gets to you in a way that the back and forth doesn't. But I get it! Round and round feels endless and like you'll never get anywhere, but back and forth kind of feels like an ebb and flow... Am I over thinking this, or what!!! LOL!
. As far as Tim Hortons goes, I usually didn't stop at just the coffee... My weakness was chocolate iced chocolate donuts. I also enjoyed their avacado toast for a more nutritious breakfast. I'm going to miss that Tim Hortons!!
Ginger, hope that cough is gone! I wonder if you'll be more susceptible to pneumonia for a little while? You just be careful around the littles for a while!
We had a rainy old day and night yesterday and had slightly over 2" in the rain gauge! The pond is full to the brim and looks lovely. Hope we get some nice weather to enjoy it this weekend.

Cross post, Rava. It's lucky you have found other Mahjong enthusiast right there in your community! I have yet to play my first game, but am inching closer. I'm halfway thru the second viewing of the tutorial, so it is starting to sink in better. I also found another explanation by a different lady and it's also helpeful. She simplifies things in a way that works for me.Dill
