Good news on Lily! We ended up taking her to an emergency vet service. The ED was very professional and did a wonderful job. They did necessary tests to find out if there was a serious infection or a blockage somewhere. The tests fortunately ruled out those things but she was severely dehydrated and they recommended an overnight stay and IV fluids. At the end of the day yesterday the vet called and gave an update. She was responding well and they even got her to try a few bites of food. We should be able to pick her up later today, thank God! Best we can figure is that she got into something that made her sick. The blood work did not show any sign of elevated white blood cells, so no virus or bacterial infection. Anyway, she is going to be fine, and that's what matters. We discussed the possibility of stress being a factor and the vet said that could very definitly be a factor. Lily has been stressed out a lot lately. (Coyote incident, followed by recent protective mother deer incidents). ....Now for the bill!

Jude, that is such excellent news about your finger! It sound like you just may be on the road to recovery!!

Ginger, that drive to the specialist sounds like a really enjoyable outing. Will you have Mr. G along or maybe one of your sisters?

I'll bet you're happy and relieved about Lily dill, but the vet bill might stress you out lol. Our furry friends are worth it though.

Dill, such a relief about Lily. Hopefully, that bill won't be too bad. Little sis wanted to ride along to the appt as soon as she caught wind of it. Lol We will stop at Trader Joe's and then have lunch. It's always a fun time with her. Lots of laughs!

Peachie, do you like to puzzle? My little sis got me hooked a few years back. I have one going all the time now. All the pieces and colors make me happy, especially in dreary weather.

Ginger, it sounds like your doctors visit is turning into a road trip.At least you'll have lots of company during your two hour drive and it sounds like it will be fun!

Dill, I'm so glad that Lily is going to be O.K. and hopefully the vet bills aren't too high and that she recovers fully. Let us know how she is doing today.

Cowboy, I sure hope that you are able to finish the seeding before it gets too late in the season.

Yesterday, I was sitting in my chair when suddenly there was a cat (Boo) on the table and she didn't run when I went to pet her. Next thing
I know she's in my lap purring away and rubbing all over me. I was feeling pretty down yesterday but that small miracle brought me so much joy. Sometimes that's all it takes to lift my spirits.

AB watched our socceroos today in the world cup. I see they were playing in Canada. Hope the fans behaved themselves after the win. Lol. Aussies can certainly be a bit rambunctious!! Well, a lot actually. We are sports mad.

Ginger, I do enjoy puzzle games but word games better. Used to spend hours doing cryptic crosswords in the local paper. Must get back to it. It was both my Dad's and my favourite for years. We used to ring each other up if we got stuck. Haha.

Dill hope Lily is on the mend. Honestly vet bills here are really high too. I feel for you. I will certainly let you know how the Dockers go this week. They are playing a good team so fingers crossed.

It's been raining all afternoon. I have been hankering for a really good curry all day. Everything has really gone up in price on Uber. Maybe not. Bugger.

Anyhow time to get into my pj's and settle in for the night.

Peachie, funny you mentioned curry. I'm going to make a curry today: Butter Chicken. We love it!

Lily is doing great! She has to eat a bland diet for a couple days and she's on probiotics and has a prescription med for nausea, should she need it. But I don't think she'll need it. So far she is tolerating the chicken and rice we've been giving her. The vet bill was about $2400...

Heading out to Church, so I'll have to eat when I get home. Cowboy, that breakfast looks great!

Good morning Cafe. Cowboy thanks again for a wonderful breakfast! Ginger, I will have to check out that Netflix show. Sounds like something I like. Dill, very happy Lily is doing well. I am guessing sticker shock to be 1,000. Let us know the bill. Jude, so glad Boo brought you around again. Question, is Boo the same cat as Susie. I am a little confused. Had a great time with grandkids friday and yesterday. Today we are resting. Got a new mattress from Amazon for 300 and so happy. Our Tempur Pedic which was so expensive was not all that great. So Amazon for the win! We could not fit our old mattress into our small truck so Mr. R cut a hold in it and wrapped a strap around it and we drug it all the way to the dumpster. Probably a mile or so thru the park and over 6 speed bumps! That was a total redneck move. LOL. 24 more please and thank you.

I don't watch soccer at all Peachie, never really got into the sport, but it is popular here in Canada. Hope your Dockers do well this coming week.

Sounds like Boo somehow knew you needed your spirits lifted Jude, nice that she was able to do that for you.

Sounds like the road trip with your sister will be a lot of fun for you Ginger, some sister shopping time will just add to it.

Any family time planned for today Rava, it's family time for me today as all the kids will be here for an early Fathers Day celebration.

Didn't get any call from Corey but I'm sure they would have been able to get back into the field yesterday. He knew I couldn't help today as all the kids will be here for a visit, early Fathers Day celebration as I've already mentioned. If they did get back seeding yesterday, they should finish up today if everything went well so Corey probably figured there wasn't much sense in me driving out for just the day. Looking forward to visiting with all the kids though!

Dill, ouch but when you said urgent care, I knew that was going to hurt! Lily is worth every penny though! I can't remember, do you have a carecredit card? I think it's a good idea to have that card for just this reason. It let's you pay over time without interest for a period of time. My sister has one and only uses it if there's a high vet bill that pops up.

Jude, that story made my day! Boo's a keeper dont you think? How's the finger today?

Rava, I laughed just thinking about that mattress being towed through your park. How many units are in your resort? It sounds big, if you had to drag it a mile. Lol

Peachie, the same can be said for our rowdy Seahawk football fans. I'm not a fan of sports but Mr G sure is and he's not picky! He'll watch most anything.
