Originally posted by Tabbers (a.k.a. KTAB) View PostMorning folks, JC & Empyr I used to think my puppy was a handful but after reading your accounts I have changed my mind. So in other news regarding that really good job I was after, I was one of the final two candidates but the it was offered to the other person, pretty disappointed tbh but sure not to worry it's not like I don't have a job. I was thinking, in days gone past that would have been the perfect excuse for me to hit the sauce last night but it never even entered my head. 'Drowning your sorrows' what a daft expression and an even more daft thing to do even for normal drinkers. Hiding from emotions doesn't make them go away, it just buries them for a time, took me a long time to realise/accept that fact, progress.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-August 2017
jc there are so many items here. I'm letting her play with a piece of pvc plumbing that over the last week she is fond of. So strange. Better than my cabling and computer systems. Stunning what I find in the mornings. I just got a piece of Delft Blue dutch plate that is worth a fortune and it was on the ground today, surprised it did not break. So higher and higher everything must go. She has figured out how to jump on one thing to another so height is hard to control. Good luck, I'm at roughly 11 weeks.
RunningCourage I excelled at some subjects and might have been an issue with collision with others because its competition in the school I was at. Try going from a private school to a public school. You should see my testing done after highschool using very expensive tests that show what my aptitudes are. They show i'm an inventor, innovater and can read you in seconds. Stunning actually. You would know the what mean when I say mean is, as its a mathematical term. HBMI (Hernan Brain Dominance Instrument) for example. Put me as green 99% and in terms of percentiles I've hit 99 (max) in abstract thinking, and number of others. Math like 97. English or language only like 70 but still above normal. I am very open minded but knowledge restricts it as well as how I was raised. I encourage equality in learning and some need more than others. Situations are all different. Some kids will rule the world eventually Parents that are violent, whether you are given tools to learn like a computer was for me ($2000 nearly annual). Being an addict really changed me as I accept people differently, or would be judgemental. The formative years go until 20. I was safe from TOO much damage. I was a long distance runner, so 10km for many years, (1.6km/1 mile) and yes the endorphin hit is huge and you actually get high because its a natural opiod type of response to pain. Did this until I met the wrong crowd. Smoking really messes with your ability to run. I was so fit it was insane. Could bench lift 150% of my body weight, 10 reps. Now after a couple months of work, because I use my arms and hand tools instead of mechanical most of the time, I could break your arm in less that 2 seconds. I would never do it unless I was mugged. Shows that a healthy upraising can give you health for a long time. Okay thats enough pride for now to overcome shame. LOL. But you know all this.Last edited by empyr3al; August 12, 2017, 09:39 AM."Everybody is a genius. Wow, I was just modding to talk to KTAB and my PC wanted to update. KTAB, sorry. Seriously I just edited the entire thing for spelling and spent 20 minutes writing to you. Then bang my PC shut down. Probably the puppy or windows. After the disappointment I dont know what to say. It was complex about jobs and applications."Everybody is a genius. I am a conputer tech for a hobby so I watch Linus Tech Tips ( he is Canadian ), the guy is crazy (and rich from you tube) and probably the best if you watch you want to learn. Wonder if I need 40gb transfer speeds between my PCs. I use only one PC to save power, but I own 2 high quality. I should take a photo of my PC's and my monitors config."Everybody is a genius. satz123...........what a kind thought. Do teachers get nanna naps? I'd need at least one per lesson.
empyr3al............think I'll stick to my hobby of knitting and sewing
Big waves paulywogg......... lovely to see you back in the game.
IamMary...didn't realise you were up north for a few days. Thought it was a day trip. First time I ever met Mario was in Belfast.
Pupdate..........not too bad today. Didn't make the beach as it was chucking it down. He actually seems to be settling down 48 hours before he goes home.It could be worse, I could be filing.

JaclkieClaire Linus(youtube) is a multi milliionare by now, over a couple years, has like 15-20 staff. Actually it baffles me how much staff he has, Tech companies are dumping mega money at him. Hobby turned into a job. I would love to be him. I probably could have been but i was drunk. Likely one of the most famous, so he gets to touch the most insane stuff. Crazy iif your hobby is constructing new pc's. Super computers, all the latest tech. Silly. Fine you dont want it as a hobby, its a little nuts as its changes constantly. For me its a hobby to watch tech..... it keeps me occupied instead of drunk."Everybody is a genius. Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-August 2017
Morning folks from a sunny Emerald Isle. Thanks for all the comments about my efforts to secure that new job.
So I have been thinking to myself these 7.30 am or earlier wake ups on a Sunday morning, hangover free, have become the norm and I have to say I love the feeling, hope I never tire of it. Dinner out with the family last night and I was happy to drive without even considering it, it didn't dawn on me till we were home how my sobriety has slipped quietly into being how it is.
Quite a change from how things have always been with me, is this what long term sobriety starts to look and feel like? Contentment.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Good morning,
Tabbers (a.k.a. KTAB)...........hand on heart I never tire of waking up with a sober head. Many's the day the kitchen blind has stayed down from morning 'til night as I couldn't bare to look on the day.
Guitarista.........how's it hanging gorgeousness supreme.
empyr3al ..........that would be great if you could turn what you're doing into a job.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-August 2017
Morning Ktab, Mr G, JC, rusty, empy and everyone else
Just back from a shake out run. Feel better now... No plans today other than to not think too much about going back to work tomorrow!
Good post Ktab - there's always something satisfying about waking up without feeling groggy, heavy, headachey, sick, depressed and guilty. I need to mind myself of that.
Hope you all have a great summery sunday.
