Have a great time tomorrow Liz. We have relatives that go every year. German heritage.
And, I absolutely understand what you are saying about the drinking. Such a true statement.

I read Pauly's post before yours Liz and I was like I totally talk to my son more now. He just calls to check in.

Actually they are coming over in the morning and hubby & I are taking off to just run some errands. So I'll check in tomorrow afternoon.

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2018

Good Morning, Everyone.

I am home today and must catch up on all my reports. Yesterday, I did not feel well. I felt like I was coming down with a cold and I felt yucky all day. Feeling better this morning. YAY!

Liz:heartbeat: Your post had so much wisdom. I was the same way...I would drink because I was anxious about something that MIGHT happen...and then it did never did!:cuss: STUPID. Like you said, you got through such losses (your dad, Lucy) and yet the earth still rotated. I think I will copy and paste your post into my personal tool box. How wonderful that you were able to talk to Mark. Hahah about him not knowing about the royal wedding. Have a great time today. I am part German and love German food! I used to go to Oktoberfest from time to time.

Nora-I am glad you called in sick and I hope you are feeling better. Enjoy the hot tub today. You deserve it. :-) Enjoy your break with hubs tomorrow. :-)

Glassie-I am worried about you. Could you see a specialist to try and find out how to treat your diverticulitis? I have attacks of diverticulitis and not only are they painful but they wear me out.

Pauly-Did you get all your Halloween decs up? I love Ulta, too.
bird:hug:SO glad you are safe!! Geez...that must have been so frightening for you. I give you a lot of credit for staying strong through the hurricane.

Big hellos to our friends techie, abcowboy, NoSugar, and anyone I missed...happy AF Saturday!!

Hi Friends,

I forgot to add...today is the 10-year anniversary of the day my family staged their intervention and insisted I go into rehab. Best decision I ever made in NOT going. I found MWO, Naltrexone and Baclofen and got my life back with the help of people here. I am so grateful!

Good Early Morning Everyone!

Had a pretty productive day yesterday and today I will take my mom to church and then have lunch with her. I leave tomorrow for Connecticut for work so I have to take care of a few things before I leave.

Liz-I hope you had a nice time at the Oktoberfest gathering. Cute pictures of you, Erin and Logan on FB.

Glassie, darling, I hope you were able to enjoy your weekend. How are the newlyweds?

Nora-enjoy your caregiving break today and have fun cuddling Ms. Savannah.

Big hellos to bird, Pauly, and anyone I missed...happy AF Sunday!

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2018

Can't believe the weekend is almost over. A lot of eating this weekend. We had fun. Kinda weird mom being there without daddy, though. After church my sister BIL, hubby Logan mom and me went to lunch together. It was fun, mom was kinda quiet. I came home with a doggie bag and was just overwhelmed by the fact there was no Lucy to greet me and their is just a void with daddy. I had a pretty good cry and I'm really struggling to adjust to these changes. We are trying to carry on with life, but it ain't easy.
RUsty I hope you're feeling better! How is your mom doing? Is she liking where she lives any better. Enjoy Connecticut. Leaves are starting to change color. Probably more colorful where you live already. Another rainy day on tap for tomorrow.
PAuly and Nora, I'm glad your kids keep in touch with you too. It's great that they actually want to talk to us, lol! Today we FaceTime with CJ and Joe and they are doing very well. Must admit, I thought they were crazy for doing this, but they're doing it and thriving! I'm happy for them, that's all I want for all them, to be happy.
BIrd, guess your busy with football and games?
Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2018

Hi Friends!!!

Rushing to get to the airport but wanted to pop in really quick!!

Liz-my mom really likes where she is living...and we are delighted. She gets involved in SO many activities and almost every day, she has plans to do something. It is wonderful. We are truly blessed. I love CT and RI, too! I know how much you miss your dad and Lucy, sweetheart, and I am glad you can just vent, cry or whatever, to get through this without drinking. So, so proud of you! No easy feat for sure!!

Nora-how was your day yesterday? Did you get in the hot tub?

Pauly-can you send pics of your Halloween decs? I was tempted to go in Dollar Tree yesterday but resisted. So proud of myself. Hahah!!! YES on Michelle not moving in with the crazy boyfriend. It must be such a relief for you!
bird-how was your weekend? Is everything OK now with your pool?

Hello and hugs to Glass Half Empty. I hope you are not in pain, darling.

Mama bear and I had a marathon text conversation last Friday. She said I could pass this on to everyone: she lost her house finally on Friday but she is OK with it. She and hubs found a cute rental right down road. Nana is in assisted-living and miserable, but Mama attributes that to the negative attitudes that Nana, hubs, and SIL have had their whole lives. She has learned to live with it...and drum roll please...she is NOT drowning herself in booze. Very proud of her. I miss her! She wanted me to tell everyone HELLOOOO!

OK, I am off! Happy Monday, everyone! :-)

Hi all,
Went to a state park out west of Atlanta Sat. and still tired and sore from that. Feeling pretty anxious and think I need to lay off the caffiene completely. I am really sensitive to it....darn blinker went out and have to take half the car apart to change it. Will probably take it to a shop and have it done. I'll be back later...love to all

How's everyone doing? Rusty, thanks for the update on mama bear. Like Pauly I see her occasionally on fb. She always seems to make the best of whatever situation she's in. I love that about her. If you talk to her again send her my love. Hope you enjoy CT? Don't work too hard.
bird, well I'm impressed, you could change your blinker light! Don't have a mechanical bone in my body. Sounds like it might just be easier to take it in. Being sore means you got a great work out! I hope you at least slept well and felt accomplished.

PAuly and Nora, how was Monday for you guys? PAuly do you watch the boys on a regular basis? Nora, did you see Savanbah yesterday?
Working again tomorrow then I'm off for the rest of the week. Temperature are definitely getting colder. I will definitely pull out the down comforters this week. So hard to get out of bed in the morning when it's cold. I just hate it.

I'm back...really felt like crap today, I am thinking it might be the montelukast I took last night. It is for asthma, I don't take it on a regular basis. So I was watching this movie about this guy who was living in the woods and very isolated. Sometimes I feel I have a bit of a problem kinda like that, not liking to be indoors and if I am I need the windows to be open and preferably the doors as well. And I hardly ever talk to anyone aside from my kids. I talk on the phone about once a month. When I was working, I rarely talked to anyone at work unless I just had to..I guess that is a little weird,idk...maybe I should join a band or something.......Rusty, glad your mom likes her place of living. Sorry MB lost her place, I see her on fb sometimes....Liz,a good cry feels so good when it is over. Enjoy your time off....Pauly, are you glad for the cold? It was 88 here today....Nora, how is the tub. Did you get the chemicals figured out?...so I am not going to change the bulb in the car. I will just take it in. I hate working on cars....
