Well. Apparently treatment centre was very intense for the 4 weeks.
He's keeping busy here.

As was the case the last time he's out cycling, joined local gym, eating me out of house & home. Literally.
He's been going to AA meetings in person & online other times. A lot of in-person meetings never came back after Covid.
He will go to Aftercare in the Rutland Centre each week so with no car we'll have to bring him. Or he may cycle out & we pick him up. Pain in the arse too but we'll do it. But I know there is AlAnon there too so we will try get the same night.

Only time will tell. So we are back to square one watching him - which is not ideal but hopefully he'll get on that scheme in Tralee. It's where former residents of centre who are in recovery get their own accomodation, are offered 20 hours work a week and they stick together for 6/12 months.

Thank feck for the world cup soccer to keep him from being in his room too much. He has to come down & mingle with his father ( even I don't do that) :haha:

Morning everyone

Glad Joe has turned the corner . I’ve been sitting on the fence too Mary. Going to Vienna to the Christmas markets with my friend next week so will see after that.

Beautiful sunny morning if a bit cold. Got my walk done early and now have to go to the bank to transfer deposit on fishing holiday next year for himself. Hate going to banks as much as grocery shopping!

Would you think of moving jobs Satz or does that one suit you hours wise, location etc. That’s the way I am, the days, location etc are perfect and if I’m a bit bored at times it won’t kill me and it is only for a few more years. How is YS since he came home?

Sounds like you both have it Molly?
I havnt been boosted yet, due it. Was sort of on the fence as loads of people saying the booster is as bad as covid!
Maybe I will just get it done.
Poor Joe, at least he's turned the corner now.

I bet that was a nightmare Rustop! We had to replace the pump last year, it finally gave up. Trickle showers are painful. Now they'd skin you!

Writings on the wall with N so satz123.. their loss (middle finger emoji). Still, you could have a small browse on jobs.ie for similar roles...

Hi folks...Joe has been very ill but think he may have turned a corner today...he was due to get his latest booster yesterday so obviously wasn't as protected as me..I had mine much more recently so not as sick...just exhausted and Max doesn't help bless him..walks are a bit down the agenda.
Well done on jnr. cert results Mary...I was in boarding school so no chance to get langers!! In fact the nuns wouldn't even let us speak to our parents on the phone...
Right hear the patient mooching so must see what's up!

Sorry Mary, forgot to answer. Our problem with the water was pressure. We live on a height and when they lowered the pressure too much it came to the house but did not fill the tanks up in the attic. Got it sorted eventually, a few neighbors were involved but it took time.

Good morning everyone

Horrendous one here with rain but managed to get walk in with all the rain gear on.

Belated congratulations on the anniversary JC and you on the Junior cycle results Mary. You played a background role in them.

Totally agree Satz, let them take the two days and stick them where the sun don’t shine. Two can play at that game. Be interesting to see how they play it out.

Molly, how is Joe? You are probably up to your eyes but check in if you get a chance.

Right need to do the grocery shopping but need to make a list first.

Re: Army November 2022

A job appeared on the notice board in work.
Family Liaison Officer.
I said "that'd be nice - 2 days a week" - so I applied.

Then I re-read the requirements and they were so specific I smelled a rat. A lot of it we already do as part of the admin side of things on reception.
The full time Receptionist has been training over the last few weeks & from what my spies told me it was for this job.

They were only advertising the job 'cos they have to as part of Hiring Policy.
A tick the box exercise.

I said to myself they are not making a bloody fool of me - hauling me in for interview for a job that's already earmarked for someone else.
So I emailed HR & said as much - that I will withdraw my application, that I wasn't going to muddy the waters if N was going for the job.
They just came back in that very annoying non-committal HR way and said "thanks for letting us know you are withdrawing your application":cuss:
So looks like I was right :haha:

Now............. I wonder who they think will cover N on reception for the 2 days she is doing something else -
guess who it will not be

Great news on the Junior cert Mers.:yay:
'Stoop the Head' grub is yummy ......

I don't remember my Inter Cert ( as it was known in the dark ages) ........ doubt if we had the money to get langers....

Happy anniversary @JackieClaire
And God bless soccer - the peace is great here.
( even though the rebel in me wants to protest at the shite that goes on in Qatar - FIFA should be ashamed of themselves ....... it's ALL about the money )

Why did you have so much water problems Rustop? I could actually take no electricity before no water.
It's happened us a few times, but only for an hour here and there. This was 2 days and people were going nuts, rightly so.

Wonder how Joe's doing..

Late check in from me..............had to go and get my ear trumpets and hearing tested. Good news is my haring hasn't changed. Then we had a wander round the shops. Its our wedding anniversary today and said many moons ago we weren't going to make a fuss. Himself has taken the day off and my gift is letting him watch the world cup until his eyeballs fall out.

mollyka............big hugs to you and Joe.

Ok, youve convinced me Rustop! Did you say its closed over the winter? Ill google.

Everyone over this direction has no water for the past 2 days. Except farmers with wells and us :haha: our original house is about 90 years old so we seem to be on another water source. Power went in a lot of houses too for a few hours.. Sister and her gang are slumming it in our very tatty showers!!

Aftercare sounds like the way to go for YS. How do you get him on that program? Is he keen to go? How long can you stay in aftercare?
Morning everyone

You lucky thing having water Mary. That was my life last summer, no joke. Think that place is open over the winter. They close the slide if it rains but would recommend off season as queues were crazy last summer.

Would have assumed that aftercare was part of the package? You pay enough?

Hope all the Covid patients and JC’s pa-in-law continue to improve. Catching up on house work today.
