Evening folks!
I had a nice visit with my girls while Bill was at his FOP meeting. He was concerned that possibly some of the retiree’s benefits were gong to be reduced but apparently everything is OK for now. We’ve had drizzles a few times today but no rain to write home about.
PQ, you got Mick’s pic posted, yay!
I guess the CC Director knows her days could be limited, haha! I hope they all come to an agreement. Get things settled soon.
Glad you had a quiet day.
Have a nice night all.

MAE ALL...nice quiet day here, posting now to kill the next 1/2hr LOL. Nothing much happening around here. I have definitely got to book some time off before I run out of year. Will check back in later....PQ
Home now, it's really muggy out there, guess that means we'll be getting rain. The teacher's association said if they didn't come to an agreement they'll be on strike Oct 6th. The premiere said 4 other union's have agreed to the salary proposals and there is no more money. Boss figures the government will lock them out Sep 29th. Ask me how the cc director is doing. LOL
Wishing everyone a peaceful evening....PQLast edited by porqoui; September 10, 2025, 06:17 PM.

Ted, just click on the Upload Attachments button. From there you can add your photos if you they’re not too big. Glad your day has been good. Leaving to see my daughter soon.

Good morning friends! Starting out cloudy with a bit of drizzle, heading up to 71 degrees.
we had. The new woodstove delivered at 8 am, haha, those farm boys don’t waste any time. Not sure what Bill plans to do about the chimney issues but he’ll figure it out I’m sure. Heading out now for a haircut then I’ll be spending a few hours at my daughter’s house while Bill attends an FOP meeting nearby.
PQ, enjoy your summer while it lasts, Lol. We both know what’s coming soon.
i’ve become used to finding snake skins believe it or not. I know the snakes are around but try not to get too crazy about them. They do have a purpose, eating field mice & the like, just trying to share the space with the wildlife around here. Matilda’s diet was prescribed by the Vet due to her chronic kidney disease. I pick up a whole chicken on sale, roast it & chop it up & freeze it in small bags to use as needed for her. Good dog parenting huh??
Mick, sorry about your van incident. This stuff happens to all of us. Bill has had several issues negotiating tight corners with his trailer too. Everything is fixable, right? I hope your weather clears so you can get out & have some fun.
hello to Pie & Cyn, thinking of you both!
Have a good day all!

MAE ALL...quiet on the thread just like the rest of my day. Had enough to keep me busy and hardly saw the cc director. You're right Lav, even beating it into her probably wouldn't work. I can't control her but I can control me. It turned out to be quite warm today 27C/81F, everyone's saying we finally got our summer. I agree because when I did some running around at lunchtime there was construction on almost every road I travelled. Seems to be more cars than ever these days.
Lav...I would hate to come across a snake skin, I'd always be wondering where it is. When I dog sit the senior one eats a mixture of dry/wet/and pieces of whatever was left over chicken, turkey, ham etc. Otherwise he won't have anything to due with it. Haha
Mick...I think Lav is right and your off in your van. Have a great trip and I'm sure we'll hear from you soon.
Hope everyone had a good day and whishing all a peaceful night....PQ

Happy Tuesday one & all!
Sunny & a lovely 67 degrees right now, love tis weather.
I have to go buy a chicken to roast for Matilda, that’s right my dog is on a low fat diet so I add bits of chicken to her dry food. Senior dogs are as needy as us seniors haha!
PQ, sounds like yo handled the work situation perfectly, LOL. Some people can take a hint, some you almost have to beat it into them, right???
So yesterday I found a long snake skin on the lawn. I guess that means my snake is still growing, yikes. Strangely I found it in the grass on the far side of the driveway away from the chicken house. I guess my snake will be slithering around naked for a few days - I really don’t know what they do.
Mick, I’m guessing you are out on the road in your van. Have a safe & wonderful trip.
Cyn, thinking about you & of course your friend. With all of the pollution we have in our air, land & water I truly feel like we’re all going to to come down with something sooner or later. It’s very sad indeed. Please take care of you first, hugs.
Pie, what’s up in your world? Any new rescues needing places to stay?
Have a great day all!

MAE ALL…well, today just few by. With programs starting I knew I’d be busy with I signed up for the wrong class, can I still get into xxx, I want to renew my membership, etc, etc., etc. I received an email from facility staff that my Saturday renter was interrupted because a mayoral candidate’s campaign group wanted to get in early. That really pissed me off as the organizer knew they couldn’t have the room until 6pm, they showed up at 5pm. Grrr then the cc Director said she needed to send the Professional Day email right away. I felt like saying F you, I’ve been on you all last week to get prepared for this. I created the programs last week because I knew and told her to verify everything was ok. Edited her email template, added the registration links and she sent it out. Right away she started getting I can’t register for this, it won’t let me. I just looked at her and said Did you verify everything was ok? Didn’t really get an answer to that. Discovered one program still had the old memberships attached to it so when I updated that everything worked. You can bet you’re a$$ she’ll be creating her own programs from now. Thanks for the vent, needed that. LOL
Lav…thanks for the snake clarification, my god 5+ feet ugh is right. It feels good to get those maintenance chores done, doesn’t it. Oh no, not fraudulent activity in personal checking account, how frustrating, so much to do to sort it all out. Wishing you luck with that.
Mick…I guess you didn’t specify which time zone you wanted for the moon’s arrival Haha I actually saw a picture of it on the news this morning, I wouldn’t be staying up for it. All in all Monday was a good day. Safe travels tomorrow.
TG…glad you got all of that off your chest, I know it makes me feel better. Sorry you were under the weather but that explains why we didn’t see you sooner once you said you remembered your password. Good idea to let Trader Joes go if you can, you’ve got more important things to attend to.
Have a good night everyone….PQ

Good afternoon one & all! Sunny here, nice breeze, can’t complain.
We had a technician here at 8:30 am to give the heating system the once over & also flush out the hot water (tankless) system. Good to get that stuff out of the way. Then I had to go to the bank to let them know I found fraudulent activity in my personal checking account over the weekend & had turned off the card. I now have a few phone #s to call & pitch a bi*ch. to & try to get these charges removed, ugh. This same thing happened to me a few years ago, what a pain.
Ted, I did see the orange glow just before sunset but the moon was it’s usual white/yellow. Usually when these big events happened we’re socked in with clouds & can’t see a thing haha. Good luck with the bird project, it’s a good thing to do. Unfortunately the more birds we attract here the more the stupid cats catch & destroy.
Cyn, I’m sorry you were sick. This is only the beginning of virus season I’m afraid. When you’re feeling better go get your flu &Covid vaccines - Medicare is still footing the bill for them. That’s very sad hearing about your friend’s brain tumor. Seems to be a rise in the number of cases, it used to be quite rare. I’ve long thought environmental issues must factor in. Farming practices using herbicides, etc likely too. I understand your wanting to be with your friend at this time. I hope you can work something out that won’t put too much strain on you. You must take care of you as well.
Waving hello to Pie & PQ!
Have a great day everyone.

Mae all, sorry to be out of touch… somehow I managed to get a bug (even though wearing a mask at work), so I’ve really been down and out for the last few days… just a garden-variety cold, but it took a toll… I am feeling better today, but still kind of weak, which is strange for me. Missed work Saturday and Sunday (which was actually a nice break.)
I’ve been having some serious life reflections while I am sitting here in my apartment recuperating… more on that later, but yesterday I had a long phone call with a dear friend in Minnesota (where I used to live) who has a tumor in her brain. We have been friends for decades - (when I was a professional singer, she was my pianist - we were a duo, traveling and studying together.) She has known about this tumor for several months, and the docs said to ‘wait and see’ but now she is having headaches. So, soon I will go up to MN to be with her for whatever the next step is in getting a ‘sample’ to see what the tumor consists of. This is sobering stuff, and of course makes me think about how I should spend my remaining years (I’m 69, so I’m in my 70th year!!!)
Anyway, I think I will stop the Trader Joe’s job… I was already thinking that when vaccines were no longer mandated… do I really want to work in close quarters with employees and patrons who are unvaccinated? No! I still have neural issues from other year’s Covid infections, so I think I’ll be bowing out of that workforce soon. And then I’ll be available to my friend for her health journey…
Sorry for the long post, but that’s it for me at the moment. (Ted, I also sat up watching for the red moon… all I saw was a golden full moon, but it was lovely…)
Cheers and best wishes to all. Thank you for continuing to be here…

Good morning all how are we doing today? Hope everyone is doing well at the start of a new week. It is definitely a crisp autumn morning, I have just been to the van checking the heating system and it works. Here's a laugh for you. We were supposed to get blood moon last night and I was going to take some photographs of it. So I asked Julie to have a quick look on the internet and see what time it was scheduled for stop her reply was between 11 p.m. and 12 56 am so I set my camera up on the tripod with all the bits and pieces and remorts that go with it. As we were having tea at about seven o'clock I knew this a redness in the sky and remarked on it. From 11 pm till about 12 30 am I watching the moon waiting for it to go red. Alas did not do such a thing, I then checked on information Julie had given me to find out she had been looking at the times in India and that the red sky I saw at 7 pm was in actual fact the moon in Britain. Got some lovely pictures of a yellow moon!
hiya ppqp glad the jab did the trick and that you are ok.happy haircut too.lets see what Monday brings you
hiya lav how are you doing? Hope all is well with you. I started building my wildlife garden yesterday. Basically up in the corner before you go out of the back gate I am going to put a border in and plant it will wildflowers etc teasels poppies whatever I've got hopefully I can bring the small birds in to feed and photograph I've already done quite good bringing a variety of smaller birds in but it takes time and they have got to realize that there is a food source now here's long as it doesn't bring in any black snakes!!!hope you have a good day.
Hiya teegee how are things with you? Hope all is well and that you are looking after yourself as well as working.
