Rags - so sorry to hear about beautiful big Gus.

Our Tassie Devils look cuter than that possum!

Hi Missy - your trip sounds wonderful; can't wait to see some photos on your return (though I'm tempted to tell you go buy another cable :H)

Burying bananas round my kale to see if it gets rid of the aphids; already squirted them with lemon juice, but they're still feasting and breeding

Only a few d-grade-think-they're-a-grade celebs in Perth, Mr G and none round this mozzie infested swamp.

      Where's Nicey?

          Rags,

Condolences over your loss of Gus. Never easy to lose a dog. They are such faithful friends.

Siren - we totally loved it! And loved going to the working farms and the Mennonite information Centre. But the cheese factory wasn't open!!! We have been buying Amish cheese for the last couple of weeks and really appreciated its taste - it was the first place we wanted to visit this morning but it was closed!!!

I really appreciated the care that was taken of the land, with careful planning of crops. I was also quite taken with a lot of the philosophy, athough I also didn't agree with a lot of it

We thought the number of retail shops/outlet malls at the Lancaster end was really incongruous though :H

                  Thanks Undies.
Though Gus wasn't mine, I loved looking after him. He was such a placid, lovable doggy.
Owner pretty distraught as the dogs are her family. Offered to go up to Sydney to be with her but she said she'd be OK. Has a friend staying tonight with her.

So sorry to hear about Gus, Raggsy. He looks like a beautiful boy.

Missy - so good to hear from you. I checked your Wiki link and of course 'Intercourse' jumped out at me. Strange name for a town... as is Blue Ball. **snigger**

Birdy - how come you're staying in a yurt?

Yeah, yeah ..... and there is plenty of souvenies with double d'entrendre in the shops too. There is also "paradise", "fertility" and something else.

There is also Shoo-fly pie. And it is the home of Whoopie-pie. I looked at the recipes but neither appealed. :H

The quilting, though, was glorious :h:h And the preserves and pickles. If Aus/NZ didn't have customs rules about taking back food and wood, my bags would have been full. (We bought a little jar of sauerkraut, but cant work out when we might get a chance to slow cook a corned beef to eat with it before we leave!!)

Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.
