Late check in for me and I'm really tired. I had a terrible night's sleep for no particular reason, and I had to get up and be at the hospital by 7:00.

Jude, I hope you get to feeling better soon. Urgent care is probably a good idea.

24 more for all of us please and thank you.
    Dill

My advice would be to go to see a doctor (or specialist if possible) ASAP and try to do whatever possible to nip it in the bud. Cause, from personal experience, a longer term sinus infection can change your whole sinus environment making you more prone to future sinus infections... leading to chronic sinusitus (which can be very difficult to treat and make life pretty miserable).

abcowboy I saw that about AB/SK getting snow, crazy! We've had some pretty brutal weather lately, atmospheric river last sun/mon, and torrential thunderstroms last night.......... but we've also had a couple really nice days, with warmish temps (15C ish) and sun, and boy is it lovely getting out in that sunshine, starting to feel like spring when the sun comes out (especially with so many flowers and blossoms blooming now). I can't wait to finally get real nice stretch of good weather though, haven't had a proper stretch in ages it seems.

We went to urgent care yesterday, thankfully covid and flu tests were negative. Looks like it's a nasty, viral upper respiratory infection.
I have COPD from years of smoking in the past so I have to be really careful about my lungs. Apparently the viral infection has progressed to a bacterial infection in my lungs, so I'm on a boatload of antibiotics and steroids. I'm feeling a little more alive today and hopefully that will keep improving.

Ginger, safe travels if your not home already. How long of a drive is it?

Looking forward to another 24 hours of freedom.

So glad you and your sister got treatment and you are starting to feel better, Jude. Now you will be able to enjoy that Florida sunshine!

Mul, that's good advice about getting seen by and ENT asap. We tend to wait too long to get ourselves to the doctor and it causes needless suffering.

Rava, sometimes things just don't go the way we'd like. The cost of real estate is one of those things. You did what you had to do in order to live out your dreams.

Slo, alcohol is sold just about everywhere around here, too. But lucky for me I live in a 'dry' town. No al sales allowed in this little village. It' disappoints a lot of people, but for me, it's just fine!

Ginger how you travels are going smoothly.

Cowboy, I always drank to excess when I drank too.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good morning Cafe. Dill I hope you make it through the day. Nothing worse than not being able to sleep. Jude, glad you and sis went to urgent care. What a crappy way to spend your vacation. Slo, I do like the warmer weather in the winter for us but also looking forward to spending the summer with the grands. This sounds weird to say but retirement for me is hard. It’s boring at times and sometimes I wish I had a schedule of some sort. I went from 100 miles per hour to basically 0. It’s a hard adjustment. Alcohol at every corner makes my situation a daily challenge. I thought by now it would be easier but some days are really hard. I have slipped a few times but immediately got back up, dusted myself off and got back in the game. I don’t want a few slips to start breaking me down. Getting older has its challenges for sure. Got my teeth finally placed yesterday so the mouth is good. Hope everyone has a good day. Hi to everyone! 24 more please and thank you.

Glad to hear you and your sister were able to get in and get some medication Jude, sounds like you'll still be able to enjoy some of your vacation.

Sounds like a good day just to relax and refresh dill, have a nap or two if required.

The only place you can but booze in Alberta is from a liquor store Slo, but there's lots of them in every town. I'm glad that I never walk through those doors though.

I'm glad that I'm still doing a bit of work Rava, it makes my retirement easier to handle. I'm sure I'll start volunteering in a few places once I retire completely in a couple of years.

Hope you made it home safe and sound Ginger!

We did get a pile of snow Mulburry, and it's still snowing a bit this morning.

My trip out to the dentist's yesterday morning wasn't too bad, but coming back home was another story, 4 wheel drive most of the way. I think we got 8 - 10" yesterday and supposed to continue snowing until this afternoon. Hopefully this will be the last big snowfall of the year.

I would hope it’s your last big snowfall of the year too, Cowboy. Is it ever raining hard outside here now!

Mul, that’s right; you suffer with chronic sinus problems. My daughter looked pretty miserable the other day. She was planning on seeking treatment for the probable sinus infection, so hopefully she can get it knocked out.

Oh dear, Jude. So sorry that the illness is putting a damper on your vacation.

Dill, hope you got a good sleep last night to make up for the night before.

I can see where retirement would be a hard adjustment if you were used to the structure of a very full schedule, Rava. Especially in a retirement community with lots of “happy hour” type of events.

I got out on my bike yesterday a bit, so got the opportunity to visit with some neighbors. That was nice.

Ginger should be home by now!

Good morning Cafe. We have a ring camera which we check in the morning and I see a sheriff going around our house with flashlights. Turns out we had a huge bobcat wondering around the house and front of condo. This is a reason why I am glad that I dont have to walk a dog anymore. Yikes. Wishing everyone a great and sober day. I am headed to a farmers market with my neighbors. 24 more please

Glad you were able to get out on a bike ride Slo, being stuck in the house all day isn't good for anyone.

Rava, that's great that you got your teeth placed and that whole chapter is behind you!

Cowboy, that must have been a nerve-wracking drive home from the dentist. Glad you made it home safely.

Yes, Slo, I did finally get all caught up on my sleep. I took Cowboy's advice too, and took it easy yesterday. I'm glad you were able to get out on your bike the other day. That must have lifted your spirits.

Greetings Jude, and Ginger, our intrepid travelers.
                            Greetings to you too, Mul.

We are in the process of trying to trap our nocturnal visitor. The cat has come up on the short end of the stick in a skirmish or two, so we set up the game camera in the barn to see why. We saw lots of movements through the night by the cat, and finally we saw the culprit. It was a possum! So, we are trying to trap it to get it out of the barn and let the cat live in peace once again. The country life....

Cross post. Wow, Rava! Your critter tops mine any day! I've never seen a bobcat, but we have been told that they are making a comeback in our area.

Possums and bobcats, oh my! That would be scary to encounter a bobcat while walking a dog.

I was able to go over to my daughter’s house yesterday afternoon and have her company and my 2 y/o grandson’s. It was just a heavenly day outside!

I might have to give up cleaning my own place and hire in some help. I have been struggling for so long with this; trying to divvy things up in a way I can manage, but I get so winded from the postural tachycardia syndrome, and so in pain from the neuropathy. I might have to wave the white flag of defeat.

Let’s all have an AF weekend!
