Cowboy, we've been seeing fertilized and weed control done by drone in recent years too. But the seeding by drone is a new technique. In this case they were sowing soy beans in a wheat field. The wheat is already qrowing and so the drone will disperse the soy beans amongst the wheat. The theory is that since no heavy machinery is being used and compressing the soil that the beans can land on the surface and germinate there successfully. The wheat will grow and be combined when it's ready and the soy beans will be growing but not tall enough for the combine to affect them. After the wheat is harvested the soy beans continue growing until ready for harvest. Timing is everything. I would think rain is everything too if those seeds are exposed on the top of the soil! Anyway, this farmer friend is taking a risk, IMO, but apparently he is willing to experiment. Farmers have always been innovators,
Ginger, it looks like you have been an incredibly good influence on your sisters and friend! It reminds me of that quote about dropping a pebble in a pool and watching the ripples emanate from it.
Slo, so great that you have had D1 visiting!
Rava, is today the day the exterminators come?
24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.
