My sister had both knees replaced a few years ago and she has never regretted it. My Dad's knees were terrible, but he never had the much needed surgery. The last few years of his life were spent in agony with limited mobility. His quality of life would have been so much better if he'd had the surgery.

The Fall colors are spectacular this year and driving home yesterday was a real pleasure. I took some pics and will try to post some later.

24 more please and thank you!

I would dread a joint replacement surgery, as does Mr. D. But I dread even more the loss of mobility. I think quite often, with gratitude, that I feel blessed to have my mobility. Would love to see your fall colors if you have the time to post, Jude.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

4:47am in Alberta, I'll have another 24 please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of healthy living:

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Up a bit earlier today as I have to meet the wholesaler in Mannville this morning at 7:45 to get the rest of the electrical material needed to wire in the new bins.

I also would love to see pics of everyone's fall colors!

Good morning Cafe. Mul, i am so glad that your place and your moms made out well with the rain. Mother Nature can sure play havoc on everything. All this talk of knee replacement makes me feel lucky that KNOCK ON WOOD, my knees are working so far. Off to the gym this morning. Wishing everyone a peaceful day. 24 more hours of sobriety please.

I can't remember where you're located, but if it's Alberta it should have been on the news, it actually made the top story of The National one day. If you're in the US though, then I could see it easily slipping through, as there is so much (weather related and otherwise) other news going on down there.

I'll also echo being glad to have the full use of my joints and limbs. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my mobility, that would not be a pleasant prospect to think about. My dad did have to get a hip replacement in his 60's, and I do notice a touch of joint pain here and there, so it's probably something I'll have to deal with eventually, but best not to think too far into the future. Not today.

Mul, I have heard from several sources that hip replacement is much easier than knee, so IF you have to have that done in the distant future, it shouldn't be too, too bad.

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go.... Today is volunteer day.

And I'm pretty sure you won't be drinking tonight either Rava, enjoy your supper out with your friends.

You gave me a chuckle this morning dill as I remembered another version to that saying "I owe, I owe, so it's off to work I go" lol

Mul, I thought you were in British Columbia? I'm in WA state.

I need to get to work on wrap up around here. Problem is, a lot of it has to be done last minute.

I'll gladly take another day of freedom!

Good morning cafe! Not much happening around here today. I've been putting off weeding out my closets and donating some clothes to the Salvation Army, but today I may tackle the project.

Hope that everyone has a great and booze free day. 24 more please...
