I am trying to decide if I should keep this conversation going and part of me says no, time to move on. But yet I have this one bittersweet memory I would like to share. Years ago, we had an old barn cat. Every day I would go out and feed it at the barn. One day it didn't show up at feeding time. I looked everywhere and called and called for him. He never came. At that time we also had a mixed breed dog (akita/lab) named Kela. She saw what I was doing. Later that day she came up to the deck with something in her mouth. She gently put it down in front of us. It was our dear barn cat's lifeless body. She knew we were looking for him and she knew where he was so she brought him to us. and we were able to properly bury him. He was very old and had a full life.

Hope your dental work goes well, Rava. "This too shall pass."

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good luck with the dental work Rava, hope all goes smoothly.

Amazing how the dog knew what you were looking for dill, they seem to understand a lot of things without being told.

No natural Vitamin D for me either Slo, it's cloudy and snowing here. Looks like I'll be getting some fresh air and exercise though lol.

Waves to the rest of the gang!

          Good morning,

Hope your dental work goes well, Rava; and hope yours did as well, Jude.

Thank you for sharing that poignant story about your dog and barn cat, Dill. My little sister had a cat that got out and ran away, which was so unlike her. They were able to find her after a few days, and indeed she had gone away to die. My sister was able to hold her while she died.

I used to manage without natural vitamin D up here in a northern climate much better when I could be active outside. I loved being outside in Winter. With the disabling conditions I’m struggling with now, I am spending much more time indoors. No wonder my vitamin D level has tanked. Thought I was compensating enough with the two short trips to sunnier climates this Winter, plus getting a little sun on my face and on my closed eyelids here & there, but no. It hasn’t been enough.

Nothing much today; just some cooking, cleaning, shopping, doing my rehab exercises & interventions, and going to my medical appointment. 24 hours more for me on an ordinary day please!

Oh Dill, thanks for sharing that story. Animals are amazing.

Greetings all! I'll take another day of freedom!

No Super Bowl party for me but I did watch it and was pretty disappointed that the Chiefs blew their chance. It would have been really cool to see history being made with a threepeat, but what can you do (not drown your sorrows in booze is what not to do, haha).

Unfortunately even getting out a lot in winter doesn't help because the UV index is too low to provide any vitamin D. Everyone that's mid-north should take Vitamin D supplements (I take 1000-2000 IU a day) at least between October and March. Speaking of, vitamin D or no, we've had another stretch of gloriously sunny weather, warming up to close to 0C in the day so not too cold either, has been really nice to get out.

Good morning cafe. Dill that is a beautiful story of your dog bringing the cat to you. Animals are so smart! Got to the dentist yesterday and it was a cluster. Long story short. I rescheduled. This too shall pass as Dill says. Hope everyone has a great day. I am going to work on my Vitamin D today at the beach with my neighbor. No booze today! 24 more please and thank you.

We just had a sunny day too, and warm-ish (23F). I enjoyed it, as we’re heading into an extended cold snap starting today.

Also, for some reason I thought my 3x/wk. red light therapy treatments in the red bed were making up for lack of strong sunlight. Doh! Wrong wavelengths!

Spent some time with Daughter 2 and little grandson yesterday, folding their laundry & trying to be a bit helpful. Daughter was very under the weather on her day off.

Thankful that the full moon is today, so I can get to the other side of it and have better energy soon! 24 more for me.

Slo, Too many clouds to be able to view that full moon! Too bad. I do love to see that big, bright, beautiful moon! Looks like we're in for another bout of deep cold. Can't wait for Spring!

Rava, sorry your dental appointment went south!

Mul, I take Vitamin D daily too because it helps with the absorption of the calcium supplement my doc suggested.

Waves to you, Cowboy, Ginger, and Jude.

We have a Syrian Refugee family here in Veg that was sponsored by the United Church where Bubba works. They have been here 3 months and finally got their PR documentation. We have become quite good friends with them and their 2 children helping them adapt to life in Canada. They went and got their Learner's License a week ago and I've been riding along with them the past week getting ready for their Driver's License Road test which they take today. Hopefully at least one of them will pass and gain a bit more independence rather than always having to depend on someone else to drive them to wherever they need going.

In other news, we found out last weekend that our oldest daughter in Vancouver and her guy of 18 years are splitting up and she's moving back to Vermilion to live with her mom. She said she would explain the whole situation to me once she gets here this coming weekend and gets settled in. She did say that at 47 she didn't feel like she wanted to start all over again in a new place by herself. I guess I'll know more in the coming days/weeks.

Speaking of the full moon, a friend here has become quite the photographer in retirement. He now sells them! I have several of the back home.

Thanks for the full moon shot Ginger, pretty cool!

Cowboy, that's a shame about your daughter breaking up with her long-time boyfriend. At least they aren't married, which would definitely complicate things. It's so nice that you are helping your Syrian friends adapt to living in a new country.

Here in this part of N.Y. we are famous for cloudy weather, and my Vitamin D levels were quite low. I have to take 10, 000 iu every day to keep my vitamin D levels in the normal range.

The winds are howling outside, and so far the top speed has been 45 mph. Yowza, I think that "Toto" just flew by the window.

I'm in for another 24 hours of serenity.
