I am very worried about this condo selling. A showing just occurred; if they aren’t interested then I need to pull out -if the seller of the other condo will gracefully let me out without expecting the exorbitant amount of earnest money that she requires. The market has cooled quite a bit around here.

I went over to D2’s house last night to hang out with son-in-law’s visiting family. It was comforting, and lots of good food. I hate being alone.

D3 and D4 both called today! D4 is having a marvelous time in Europe! So far they have done Amsterdam and Paris, and they will be leaving for Switzerland tomorrow.

Sounds like a perfect time with the grandsons, Rava.

Nice elephant, Ginger! I agree that Washington is an amazing state.

Still a massive heat wave here.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Hi folks. So Costa Rica. We went back to Rythmia (our second trip) to support a friend who was presenting a weeklong program there. We attended four plant medicine ceremonies which elicited many spiritual insights and some healing of unresolved issues. The Christ consciousness was very much with us, et al. My wife did have a negative issue during the second night, which was quite frightening at first. Fortunately, this resolved on the fourth night (all nighter) and she is willing to go back with me sometime in early 2026. If anyone is interested and wants to discuss in more detail please PM me. Blessings x

The dog runs everywhere even though I might caution her about the ticks being in the high grass. She simply doesn't care

Mul, we have ticks here, east of the Cascades. On the west side hardly any due to all the rain. Everyone, if you've never been to Washington state, you should. It's such a diverse state and an outdoorsman (or woman) paradise! We've got about everything, from mountains to desert to ocean! That sounded like a vistor center commercial.
Ah ya that makes sense then.
You could say the same about BC, I think they're fairly similar. I have been to Wash a bit throughout the years, but outdoorsy stuff have more explored the coast area (some of the Islands and beautifual Wash/Oregon coast)... except for Sasquatch Music Festival at the Gorge which is certainly some beautiful Canyon country!

Jude, I know the feeling of having a hard time getting engaged and motivated. Hoping you feel better soon.

Ginger, Mr. D has had those magnifiers since prehistoric times and doesn't recall where he bought them. But here is a link to one on Amazon that will give you an idea what I am talking about and also an idea what search terms might help you in your quest. Amazon.com: Headband Magnifier, Professional Double Lens Head-Mounted Loupe Jewelry Magnifier, Reading Visor Opitcal Glass Binocular Magnifier with Lens Magnification-1.5X 2X 2.5X 3.5X for Repair, Crafts : Health & Household They might help you in your jewelry work. Mr. D uses his often for working on his electronic boards. I love the elephant head!

It is blazing hot here! Ugh.

Do you mind if I ask what happened with your dog Jude, you don't have to answer if it's too much for you to share.

Sounds like an interesting week techie, plant based medicine has been around for a long time.

Loved the elephant wall-hanging Ginger, I think the eyes look just fine.

Don't give up on your condo selling just yet Slo, it could sell at any time. Maybe you could get an extension on the closing date for the new condo?

Sounds like you had a great time with the g-kids Rava, it m6st be nice having them close to you now.

What kind of electronic boards does Mr D work on dill? Adam's new job is testing and repairing printed circuit boards.

Waves to Mulburry, sounds like you spend lots of time out hiking and such.

Slo, I'm not recalling what state you're in but can't you purchase contingent on yours selling? Most offers are written that way around here. Just curious.

Mul, I think BC is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. Was that festival at the Gorge Amphitheater? If so, isn't that an incredible venue? I've enjoy a few concerts there.

Jude, I feel your pain and I'm hoping today brings you a little peace.

Thanks for the link, Dill! I'll go check them out.

Techie, I'd definitely like to hear more about your trip to Costa Rica. My son and dil leave on 7/10 for CR. They are house shopping. They've visited many times and have decided that's where they want to retire some day.

ABC, how are you adjusting to your new chompers? Do you notice any loss in taste when eating? Again, curious.

The two year old's party was a success! Tons of kids. It was held at my son's home. His wife is literally the perfect host, wife, mom, gmom. I'm always in awe of her. Their place is perfect for a kid's party. Pool, trampoline, sandbox, etc. My sisters and I are taking the littles out today to hang there for the afternoon. There's going to be three tired old ladies tonight! Lol

I finished the monkey! I'll take another day of productive freedom!

Ya it sure is, hard to beat for an outdoor concert venue. I'd always wanted to see a show there, and finally did for Sasquatch in my late 20's! (I just googled it and apparently the festival was cancelled in 2018, a shame).

Enjoy another AF free 24 hours everyone!

Good morning Cafe. I just realized I forgot to post yesterday. Jude, I hope today brings you more joy and that you are ok. This morning I woke up feeling remorse and shame until my brain kicked in and reminded me that I had NOT had a night of booze. I immediately felt relived and so much better. If that isn’t telling how much better you feel without booze. Jeeze, not drinking obviously makes me happier. Ginger, I like your elephant and monkey. You are very talented. We are having a heat wave here much like a summer in Florida weather. It was 86 last night when I went to bed. UGH. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. 24 more for me please and thank you.

Ginger, that monkey head is precious! What a wonderful gift!

Mul and Ginger, I would love to visit the great northwest. You are both so lucky to live there. Closest I ever got to seeing it was a family trip we took in the 90's when we flew out to California. We stayed in San Diego and made our way northward ending the trip at Yosemite. It was a wonderful trip. Universal Studios, Cannery Row, driving up the coastal highway, San Franciso, street cars, Alcatraz,...such great memories! But camping in Yosemite was the best part to me.

Another hot one today. 24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Cross post, Rava. I hear you about the drinking dream. What a nightmare, actually. The relief you felt must have been a real relief!

                            Good morning cafe!

Cowboy, my dog had been having quite a lot of trouble getting around and one day she couldn't get up at all. She also had other issues, which is no surprise considering she was fourteen years old. It was the same thing with the other dog that we had to put down, he was fourteen as well. I have one dog left, and he's also having problems getting around. He is my favorite and follows me all over the house, but I know that he doesn't have much time left, so I try to spend as much time as possible with him. Sometimes it's just overwhelming...

                            Twenty four more please...

That's too bad about your dog Jude, but old age is a good reason if any, he/she had a long happy life anyway.

The monkey is adorable as well Ginger, how long does it take to make those? I'm getting used to my new teeth quite well. There is still a bit of discomfort if I bite down hard on something on the left side, but the dentist told me that it could take up to 3 months for the gums to heal completely. Haven't noticed any lack of taste yet, maybe because they're not full dentures?

Some of you are experiencing heat waves and we had frost overnight! Not a hard frost but there's white patches on some of the neighbor's roofs this morning. I don't think Bubba's flowers will be affected as most of them are close to the house and somewhat protected.

Waves to the rest of the gang!
