And some breakfast to go along with dill's coffee...

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

I agree with y'all on the drug issue, always try natural remedies first, but often drugs are needed in lots of cases. I just don't like the fact that it's the easiest remedy for many people.

Wow, that's a huge weight loss Mulburry, I'll bet you feel so much better at your new weight.

It would be fantastic if we could all get together but at least we have each other in our virtual world!

Would be nice to see Slo check in and let us know how she's doing...

Mul, I'm with the others, I think this is the first I've heard of your weight loss. That's fantastic and takes so much discipline. Great job!

I had a Dr tell me once, they prescribe because people don't have the discipline to change their habits. Mul, you'd prove her wrong!

My cholesterol is 247 (ratios are good) and my Dr started me on resuvastatin. After 2 wks I was aching more than normal so I tapered off. You guys that know me, know that I'm a clean eater and exercise regularly so the only lifestyle change left was drinking. I haven't had a drink in over a year. After my last blood test my cholesterol is the same. I'd love to get your thoughts on this? Anyone?

Rava, how are you doing this morning? ABC, have you enjoyed your break? Thanks for breakfast!

Jude, I find the picture posting a little finicky too. I didn't check Facebook to see if you posted there. Maybe I should check!

Dill, it would be fun to get together for coffee and chatting but this is probably the best we can muster. I'll take it! You guys are the best and I'll join you all in another day of freedom!

Good evening cafe. I am late to post because our active night with 3 active boys was exhausting. Thank goodness they slept until 830 am and I did too. We crabbed, painted rocks, rode the golf cart, colored, etc etc. Every bone in my body ached last night. Great memories but nothing like 3 active boys to make you feel your age! Mul, congrats on the huge weight loss. That must have been hard but I bet you have formed better lifestyle habits and are so much healthier for it! Dill I absolutely feel so much better without alcohol. I don’t always sleep well but overall I feel much healthier without the booze. We are planning another family bbq next weekend and I will be prepared for it. No sneaky thoughts of drinking. I will refer back to my awful existence after the last time. Ginger, don’t forget elevated cholesterol can be hereditary. So no matter how clean you eat there are some things you just cant fix. Cowboy sorry I missed breakfast. It looked amazing! Hope everyone has a great Sunday. It’s rainy here. 24 more please and thank you.

Ginger, Rava's right in that high cholesterol can be hereditary. If the side effects are bothering you, there are plenty of other medications out there for cholesterol if the current ones don't work for you.

I have to go to the shelter today for my volunteer job. I'm having second thoughts about volunteering there as it's both physically and emotionally draining. I know that I would feel terribly guilty if I quit, so I'm not sure what to do.

Peaches is doing well, but is still quite shy. I was looking at her yesterday and was amazed by her coat pattern. She's got a little bit of every color throughout her body. She kind of looks like a quilt that was made by a blind woman.

24 more for all of us please...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!

I'm on the same medication for cholesterol Ginger, mind you it's a very small dosage. I did experience some mild cramping in my feet when I first started on it but it went away fairly quickly. The Doc told me that was a common side effect and if it got too bad he would prescribe something different.

I've always said Jude that if I didn't enjoy doing something that I would quit. But I also know it's hard to quit on something if you've made a commitment. It is a volunteer job, so if it's bothering you, you might have to give it up.

It doesn't take 3 active boys to make me feel my age Rava, I can do that all on my own lol. But I imagine keeping up with them wouldn't be easy. I'll bet they loved the time with you though.

I bet we'll probably cross post dill lol.

It was a nice break but it's back to the fields for me today.

My previous post is flagged, not sure why. I'll check back later and see if it is deleted.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Good morning Cafe. Jude, if it was me, I would find another volunteer job. As a volunteer you are giving your time to something that you love. If you are not loving the time you spend there you should not feel guilty. They will simply find someone else. Unfortunately we are all easily replaced. Hard fact but truth. I love the thrift store because it’s mindless fun and nice people. I am sure you will eventually find the right fit. Hope everyone has a good and sober day. 24 more please and thank you!

Jude, I agree with everyone else. We are retired. It's time for you. Doing something that steals your joy should be off the table. Sit down with the director and tell her that. Ill bet she will completely understand.

Rava, I'm dead after 3 hours with a two and four yo. Im not sure how you do it but those will be good memories for all of you.

Dill, that's curious about your post. Let admin know.

ABC, back to the fields. It's almost wrapped up though, right?

My grandma had really high cholesterol and was tiny and ate like a bird so I'm sure that mine is hereditary. I have an appointment to discuss other meds soon. A few years back, I had a wonderful naturopath that said he rarely put women on cholesterol meds and liked to see older women around 240. His theory (if I'm recalling correctly) was the meds lowered the numbers but did very little to change your risks as we get older. He recommended reading The Cholesterol Myth. I'd have to reread to recall the premise. So you see, I've got that stuck in my brain. Lol

Headed to a BBQ a couple hours away. The smoke has lifted so it should be a nice drive. I'll take another day of freedom!
