Dill, I get injections every 6 months with a drug called Prolia. I've been on it for a couple of years with zero side effects. My last bone scan showed improvement so I'm going to stick with it.

Cowboy, I can understand the confusion about circular needles. It's basically 2 needles connected with a thin plastic wire which allows you to have a lot more stitches than would fit on regular needles. I use them to make blankets which requires a long row of stitches. When I get to the end of a row I turn the blanket and start a new row. If I didn't do that and continued knitting then yes I would end up with a tube shaped project which wouldn't make a very good blanket.

Rava, your new phone takes awesome pictures. The alligator looks like it was right in front of which I'm sure it wasn't!

Ginger, I hope that you will be able to get in a workout on Monday but don't over do it. Did your Dr say it was ok to start exercising?

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!

Thanks for the explanation Jude, that makes a bit more sense now. And it also helped that I Googled it lol.

I would think they'd want you to exercise the new knee Ginger, as long as you don't overdo it.

Don't think I've ever had my bone density checked dill but I do get lots of exercise as I can't just sit around all day,

          Waves to Rava and Mulburry!

And speaking of exercise, I'll be getting more of that this morning shoveling snow lol.

          Have a great day y'all!

ABC, you sure get a lot of winter exercise. Lol Be careful out there! Pancakes! My favorite

Jude, my Dr said for Medicare to approve the injections, first I had to try fosmax and have side effects. He did allude that I could just "say" I had side effects and he'd recommend the injections. Hmmmm Not sure how I feel about that.

Dill, I loved your post. It wasn't too long at all.

Exercise here is more like chair yoga, very chill. Its that overall stretching I'm looking for. The PA said I'm OK to go but save some energy for PT. Tomorrow, I get rid of the medical bike in the middle of my tiny living room. It was a godsend in the first few weeks but I'm able to ride our stationary bike now so I no longer need it. It will be nice to have that space open again! This has been quite a journey.

Rava, hope you're all settled in, gators and all. ;•) HI Mul

I'll take another day of freedom!

              Greetings everyone!

Jude, thanks for telling me about your medication. I'll look into it and if my doc recommends a pharmaceutical, I'll have a bit more to go on. Of course I'm hoping she will recommend some lifestyle and nutritional changes as a first step. We shall see.

Ginger, you're making grand progress! Glad you can send off the medical bike and reclaim some open ground!

Rava I asked Mr. D what kind of phone he got recently and he said he got the exact same type as you and Mr. R got. He loves his. He showed me a feature on his that I will find very useful if I get the same version. It is a zoom feature in the camera. It's incredible!

Cowboy, I don't think bone density is as big an issue in general with men as it is with women. Thanks for that awesome breakfast! One of my favorites. I was wondering...I went out of our little bubble here yesterday to look and see what other threads are still around....I didn't see anyone apart from a greeting from Lavande at Christmas time and some folks that check in and post their #of days with you. So....are we all that are left here? It was kind of spooky out there.

Lavande, if you read here, sorry I didn't respond to your Holiday Greeting! I didn't see it until yesterday.

              Not today.

              Dill

Good morning cafe! Who wants to join me in another 24 hours of freedom?

Good morning Cafe. I am here to report that i screwed up yesterday. Today is a new day and I am starting off at the gym and working on getting my act together. I have to remember that I am choosing to not drink and make that a priority. I can NOT moderate and I can NOT drink just 1. I need to keep moving towards more accountability and a healthier new year. Just because I hate myself today doesnt mean I will feel the same way tomorrow. 24 more please!

                      I'll definitely join you Jude!

The important thing is that you keep coming back Rava, you've got this!

I'm pretty careful when I'm doing any physical activity Ginger, don't need to be slipping and falling or breaking any bones lol.

It does seem like our group is the last one here dill, except for the odd person that checks back in from time to time. Sad to see so many leave...

Off to the farm today to check on things then over to a neighbor's to see why one of his electrical breakers keeps tripping, it's for one row of lights in his shop so I'm thinking a ballast burnt out and is causing a dead short.

ABC, I bet you're right. Do you think that breaker will be weak now? I've had a few wear out from tripping, years ago. Your neighbor is lucky to have you!

Rava, I agree with ABC. Keep coming back! We need you here.

Dill, do you need a new phone? Sounds like those iPhones are pretty cool. I've never had iPhones. I'm a Samsung android girl over here but I do like the bells and whistles of the iPhones!

Jude, I'll join you in another day of freedom!

Greetings all! I'll gladly join you for another 24, Jude!

Ginger, I do need a new phone in the near future. I dread going through the process though! I have an older iPhone. It's an XS Max which came out in 2018. It works fine still but the battery is not staying charged very well. I do like the iPhones though. They are really well designed, IMO. I will probably stay with iPhone when I get a new phone because I don't want to have to learn a different device at this point!

Cowboy, I just feel like I should have known the other threads were shutting down. I have been in my own lane for so long, I just didn't see it. I am going to just imagine everyone has continued on doing well and no longer were served by checking in. I'm just not quite ready to say farewell!

Rava, you're here and that's what matters!

Well, now that the holidays are over I am going to have to start cutting back on the sweets. I did better than usual this year, but I still put on a few pounds.

                          Not today.

Been a bit, so just checking in. Hope everyone had a great AF New Years!
We had a great NY eve, with friend of mine who I hadn't seen in a few years, staying the night (on his way to flying out of Vancouver the next day). He also doesn't drink (never has) so it made for an easy evening, just hanging around catching up. Then had my mom's friend over on NY day, and some other friends stop by on the way through the day after. So a busy but fun few days.

P.S. Love the croc pics Rava!

Rava, don't hate yourself because you slipped. You came back and that's what matters!

That's really sad that the cafe is the only active forum on this site and that we haven't had any new members in quite awhile.

Ginger, I'm with you on having an android phone. It's all that I've ever had and have never had any problems with it.

Good morning Cafe. Yes I am back and feel more normal this morning. That beast gets ahold of me and hijacks my brain. I have to stay ahead of it and not be so quick to let my guard down. I am definitely not ready to say farewell to this group. You guys have helped me so much. Even tho I screw up more than most, I keep coming back because I don’t want to be that other Rava. The one I despise. I like the new update on this app. Looks sharp! OK I am off to my volunteer job and ready to tackle another day. 24 more and thanks again for all the support!
