Molls, let me know how you get on with the airfryer. A gadget I don't have, but with 5 of us here, I get the impression the are for smaller families?. I can't keep food in this house.. bottomless pigs. The day after a big shop (where I've rearranged the large fridge for maximum space, stuffing it with food so I'm forcing the door closed), there's likely nothing left! Ffs.

Tabbers, I think you know what to do and the very best of luck! It will be a very exciting time on so many levels.

His sister once again went up again and read their Mum the riot act. They both need a care home but MIL is being very stubborn. They've got massive house with a huge garden and just can't cope.
My SIL can be proper scary:egad:

Does MIL speak for them both ?
Does anyone have POA for them ?
POA needs to be enacted I'd say. It's the only way to keep them safe.

Don't be surprised Jacks if the hospital won't let him out of hospital 'cos he has only MIL living with him. That what happens here.

I see very frail people get admitted but within weeks of being fed & cared for and have company all day. most of them start to thrive. Others not so much and just won't settle.
My mother is a good example. The consultant said we'd be lucky if she made it thru that winter - that was 4 years ago.
Then again some would argue we are keeping people alive longer than they would if nature was allowed take its course - but at the cost of quality of life.

Late for parade..........
The saga of the in-laws goes on. Mr JC visited his dad yesterday evening and he was chirpy, although he didn't have a clue why he was in hospital. His sister once again went up again and read their Mum the riot act. They both need a care home but MIL is being very stubborn. They've got massive house with a huge garden and just can't cope.

Afternoon everyone

Miserable day here too. Sometimes we need a duvet day Brit and look how it motivated you. I am in decluttering mode at the moment. Have thrown out loads and actually got a lot done outside yesterday. Picking up some lamps, rug and picture on Wednesday for the spare room. Bought the bed frame and lockers online and delighted with them so decided to do the same for the other bits I needed. Hopefully I’ll like them but can always return.

Work today so just checking in on my lunch hour. Catch up later.

Good morning everyone. Miserable day here.
Spent the day yesterday on the couch in front of the fire.

Decided this morning (or last night when going to bed) to get up early and get loads of stuff sorted.

Feel much better for it now at 11. 15 am. Off to a Pilates class and signed up for a 5k race tomorrow.

Molls I'm not sure I agree with that idea or even if Aiseiri still do.
Afterall YS & others, on their advice , totally changed their lives when they went to live in Waterford.

My slant on that would be that if you go back to exactly the same lifestyle the same triggers will be there. Add to that the stress of no job or a job you hate because you a hopefully a new person that is thinking more clearly.
Doesn't bode well for your sobriety.

No that's not the meaning...you need to work 100% on yourself..that's the meaning...obviously you don't maintain habits or 'friends ' that brought trouble in the past...the thought is thar for instance adding a new serious relationship or move countries just for the sake of change ..that sort of thing..that can distract from the work on yourself it makes total sense to me anyway!

ah @jackieclaire, doesn't sound like you inlaws have much of a choice any more, maybe this will help them change their minds. Very distressing time for them.

I need a few new injections of recipes, thanks for the inspiration molly. Love my old slow cooker, but half the time i forget in the morning and then end up using the pressure cooker for an emergency dinner.
We got a camile take away this evening.

Molly I wouldn’t have considered your point regarding making big changes. Thankfully I would have to say with every ounce of my being that I have no concerns there. I am learning to cope with the stresses and strains of life by facing up to emotions and feelings head on like an adult and using other strategies rather than hiding away at the end of a bottle. It’s a work in progress and I know complacency can be a window to letting that devious ba***rd back in but hand on heart I can never envisage a day when I go backwards to that horrible existence again.

Oh thank goodness they are seeing sense..tbh if I was at the stage of needing nappies I'd be booking myself into a home...let professionals deal with all that!
The belly pork was so good Mary...crisped the crispy bit under the grill...I see Aldi have a double basket air fryer next week...think I'll get it..I've more work tops in this kit hen so would have room for it.

In the bed now with I'm a celebrity...dunno who half of them are...like wtf is June Scott?
