    Evening all,

Rough day at work, meeting filled with grown adults acting like children, I get the joy of listening back to the recording to minute it next week, took a bunch of notes so i wouldn't have to listen to as much of it back but I'm not looking forward to it. Glad its a day of studying tomorrow.

    Greetings Nesters,

Good day to get lots of running around done, tomorrow is a rain day. I’m happy walking around the large backyard & finding things beginning to bloom already. It’s early but it’s color & I miss the color all winter.

Battle, being busy can be good & a big help distracting you from substances. Hope it all goes well!

Wags, that Medicare age just sneaks up on you, scary haha! With the guidance from my husband’s employer we went with regular old medicare but they are providing us with a Blue Cross supplement policy for the rets of our lives. He retired with a very good contract . Talking to an agent can be very helpful. Tomorrow is Friday, yay!

NS, maybe your employer has some words of wisdom re supplement insurance.
I will be eternally grateful for my grandson, his arrival was exactly what I needed to finally pull my head out of my a$$!!!

Hello to all & wishing everyone a safe night in the nest!

I was a state employee so for this first year at least, I'm going to go with their program with Aetna, Wags. We'll be able to keep our current physicians so that is a deciding factor. I have no idea what to do about all the supplements, etc.!!

14 years is pretty impressive, Lav. I'm glad your grandson came along to inspire you!

Hang in there, Battle. You're DOING IT!!

NS - my wife just applied for Medicare too! I'm several years away from eligibility but I've been helping her navigate the choices/options. Did you pick a particular plan? We decided to work with an agent and get some guidance, and that has been pretty time well spent (no $ cost). Your upcoming 3 days (with bonus of grandson overnights) sound fun!

Lav - def have been busy, but fortunately making headway and getting some things checked of ye olde liste Hope all is well with you.

Battle - good to see you

    Hellos and waves everyone!

    Good evening Nesters,

We had some sun & a high of 51 degrees today ~ almost Spring

Wags, time flies when you’re busy, right? Don’t think you have actually missed too much, the nest has been fairly quiet. Good to see you!

Battle, yay for your 2 weeks AF :welldone:
    Hang in there!

NS, it is amazing to spend time alone & never consider AL!
I quit completely soon after my first grandson was born. He’s turned 14 already so my 14th AF anniversary is later this month. Feels good
Enjoy the time with your grandsons!

Hello to all & wishing everyone a safe night in the nest!

    Re: Newbies Nest

    Congratulations, Battle!

Yes, Wags, it is a great feeling. I'll be on my own again for 3 days beginning tomorrow and invited each of my local grandsons to spend the night one of the nights. I love being with them individually. I NEVER would have offered to give up my solo time if I were still drinking and it just makes me shudder to think of all I would have missed.

Well, my task this morning is to apply for Medicare :egad:. How on earth did this happen??

Yikes, somehow I lost a few days of posting. I'll have to read back to catch up fully.

Battle - congrats on your 2 weeks AF, but sorry to hear you're in so much pain.

Lav - have fun chicken sitting! Seems like most of the country except for your area got snow recently.

NS - sounds like a good solo weekend. I used to scheme drinking binges any time I had even a day solo and am now always so proud that I don't even consider such shenanigans. It feels so good to use solo time productively (and to remember it later!) doesn't it?

hellos and waves everybody. Happy hump days to all!

    Greetings Nesters,

Hope everyone is busy & doing well

Battle, my Mom used to tell us ‘you can get used to anything, even hanging if you have too. Frightening advice we got as kids Lol
Glad you are managing the best you can right now. Hang in there.

Wishing everyone a safe night in the nest!

    Evening all,

Still working hard, still with one arm. Feeling kind of down about the whole thing, between the pain, being half asleep on painkillers, feel like I can't get anything done. Going to try cutting back on them tomorrow, see if I can work through pain, at least I'll be productive.

Lav - I actually had a whole year where only one arm worked so I'm pretty skilled already, rusty now but quick to adjust.

    Greetings Nesters,

Getting a bit if the predicted rain now, better than snow!

Battle, so happy to hear you are able to function well enough just using one hand. This will be something you’ll remember for a long time to come

NS, our Goldens were always so hairy, haha. The Swiss Mountain dog was exceptionally hairy with her double coats. At least dogs don’t smell half as bad when wet than chickens do, phewww!!
Good to hear you got out for a hike, sounds nice.

I hope some others check in this week, haven’t heard from quite a few for a while. Wishing everyone a safe night in the nest!

Typing with one hand is tough, Battle! I hope your pain resolves soon so that your work it easier. I'm terrible at typing on my phone so I dictate but boy, Siri really messes up what I say sometimes!!

I was home alone for the weekend and so aware of how happy and relieved I was not to be worried that I would drink and lose all that time of solitude that I really enjoy. I worked on some projects, went for a hike (with daughter and grandson - I wasn't a complete hermit!), ate blueberries and cream for 2 dinners, and went to bed early!

Lav, I was happy to miss out on the snow but this up and down with the temperature is weird. Today is spring-like but hard to get out and enjoy b/c of the rain. Oh well, weather certainly is one of those things over which we have no control and so is not worth our worry.

Ava, you must be a true dog whisperer. I think taking care of 1 is a lot of work! I brushed a small dog's worth of fur out of our Golden yesterday. She looked beautiful for about 15 hours but we just walked in the rain and now her fur is curly, kinky, and scraggly. I'm actually not in to 'perfect dogs' so it is ok with me but she really did look nice for a bit.

Same old same old today, put in 20+ days on my project last couple of days, frustrating typing with one hand but can read and work on data, still enjoying it even under trying circumstances.

    Sunday evening greetings Nesters,

Hope everyone is doing as OK as possible.
Still no snow here but I’m not really complaining. Likely to get a spot of rain tomorrow. I’m all set for my chicken sitting later this week while my neighbor goes to FL. It’s nice to be able to help out when needed

Hello to all & wishing everyone a safe night in the nest.
