Ginger, my gf had a visit the second half of June from her daughter and granddaughter who flew in from the Eugene, OR area. The poor little gdaughter was sick for the entire visit! She arrived with a cough and low-grade fever and was lethargic. A trip to the ER tested for the usual suspects but nothing beyond an ear infection was found so she was put on amoxicillin and cough suppressant. She improved but only somewhat. When they went back home this week, they went to her regular doctor who explained that she had pneumonia and that there has been bug going around out in their area affecting lots of children. The doctor in our area didn't have that info, so maybe missed the diagnosis. So, make sure you stay on top of whatever it is you have going. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Cowboy for another excellent breakfast!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.
    Dill

Good Monday morning Cafe. Slo, looking forward to hearing how your showing went. Ginger, blue crabs are good eating but they are definitely messy. We eat them right on newspaper. Thats a tradition in our parts of the neighborhood. LOL. Dill your poor friends granddaughter had a rough visit for sure. Glad her doctor was able to diagnose her and treat her appropriately. Hope everyone has a good and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Dill, that's terrible about the wee one. I hope she's on the mend now that she's home and properly diagnosed! I'm scheduled to have hand surgery Wednesday so I'm hoping I'm well enough to move forward with that. I'll not get another appt before we head south the way things are around here! Fingers crossed.

I've never had blue crab, Rava. We only have Dungeness and King available around here and if you can't catch them yourself, you are looking at $25 a pound for a whole crab that ways approximately 2-3 lbs. The average Dungeness yields about 1/2 lbs of meat. Do the math on that! Lol

Slo, any news on the condo? Are you tired from your weekend?

ABC, do you have any side jobs coming up besides Adam's cabin? Just wondering how a busy guy like you is spending his time

Jude, hoping each day is getting easier for you. Thinking of you.

Mul, enjoy your brother's visit. Are you two close? Is he your only sibling? I'm jealous of your hiking!

Techie, do you guys have another trip in the works? Do you guys blogg about your adventures? Sounds like there'd be an interest in that.

We had a quiet weekend. Those don't happen often! I'll take another day.

They didn’t like my condo, so didn’t want to write an offer.

The little family drove away an hour ago. All of the kids & grandkids are spending the next week up north with each other and ex-HB and his gf. Ouch. I sure enjoyed having the time with my visitors!

My foot is in bad shape. Off to meet with a shoe specialist to try to get a good orthopedic shoe to have altered. I start PT tomorrow.

          Gotta go, but more later.

Slo, sorry that the condo showing didn't go well, but there is a buyer for your place out there somewhere.

Hot and muggy again today, but it is July 1st after all.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful, booze free day!

Good morning Cafe. Can’t believe we are already in July. Where has the time gone? Slo, I am sorry that the condo viewing didnt work out. Real estate right now seems like it has really slowed down. Our condo value in Florida has dropped to much lower than what we paid for it. Makes me sick. We have no plans of selling any time soon so hopefully it will increase in value. I am too old to play these games so we shall see how it works out. Our tiny house is holding its value. I guess it depends on where you live. Florida was hit so hard with hurricanes that insurance has tripled making buying and insuring almost unaffordable. I have now been booze free for over 2 weeks and I keep reminding myself how good I feel mentally. Such a huge difference, not thinking about drinking or regret after drinking. We will NEVER regret not drinking. Must remind myself of that. Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday. 24 more please and thank you!

5:24am in Alberta, another 24 for me please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:

Great job on 2 weeks Rava! Keep up the good work! And you're right, we'll never regret not drinking.

Too bad on the condo showing Slo, try to stay positive and wait for the right buyer to come along.

It's going to be hot here as well for the next few days Jude, thankfully we don't have much humidity along with it.

Hopefully the little one got over her illness without anything serious happening dill. Pneumonia isn't something to take lightly.

Good luck with the surgery tomorrow Ginger, hope all goes well. I do have a few jobs to do this summer, nothing big, just jobs that last a day or two. And there's always people calling for small service jobs that need doing. It gets me out of the house a few days a week anyway lol.

Rava, that's great that you are two weeks away from that slip and are focusing on the positives. It really is amazing what a gift it is to be alcohol free, and we can give that gift to ourselves each and every day! You know, I don't think I have ever eaten crab. Closest I came is the "imitation crab". I like it well enough though that I bet I'd enjoy the real thing.

Ginger, that math on the crab in your area is "too much"! I wouldn't even consider it. I hope your surgery goes well tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

Sorry your foot is giving you fits, Slo. I hope the orthotics can help.

Jude, the rain and mugginess continue here as well. I hope we get a break for the 4th of July!

Cowboy, I bet you could be busy every day if you wanted to. A good handyman is hard to come by, and I bet you are in demand!

Mul, enjoy your brother's visit. Will he be there long?

                    Waves to you Techie.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

I think you’re right, Rava, that this is a bad time to sell now. Darn it.

Mul, nice that you are having time both your brother and your mother.

I sure enjoy summertime, when I can bike (since I can’t take walks) and get plenty of sunshine. And sit on the back patio!

I’m in a really bad phase of the vitamin B6 withdrawal, with tons of nerve pain, fatigue, anxiety through the roof, badly thinning hair with much scalp showing now, tight calf muscles, and super painful foot.

Turns out the podiatrist is out of network, and, “they [insurance] don’t cover that kind of treatment” anyways. They don’t cover an x-ray and a cortisone shot??
I pay $1000 a month for insurance, but it doesn’t cover anything!
Turns out the physical therapy is out of network too, so I won’t have that today.
I bought supportive shoes yesterday, and with help from the owner and recommendations from the pedorthist. I got the shoe to the pedorthist for modification of the sole.

I did enjoy the visit and the company of my daughter and her family so much! I cried when they left.

Good luck on the hand surgery today, Ginger!

Ginger, hope that your hand surgery goes well today. Did the doc say how long the recovery time would be?

Rava, congrats on being two weeks free of the booze. Life is so much better without it!

                        Twenty four more please...

My dot painting projects arrived last week, and I got started on the dragon fly (like yours, Ginger). I found it to be fun and easy to do. Of course, I had the magnifiers to reduce eye strain, and the backlight that you suggested, Rava, as well. I only did part of it because I wanted to introduce the activity to my granddaughter. I got her started and away she went! She enjoyed the activity too! So, thank you Ginger for that suggestion. It was a great activity for a rainy day, of which we have had more than our share lately!

Hope the surgery goes well, Ginger.

Slo, I wonder if you should be looking for a different insurance company! How frustrating.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good morning Cafe. We are traveling 2 hours to see some grands for the day then traveling back later this evening. Long day on the road but we like to be in our own beds at night. Ginger, good luck today . Hope all goes well with the surgery! Dill so glad your granddaughter liked the diamond painting. It’s so fun and easy to do. Thats why I like it as well. Slo, I would call my insurance company and see what docs and therapy are in network. They could probably sent you a list by mail or email. Then work from there. Insurance rules and regulations are horrible and frustrating. I hope you get it figured out. Cowboy, I agree with Dill that everyone needs a handyman. You are probably in demand. Thats what my late husband used to do and he always had work. People love it when you bid a job and actually show up on time and get it done. Hi to Jude, Mul and Techie. Hope everyone has a great day. 24 more please and thank you.
