I talked with the volunteer coordinator at the shelter yesterday and I'm going in on Sunday morning to train. Looking forward to it and hoping that it works out.

We have some blackberry bushes on the property but not enough to make jam. Our peach tree is loaded with fruit so there will be lots of jam making this Fall.

I've been working on a diamond art kit that I got from Amazon and I love it! It's so relaxing and enjoyable that I'm going to order another one.

Who wants to join me in another twenty four hours of serenity?

    Comment

I will gladly join you in another twenty-four hours, Jude! It was a delight to read all your good news this morning. I'm sure your training will go well this Sunday, no doubt!

Mul, we have blackberries and they were loaded this year, but the deer love them as well as we do it appears. We are lucky to get a handful here and there!

Rava, "time for some quiet time" .....very classy way to make an exit.

Cowboy, we are well past raspberry time here and are currently in blackberry season, And yes, we do make raspberry and blackberry jams when we have a good crop.

      Waves to Ginger and Slo!

This is the weekend of the family reunion. My brother and his family arrive today, My daughter and her family arrive tomorrow. Saturday is the get-together. I'm prepared but nervous. I will be happy to see everyone though. Unfortunately the weather forecast is not good: 70% chance of rain. Ugh!

24 more for all here, please.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

5:17am in Alberta, I'll have another 72 hours please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!

That's not an excuse Rava, that was the truth! I like my quiet time as well.

That's great news on the volunteer job Jude! I'm sure it'll be something you enjoy.

I'm sure the reunion will be a great success dill, and as you said, it'll be nice to see everyone!

I don't think we have blackberries around here Mulburry, least not that I've seen or heard of. Bubba and I used to pick saskatoons by the gallons but we haven't done it for years now.

Adam and I are headed back to the lake after he gets off work tonight. We'll start work on the sheet metal work for the HRV system while waiting on the delivery of the insulation and drywall and the for the plumbing inspector to show up. So I'll see y'all Saturday morning!

Good morning Cafe. Jude, I am so excited for your volunteer job. I think you will love it and it takes your mind in different directions! Also the diamond painting is so much fun. I am actually teaching a class here at our community in a few weeks. We are all making bookmarks. I have not ordered the kits yet as I am waiting to see how many sign up. The fun part is that people of all ages can do it. I expect a few kids in the mix as well. Dill, praying that your reunion does NOT get rained out. It will be good to see your family again. Hi to cowboy, ginger, Slo and Mul. Wishing everyone a safe and sober day.

Jude, that's great news about your volunteer job! Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Rava, I like that reason. Thirty kids would definitely be a good reason for quiet time. Lol

Dill, hoping you don't get rained out! Do you have a backup plan, if you do? We have hubby's family reunion this weekend too. Together we made a plan!

ABC, hope everything goes well with the projects and inspection. With you on the job I bet it will. How goes the dentures? Are you adjusting to them? I have to go look up saskatoons.

Mul, where we are spending our two week vacation on the Washington coast, there are tons of wild black berries. We usually pick enough for one or two cobblers. So delicious!

Hi Slo, hope your visit is going great at D1's.

I'll take another day of freedom!

I feel like a prisoner in this body that doesn’t work right and this foot and ankle that are messed up and that I can’t hardly walk on. I am so scared. I can’t do the activities of daily living! And the future looks bleak.

I hope the reunion goes great, Dill, and the rain holds off for the most part. Fun that you have a family reunion too, Ginger!

Thankfully it is raining here. Otherwise I have to water my own grass and plantings, and I just can’t do it.

I enjoyed for the most part being with D1’s family. With pain & disability, I’m not much of a participatory grandma anymore though. Then the kids lose interest in me.
I canceled trying to get Huxley to school today. I just can’t do all that.

Wishing you all a good AF day.

Ya they grow like crazy near the coast! Here in Hope (where I'm at right now) there are still lot's too, it's a similar climate and there are tons near the river (I think they like bodies of water probably to access the more moist soil near by as they seem to thrive even during the dry summer).

                    Good morning all!

It's blueberry picking season here but Mr. J and I haven't had much time lately to go. Maybe we'll just pick some up at one of the local fruit and veggie stands.

Dill, hopefully the rain will hold off on Sunday. Do you have a tent or some other type of shelter if the weather doesn't cooperate?

Good luck with the cabin cowboy, is it nearly done?

It's supposed to be hot and muggy for the next several days. Never thought that I'd wish for rain but we really need it now. Everyone's lawn is starting to turn brown. Mr. J has been watering the garden which takes awhile as it's a big space, but it has to be done.

Waves to Ginger, Mul, Slo and Rava

                    Twenty four more please...

Have a great time with Adam at the cabin, Cowboy. It's so great that you two can work together on that.

Ginger, we haven't any grand plan for rain, just moving indoors and making do. Our house will be crowded but it's big enough to accommodate the number we'll have.

Rava, how great you have offered to teach a class! What fun!

Slo, I can only imagine the frustration and anxiety you are facing. Do what you can and ask for help as needed. ((hugs))

                      Hi Mul and Jude!

24 more for all of us here.

We didn't end up going as the lumber company didn't have the material to deliver as they are having issues with their suppliers. We didn't think there was enough other work to warrant Adam taking 2 days off work when he's short on holidays anyway. I also postponed the plumbing inspection as well. Not sure when we'll be headed back up there, guess it depends on material delivery.

There's still lots of work to do yet on the cabin Jude, we don't get in a lot of time even when we do get up there as we're there for such a short period.

That's fantastic that you'll be teaching a class Rava, keeps you busy when you're not with family.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate dill and you won't have to move the reunion indoors.

I've adjusted to the dentures pretty good now Ginger, but I'm going to see if they can make a small change to the bottom one. The 4 false front teeth seem to be too small and it makes me look like a vampire when I smile lol.

Is there no solution to all this pain you're having Slo, seems like there should be something they can do.

Since I didn't think I'd be home, I don't have much on my agenda today so a day or r & r for me.

There is no “they” to help me, as I can’t access the health care system. Insurance says the podiatrist is out-of-network for me; he says he’s in network, and keeps trying to work with the insurance company to prove it. I’m left at a standstill with a big bill. It’s the same with trying to get physical therapy: the insurance company tells them that they are in network for me, but tells me that they are out of network.

I am trying home foot exercises that I ordered off the Internet, and am icing and trying this mat that I ordered off the Internet that is supposed to stimulate blood flow to the foot. The crutches help enormously. I will try to get a scooter off of Facebook Marketplace.

Have a good R&R day, Cowboy, although I bet you’d rather be working with Adam if it had worked out.

Best wishes for a good AF day for each of you.

Slo, I sure hope you can get this taken care of soon. It's obvious from your posts, you're at your wits end. So sorry.

ABC, sounds like a good day to get some r&r but im sorry it didn't work out. What's the deal with the material delay?

Dill, I'm glad your house can accommodate but I hope the weather cooperates and you can enjoy the day outside.

Rava, you said your class was going to do bookmarks, right? Will you ask for a small donation to cover cost or will it be your treat?

Jude, do you pick the blueberries at a farm or do they grow wild?

Hey Mul, what's the weather like in Hope, where your Mom lives? Is it rainy? There's a guy that rents his goats to people that need to be rid of the invasive blackberry bushes. I guess the goats can knock them back in short order. Problem is, they come back but hey, it's good for the goat guy! Repeat customers

Off to my last knee pt. It's feeling pretty good. Hopeful! I'll take another day!
