Good morning Cafe. Slo, I hope you get some relief soon. So sorry that you are going thru so much crap trying to feel better. Our medical system is completely awful!!! Ginger I am doing the class thru my community so they each pay 5.00 to help cover the costs. I have actually spent a little more of my own money as the bookmark kits only come with 1 pencil and 1 tray. I bought a package of 20 and then I had to buy some sealant. Hoping it will be a fun activity. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Ginger and Dill hope those family reunions are fun with no rain. Enjoy your r and r cowboy. Hi to Jude and Mul. 24 more please and thank you!

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!

It sounds like they are having trouble getting drywall (not sure if that's what they call it down there) Ginger, and Adam said they didn't know for sure when they would get any.

I imagine you're getting pretty busy with all the company starting to arrive dill, enjoy your time with the family!

We had quite the thunder, lightning, and rainstorm through the night. Still cloudy and wet this morning so I'll probably get out of my date with the lawnmower until tomorrow lol.

Yep ABC, it's drywall here too. Has he thought about alternatives like paneling or breadboard. That's a cabin-y alternative.

The first night of the reunion went fine. No alcohol for me and hubby.

Waves to all! I'll take another day of freedom.

In the thick of it here now, but just wanted to check in and say it will be with you all in keeping another 24 hours.

Fingers crossed that rain doesn’t fall at inopportune times tomorrow, Dill!

Ginger, I am thankful that your HB is a non-drinker now, as that will help you to get through the reunion AF!

Yesterday I visited my daughter’s friend who babysits Huxley on Thursdays, and in the evening they invited me to accompany them (D2 and her friend, and their two small children) out for ice cream and to see a waterski show at the beach! A bit difficult on crutches, but they helped me.
So I got my social needs met that day!

I have resolution that the podiatrist is out of network, and the billing specialist was so helpful, and applied a bunch of discounts to reduce the bill drastically!
I made an appointment with a new podiatrist, and due to a cancellation, can get in on Tuesday already!
I am looking at a used knee scooter to purchase tomorrow.

              Happy AF weekend to all.

Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

I guess the goats can knock them back in short order. Problem is, they come back but hey, it's good for the goat guy! Repeat customers
Mostly hot and dry in the summer like everywhere else nowadays (haven't had more than a couple days of rain this month)... we did have a lovely more cloudy coolish day today though, made use of it by getting out to a trail that comes out to ridge above the lake.
That's hilarious about the goats; here I get annoyed when the township mows down nice blackberry bushes right when they're in season (can't they just wait a couple weeks) but I guess there are enough to go around, and yes they do grow back like crazy.

Good luck with your knee. And same for you with your foot Slo, hope the podiatrist helps!

Slo, that's great news about finding a podiatrist that's in network. Sometimes getting a second opinion is the best option and I really hope that you can get some relief from the pain.

Yesterday Mr. J and I went to a fifty mile garage sale but surprisingly we didn't bring anything home. That's a first.

Dill, you must be as busy as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I hope that the weather is good for the reunion tomorrow.

Cowboy, hope that you are able to get some drywall soon. As Ginger mentioned, can you find other alternatives to drywall?

Not sure what's on the agenda today but we shall see what the day brings.

Twenty four more for all of us please...

Good Saturday morning. Hoping those family reunions turn out great today for Dill and Ginger! Slo, your post was full of positivity. So glad things could be turning the corner. Good luck with the drywall issue Cowboy. I like the breadboard suggestion as a back up. Our tiny house is drywalled which we love. Some of them are older type modular home/trailers with no drywall. It makes a huge difference! Hi to Mul and Jude! Hope everyone has a good day. We have no plans today. No drinking or activities that tempt me planned. 24 more please and thank you.

That's great news about the podiatrist Slo and glad you were able to get out and socialize a bit.

I tend to stay away from garage sales Jude as I usually always buy a bunch of stuff that looks cool but don't really need lol.

I think hot and dry is getting to be the norm for summers in all of western Canada Mulburry.

Hope you both enjoy your reunions dill and Ginger. My family's reunion is next weekend at a Provincial Park about a 3 hour drive from us. Luckily there is a hotel right in the park and we've booked a room for both Saturday and Sunday night.

I think Adam would just as soon stay with drywall as well Rava, and that's what was quoted on in the package.

Slo, good luck with your appt Tuesday!

This reunion reminds me how much I enjoy the quiet routine we've established. Hubby feels the same way. When I was drinking, I loved these kinds of things. Funny how we change when AL is removed from the equation. My sil got me aside to say how much she missed our connection in the "old days". Meaning, when we'd sit and drink a bottle or two of wine together just blathering on about nothing. I pray I never go back to that, even if it means losing that connection. It's so not worth it.

Waves to all. I'll take another day of freedom

I don’t know if a podiatrist really has anything to offer. Maybe nothing but X-rays and cortisone shots. But I feel desperate for some opinions from someone who should know a lot about feet.

Yeah, I tried to be positive, Rava. That’s good that you have nothing to tempt you to drink today.

Yes, it’s definitely a good day for you not to drink, Dill! Tempting at a party though.

That’s so true about drinking, Ginger. I used to love things like that (social occasions like your reunion) simply because I loved drinking. I loved to lose track of time and feel in flow, not think so much, and be glib of tongue. That’s the up side of the drug. It stopped working consistently in the later years though.

Yesterday I found a condo model that I really like! And I found right where I want to live, where they are building it! However, I am realizing belatedly that I would like to live there. When they first started selling lots there, I didn’t think I did. And now, the good lots are all sold. The one lot that is left with that model, I would not like to live on at all.

I picked up a knee scooter this morning an hour away in my cousin’s town, and got to visit with my cousin for a couple hours too!

Let’s all commit to keeping our quits firmly in place today: no falling into the trap!

Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

I definitely still miss those days, but I've also learned that I can be social and have a good time with friends without drinking.
