Amen to the holidays and drinking! It's a real trigger for a lot of us, to be sure. The stores around here have boosted their displays of poison to almost every isle. Insane! Im glad you guys are here. There's no way I could do it without you!

There's a bad bug going around here. Hoping we can stay clear of it. Respiratory junk. My friend has it and I was with her all day; before she came down with it. Not looking too good for my team.

Waves too all my AF pals! I'll take another day of freedom

Good morning cafe. Forgot to check in yesterday. Slept in late because I was up most of the night not able to sleep. Today I am driving 3 hours with my sister to say our goodbyes to our father as he is in the hospital. Hope everyone has a good day. No drinking in my future. Ginger, I am glad that your knee is not too bad. Hope you follow the doctors orders!!! 24 more please and thank you.

Rava, I'm sorry to hear about your Dad and I hope that your visit went well. How sad, especially at this time of year.

We had a couple of inches of snow yesterday, so I'm hoping that it stays cold enough to make it last until Christmas. We shall see...

I'm in for another 24 hours of freedom...

It snowed here all day yesterday, Jude, but it was not cold enough to stick. No white Christmas for us, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Rava, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers today. I hope your Dad is as comfortable as possible and at peace.

Ginger, I am hoping you don't come down with that bug! Keep up your immune system, Girl!

My cookies turned out great, if I do say so myself. I just hope we don't eat them all before Christmas! LOL To try to avoid that I made a batch of Cranberry Almond Biscotti, Almond Bark, and today I will make some Peppermint Bark. ....And maybe some ginger snaps. You all should stop by later. I'll have an Open House.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Good morning Cafe. Snowed all the way on our long drive yesterday. My step mother tried to keep me from talking to my dad alone. To make a long story short I took him down the hallway in his wheelchair and said my goodbyes. We both cried a little and he told me he did the best he could as a father/grandfather. I told him all good things and that he was a wonderful man. I get a call from step mother 5 minutes after leaving saying you broke his spirit, he thought he was getting better. I know in my heart that telling him my goodbyes was the right thing to do. I told him that I would be leaving for FL and it might be the last time I get to see him. It was the most stressful day. I came home with a splitting headache. Slept pretty good and know that I did all I could. So sad that people have to make dying such a horrible experience. Sometimes you can’t keep fighting…..Going to my grandsons soccer game this morning and then cooking this afternoon. Dill I will definitely need to stop by today for some cookies. Ginger, please don't get the bug!! Stay well everyone. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. 24 more please and thank you.

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

Saying those "last goodbyes" in never easy Rava, but it sounds like you handled it very well.

Sure hope you don't catch that bug Ginger, nothing worse than being sick over Christmas.

Geez, I'd love to sample all of those cookies dill, I'll bet your house smells wonderful as you're baking all them.

Hopefully you'll have a white Christmas Jude, I can only remember 1 Christmas many years ago that we didn't have snow for Christmas.

Rava, I'm so very sorry. Hard enough to say goodbye without getting scolded by step-mom. Sending thoughts and prayers your way.

My poor friend is so sick! It's a bad crud. She's single so no one to help her. I've been checking in and helping with her sweet pup. I know I'm taking a big chance but what else can I do?

Knee is a little better with rest, ice, etc. Counting my blessings! Waves to all! I'll take another day of freedom.

Rava, you did the right thing saying goodbye to your Dad, even if your stepmother didn't approve. It must have been a rough day for sure.

Ginger, make sure that you wear a mask when you visit your sick friend. How kind of you to take care of her, hope that she gets better soon.

Sounds like you were in a baking frenzy yesterday dill. I'll stop in later for some cookies!

                    It's 7

I'm sure you did the right thing too, Rava. I'm glad you and your dad could have those moments together. It sounds like your stepmom is in massive denial and fear. Sorry you are going thru this.

I think we are finally turning the corner: We are at the point where the days are the shortest, they will be all year. The will start getting longer now ever so gradually.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

See! It has something to do with numeric values, Jude. I'm assuming the data is being stored on a SQL server and when you submit it truncates. I'll see about contacting admin about.

I never did hear back from QW and my friend said he hasn't posted in ages on the Parkinsons Facebook page. I'm really worried about him. Wondering about Techie too. This is the downside of anonymity.

Little sister will arrive in just three weeks! I've been a little worried because she's a daily drinker and we all know how hard that can be! She texted yesterday that she's not drank in ten days and plans to abstain while here. Hallelujah! She said it's a whole new world!

Quiet day around here. Another warm one too. Waves to all. I'll come back for breakfast, if I don't forget! I'll take another day.
