Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

We sure discuss some crazy things here in the Cafe lol. I think cremation and celebrations of life have really gained in popularity around here as well. I want a traditional funeral but don't really care if there's a viewing or not. That would be up to Bubba and the kids to decide.

Hope y'all had a great Memorial Day!

Rava, ants in the walls!? Yikes, that makes my skin crawl. I'm glad you have a professional helping you with this! You are right, it will be over soon.

Headed to coffee with an old workmate then up to entertain the greats while mom and dad clean and organize their garage. I should be sufficiently exhausted tonight. Lol

Slo, im sorry you feel that way about visiting D3 and family. Did something particular happen or was it just a gut feeling you left with?

Hey to all my Cafe pals!

        I'll take another day

Ginger, I asked if I could stay an extra day, and D3 got really upset about how she needs a day with her family, and I needed to clear out. It just really hit me about how I am not family. I am alone, and disabled, and I do not have a family.
It’s the same at D2’s: the son-in-law always wants nuclear family time, so I don’t feel welcome there, even though they only live 13 minutes away.

I managed to get my trash out to the curb this morning, but everything is so hard with the painful foot to walk on, and the locked left SI joint in my pelvis, and the dizzy head. It’s disorienting and exhausting.

I do not want a funeral either. Just cremate me, and have a tiny graveside service at most.

Sounds like a nice day, Rava!

D1 has invited me up today to stay with Mabel in the evening while the rest are out to ballgames. As it’s hard to stay alone when I can’t be active & normal, I will gladly welcome the distraction!
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Slo, the topic of adult children being caught up in their own lives and not being thoughtful of their aging parents was a side theme in the BBC episode of A Touch of Frost that we were watching last evening. It was dealt with both seriously and humorously in that episode. Seems to be a universal problem in Western countries. I'm sorry you felt like you were not welcome. I can't imagine that was intentional on D3's part. Who knows what was going on in their minds and hearts? Could have been a marital tiff going on in the background. Could just be immaturity.

A Touch of Class is a British crime drama series that ran for 15 seasons beginning in 1992. I came across it on our Roku app that came on our TV.

Cowboy, I too think it's funny some of the things we cover here! But it's all part of life, eh? I forgot to mention that my parents were both cremated and buried together in a single plot...Kind of a two-fer, lol. I wasn't involved in the arrangements, and I never asked my brother if that was a cost savings or not. I wish I had. And, I too want to thank you for your role as a farmer! I think of you every time I reach for my bottle of canola oil!

Jude, that's really good that you and your ex have maintained a friendship. I would hope I would have been able to do something like that if I had ever divorced.

Rava, your day with the grands sound idyllic. I think the kind of fun you had and memories you created are the stuff of life.

Have fun on your trip, Ginger.

            Waves, Mulburry.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Jude, I hate that you were frustrated with trying to post and I wish I could help you. I really like hearing what you have to say, so please don't give up.

Did you all hear that they will no longer be making pennies at the Fed? I guess it costs 4 cents to mint one cent so it no longer made sense. I wonder if Canada will do that too? Does Canada use the small amount coin? People are getting more and more away from using cash for transactions. I truly hope they don't stop altogether.

24 more for all of us here today, please and thank you.

I wish I knew how to help with your lost posts as well Jude, it seems that it has something to do with when you use numbers, I think Ginger mentioned something along those lines. We're having very hot days here, into the 90's for some days.

At least you're getting some time with your family and grandkids Slo, even if it's only when they want it.

How did the day go with your g-kids and kids go Rava, did you catch anything?

We stopped using pennies a few years back dill, the stores just round up or down to the closest cost without using pennies.

Good morning Cafe. Cowboy, we caught 2 small crabs but had to release because they were too small. We got lots of minnows too which the boys really liked catching and threw them all back as well. It’s a lot of fun spending time doing things other than watching tv. Definitely making good memories. Today’s kids are all about what they can get/buy. Nothing like when we were kids. So I am happy to share simple things with them. Slo, hope you have a good evening watching Mabel. Jude, so far my posts are working. For a while there every time I switched back on the feed it signed me out and I had to enter my password each time I “liked” someone’s post. I would give up and start over. This week so far it’s working for me. Hope your issues get resolved. It is very frustrating. Hi to everyone on here today. We are getting a mess of rain and wind today. It’s also damp and cold. This makes me appreciate Florida even more. (Except when a hurricane comes). Hope everyone has a good and sober day. 24 more please!!

Slo, that's a bummer! I'm sorry that happened. Sounds a bit like the girls just want to see you when you're able to watch the littles. Am I getting that wrong? I hope so.

Jude, I wish I could help too. Have you cleared your cache lately in your browser? Restart what ever you're using? That's all I've got. I miss your posts!

Rava, did the bug guy cone and nuck those pesky ants? Your day sounded so fun with the fam!

I went and played with the greats yesterday. Darn, I love those guys so much! They have no TV or electronics so it's one on one! I always come home tuckered out but gdaughter tells me the greats sleep like rocks after GG is there, so I get an "A" for effort. Lol

Hey Dill, ABC! I'll take another day of freedom

Thank you kindly, Dill, for your perspective. I think it is a Western, Industrial era and beyond, attitude. I may have to check out that show, “A Touch of Class”.

Catching minnows is great fun for little boys, Rava!
Ginger, you sure do get an A for effort! I watched 2 y/o Cooper for a couple few hours this morning, and kept him outside the whole time other than for breakfast; so he got a lot of outside time in before the rain started when Mom got home. But then Grandma needed a nap too when he napped. I enjoyed sleeping overnight there after watching Mabel last night. So my heart is full!

The girls want to spend time with me when they need me to help with the kids, but that is fine considering the six kids are 0-5 years old. I have been asked to watch Huxley tomorrow morning, but I can’t .

I have to regularly clear the cache in my browser and bring MWO up fresh, or I will have problems. That’s interesting that it may be numbers causing the problem for Jude!

I did hear that pennies will no longer be made! Interesting to hear how Canada has dealt with it. (By rounding up rather than down!)

                              Continuing on the AF path…

                                Morning all!

Thanks for the advice about losing posts. Is clearing the cache the same thing as refreshing the page? If so, that's what I just did so we will see what happens.

Dill, I did here that pennies are going to be phased out soon. I didn't realize that cost of making them was so expensive and it's not surprising that they are no longer going to do so.

Fifty five degrees and raining. Where is summer?

I'm in for another twenty four hours...
