Dill, I've been working with admin about the disappearing posts but they're not really sure what's going on. The worst thing that could happen is that I'll have to start using my laptop instead of my Kindle. We shall see.

Ginger, glad that you were able to get a short hike in, just be careful.

More rain today which we really don't need. The farmers are having trouble getting the hay done due to all of this rain. At least the temperature has been in the seventies instead of the fifties as it was for most of May.

Thanks for making breakfast yesterday Rava!

I'm in for another twenty hour hours.

Good morning Cafe. Jude, I am sorry about those posts disappearing. I didnt even know you could do anything from a kindle other than read. I love my Kindle but could not survive without my ipad. Slo I am glad you are having fun at your daughter’s house. Ginger, hope that knee continues to hold up without any issues. Cowboy is probably very busy still with Adam. Hi to Dill. Without going into any detail, after a horrible day yesterday with family drama, I have deleted my stepmother and stepsister from my contacts and blocked their phone numbers. No more contact with them. They refused to let me speak to his doctor because they are in charge, not me. I am so done with them. So today I am going into this new week letting go of what I can not control. 24 more please and thank you.

Rava, that is heart-breaking and maddening. I don't blame you a bit for severing all ties to your step family. I will say a prayer for you and your dad. Thank you for that lovely breakfast yesterday. You really stepped up!

Jude, I hope switching to your Ipad works. I bet it will. I always had trouble trying to post on my Ipad but it wasn't technical trouble. I just had a hard time using the touchscreen keypad. I have to have the real feel of the keyboard it seems. LOL Rain yet again today! It's good some of the farmers got their hay up during that short window of sunshine that we had. Ours is still down, unfortunately.

Slo, I'm so glad you are getting so much family time! It must be very comforting and a good way to be distracted from pain.

        Ginger, you keep on trucking!!

        Welcome back, Cowboy.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Thanks for getting the coffee on dill, and sure wish I wouldn't have missed that fabulous breakfast Rava, thanks for filling in as Cafe Chef for the day.

Hope they get their hay up soon dill, our haying season should start in 2 - 3 weeks but the hay crops won't be very good unless we get some rain, and soon.

I've tried using my kindle for internet purposes Jude, but found it slow and hard to type on. I love my 13" Acer Spin as I get the flexibility of a laptop but with the full on-screen qwerty keyboard.

I think what you've done with the family is best Rava, hopefully you'll find another way to stay on top of how your dad is doing.

Sounds like you've been really enjoying your time with your daughters and g-kids Slo, that should be keeping your loneliness at bay for the time being at least.

It is a 750 gallon cement holding tank Ginger, and it was there when they bought the lot along with the well and power. We didn't have to take a permit out for the holding tank, just for the cabin and sewer line to the tank. He's hoping they'll only need it pumped out once a year, but he's not too concerned as the guy who has the "honey wagon" business for the area only lives 3 cabins down from them.

It was a productive weekend, we got all the stacks and vents in the cabin and crawlspace finished so next up is to trench from the cabin to the holding tank and get the main sewer line installed. Then I can call the plumbing inspector to have it all inspected.

Thanks for explaining, ABC. That's a great idea for the sewer! I'm wondering if that's allowed in these parts. I'll have to check. There's so many beautiful pieces of land in the mountain and on the coast. I'd love to have a piece but the sewer permitting is becoming near impossible here in Washington. You've given me something to think about!

Slo, you sound like a different person when you're with your daughters. Especially D-1. Medicine for your soul. Here's hoping you can see them as much as possible!

Rava, I just don't see how you could have done anything other than what you did. Those people sound nuts and cruel from my perspective. Curious, if your dad ever expressed his dying wishes to you at any point?

Jude, I think I'd switch to the other option and lay the kindle aside just to test the theory. I post on my phone and that's it. Of course, I have to type with one finger, lol

Dill, I hope those farmers are able to get that hay bailed soon so it doesn't mold! Sorry about the drama. Hope it improves soon!

We are in the middle of a heat wave. It's supposed to get in the 100s then drop back to normal 70s. I can't recall this kind of heat this early, ever. Things are getting pretty crispy and that creates a horrible fire season.

Well, I fell on my gdaughter's stairs yesterday. My gg-daughter wants to be carried down (she'll be 2 on the 28th) but I said no, I'd just hold her hand and the next thing I know, I'm on my butt! She was fine but me? Not so much. I have a huge bruise on my arm where I apparently hit a stair and I dislocated a toe, which I was able to put back. Ouch It's a lovely purple this morning. But the worst part is my tailbone. I was just telling hubby yesterday I was starting to feel like myself and this happens. Ugh! Headed to chiropractor after I try to workout. I'm not sure that will be possible but thought I'd try, at least! Good grief

I'll take another day of freedom and less clumsiness

Oh no, Ginger! Tailbone pain is difficult; I’ve watched a couple people deal with that. Hopefully it subsides quickly.

Rava, they definitely deserve to be deleted. It’s terrible how you are being treated when it’s your father. I guess what can you do but let go of what you cannot control.

That’s exactly it; it is so comforting to be with a family and playing with and snuggling little grandkids. It distracts me from the pain & physical problems marvelously. I can capitalize on this at D1’s since she’s pregnant & exhausted, and so will welcome an extra pair of hands! Plus the grandkids need me at this age, and also I don’t want to miss these ages.

Wow, Cowboy; that’s a big project you’re doing.

I hate to hear that the west is primed for more forest fires.

I get my new orthotics tomorrow! Fingers crossed that they will work well.

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, am so sorry you took a fall. Tailbone pain is awful. I wish I was closer as I have 3 tailbone pain special cushions. I had tailbone pain for about 2 years and had to use these cushions when sitting or driving. I am hoping you recover quickly. Putting back your toe gave me the willies! Dill, I have a keyboard that attaches to my ipad. I type on it just like a computer. So easy! Slo, hope your new orthotics help you out and keep you walking! Welcome back Cowboy. Hi to Jude! My father expressed to me that he wants no funeral, no obituary, etc. So we will see how that turns out. It has been very freeing to let it all go. I heard thru my stepsister that he was going to refuse me as a visitor because I am upsetting his wife. Little did he know that I was not planning on visiting anyway. Families can be so screwed up! UGH. 24 more please and thank you.

                    Hello cafe!

Ginger, I once had a horse fall on me and I broke my tailbone, so I can sympathize with you. Really painful! Hope that you heal quickly.

Cowboy, sounds like you and Adam are making good progress on the cabin. Can't wait to see pics when everything's done.

Rava, I think that are wise to cut all contact with the step family. They are only causing you more stress in an already difficult situation. Can you contact the doctors to get info on your Dad as you are his daughter and have a right to know what's going on.

We had one and a half inches of rain overnight and it's still raining. The poor farmers are never going to get their hay in!

Looking forward to another day of sanity.

Send some of that rain our way Jude, not just for the farmers but for the firefighters battling all the wildfires across the country.

Sounds like you'll get lots of visiting time in with one daughter and her kids Slo. Hopefully your new orthotics help with pain relief.

Make sure you send some of your rain up here as well dill, hopefully the hay that is cut will dry out in time before it spoils.

Sounds like your step-mom has your dad brainwashed Rava, at least you got to see him at least once before he's gone. And you never know, he may reach out when his time is near.

Geez Ginger, sounds like hubby will have to strap you to a chair to keep you healthy lol. I'll bet you'll be sore for a few days but good to hear that the gg-daughter is okay.

I'm off to the dentist this morning to get these stitches out and my new teeth put in. Never mind being able to eat again, it'll be nice to smile again without scaring people lol.

I hope all goes well at the dentist today, Cowboy. I'm confident it will and you will emerge with a brilliant smile!

Ginger, I am so sorry you fell and hurt yourself! I hope you take it real easy for a while as you heal.

Slo, fingers crossed that the orthotics help.

Rava, I have a tablet and a bluetooth keyboard that I post from, so all is well here.

Jude, your posts seem to be coming across now that you switched to the Ipad. I'm so glad!

Good luck, ABC! I hope all goes well. Are you getting skinny?

I feel pretty good this morning. Chiro adjustment helped. Jude, broken tailbone?! Did they have to wire it back together? Good grief that sounds terrible!

It's 6:41a and already 75f degrees outside! I have a commitment today but if I didn't, I'd head for the mountains!

The new orthotics are already an improvement to my foot pain! Oh, there’s plenty more wrong -plantar fasciitis; loose, crackly bones that aren’t holding together, and neuropathy in the foot: but we’re moving in the right direction!

I moved some appointments so that I can help D1 for a couple days next week when she goes in for her first OB appointment.
D2 attended the first ultrasound with her surrogate, and baby looks well!

I don’t think Rava can talk to her father’s doctor thanks to the privacy laws that are in effect these days. I agree that it does sound like the stepmom has brainwashed him.

The full moon is tonight, and then my energy should be on the upswing. Maybe once I can correct the calcium deficiency and the vitamin B6 toxicity, then perhaps I won’t react so strongly to the moon cycles. At least I know what is wrong now.

I hope the weather will allow for the hay crops to be saved and harvested in your various areas.

                              Good luck, Cowboy!

Dill, I don't have an Ipad, just my kindle. I think part of my disappearing posts happen when I use certain symbols and numbers. I'll have to keep experimenting and see what works and what doesn't.

My sister that had breast cancer just found out that the cancer has come back, and is now in one of her lungs. After she had a mastectomy the doctors told her that she didn't need chemo or radiation, and that she was cancer free. I'm praying that she can beat this but only time will tell.

Cowboy, hope that the dentist appointment went well yesterday and that you can smile again!
