    Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

Cowboy, our car should be repaired in 7-10 days, so I'm going to take full advantage of the rental car.

I'm going to a meeting today, which I really missed. Online meetings are ok, but they're not the same as in person. Looking forward to it!

24 more please and thank you!

5:18am in Alberta, 24 more please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Good morning Cafe. Finally a good nights sleep. That was weird for the last 2 nights. Nothing different. Sometimes I just overthink stuff and maybe that is part of it. Anyway, today should be a good day now that I feel well rested. Might make some cookies. Hope everyone has a great and sober day! 24 more please.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Good to hear! Have you ever tried meditation (focused breathing) for trying to get back to sleep? For me, having chronic sleep issues (though it's been better lately), it really has been a life saver (though not foolproof obviously). Now I sometimes wonder how I'd ever get to sleep without it.

Glad that you finally got a good nights sleep Rava. What a difference it makes!

It was so good to be able to drive somewhere on my own yesterday; it really helped me emotionally, and gave me a sense of freedom. So grateful for that.

Here's to 24 hours of peace for all of us!

Good morning Cafe. Jude, so glad you are out and about now. What a great feeling. Mul, I have tried focused breathing but for me it stresses me out. Causes anxiety for me sadly. Thanks for the suggestion tho. Hope today is a good day for everyone. We are headed to the beach for the day with some neighbors. We bring our chairs, umbrellas and books and basically do nothing. Mr. R likes to metal detect so he will walk around looking for treasures. Another day of sobriety please and thank you.

We got freezing rain yesterday morning that turned into snow, looks like winter might be here to stay now but it's supposed to go up above freezing next week so who knows lol.

                        Have a great Friday everyone!

Unseasonably warm here in AZ but getting back to normal this weekend. We are close enough to the mountains that if it gets too warm, we just head to the hills!

ABC, I recall a lovely story Rava posted about Mr R helping a frantic woman locate her wedding ring she'd lost on the beach. He used his metal detector. Sure made that woman's day.

                          I'll take another!

When I can't sleep I put my earbuds in and listen to either a novel or a podcast. Unfortunately it works so well that if I don't remember to set a sleep timer my book continues long after the point at which I fell asleep so I have to go back and try to estimate where I was in the story when I fell asleep. Sleep timer limits that problem!

Went to my granddaughter's Christmas Concert last night. It was such a treat. I'm so glad she invited us. It was her first choir concert as a middle schooler so she was one of the youngest ones. But I marveled at how very grown up they all are! It helped me reset my brain and see her as the young lady she is becoming right now.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Dill, I haven't been to a choir concert in years. We used to go when Mr.J's daughter was in high school, and I always found them so peaceful. It always put me in the Christmas spirit and helped me deal with the stress of the holidays.

Yesterday, after the meeting, myself and two other people were the last to leave. One person was wearing a neck brace due to a recent car accident, the other using a cane due to severe arthritis, and me with a cast using my scooter. Someone in the parking lot yelled out, "here come the crips!" We all cracked up as it must have looked pretty funny as we came out of the building. Made my day.

Hope that everyone has a great and sober 24 hours!
